we reported a transformer blown at 5am and we were back up with electric by 7am.Even in a heat wave they are so quick! Have always had Delaware Electric, they are the BEST!! Thank you so much!!

Spoke with a couple of their customer service staff and it appears what they say and what actually happens in the other departments are two different things. Consistency and training is definitely needed.
I really don't understand the bad reviews, I am amazed how their electricity cost is so much lower than Delmarva power and neighboring states. Do the people that are complaining about their bill know that they are paying at least 30% less than others in Delaware? Over the last month, I have also found their service to the customer to be outstanding. I am considering installing a solar panel system and their expert could not have been more helpful with information and guidance even though the Coop does not need more solar credits like Delmarva does. They have planned well to keep rates down in the future. I can't comment on power failures because we've only had one that didn't last long which is much better than Pennsylvania. Based on 2 years of experience with the Coop, I would say people should appreciate what they have compared to the alternative. Even in PA where you can select your electricity provider, there is no better than this one.
Delaware Electric can turn off your power even if you don't owe money or if you haven't reached the due date yet. They are money hungry and do not care about people. Had to pay the fee to turn power back on even though it wasn't supposed to get turned off. They WILL NOT ADD THE FEE TO THE BILL, THEY DEMAND YOU PAY TO GET IT TURNED BACK ON. Up to $172 just to turn it back on the weekends. So the drivers can just ride around and do whatever they want and people will pay. I will be switching to a new company that doesn't try to get over on people at every turn. What a poor excuse for a company. Terrible customer service. Very rude people who do not care about anyone but themselves. The people who had given 5 star reviews saying "I don't understand why there is 1 star reviews" obviously haven't looked at their bills and kept track of what automatically gets taken out of their account. I truly hope that everyone who works at DE have to deal with what I just went through. They wouldn't be so money-hungry then.

Will it was ok until they cut me off about a mounth ago for about 400 bucks but had a deposit of 250 been there for 7 years and allowed a family member im guessing tell them to cut me off not sure but that same family member uses my me to put a different electric company in my name now they say I have to pay 7 hundred bucks in order to put the lights on im a independent contractor my bill has been here before but to disconnect and we still had a state of emergency in a fact I hope you sleep well my house is 100 with no running water tydec
