What in the hell happened to this place? It was once a yearly event me and my family enjoyed and now its just too focused on 13$ Small Beers and 18$ Meals and mariachi bands thatll make the South Park Episode of "Pan Flute Bands" look real! Its just a shell of what it used to be.

A well laid out fairground and a bit larger than other. A large variety of vendors in several large buildings. If you want to go on more than a couple of days buying the every day pass is the best deal as it works out to be a dollar a day. They have a great off site shuttle system that is free and many are double decket buses.

FROM AN EXHIBITORS POINT OF VIEW.

FROM AN EXHIBITORS POINT OF VIEW.
The girl running a majority of the llama show this year (katy/kady) had such an unpleasant attitude and was actually very rude. We love this show but to be told "I can't believe you guys don't even look at the show schedule, it's posted everywhere" when we have questions or to get an eye roll if our numbers weren't ready that very second is just unprofessional. The show obstacles and divisions ( pack, public relations and obstacle being the correct terms) packing, personal relations and obstacle had been changed when we began the show from what had been listed on the show schedule. Like I said. This is our FAVORITE SHOW but her attitude (she ran every show the entire weekend) really rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. And attitude change (or a new person?) And some new CREATIVE obstacles would be awesome!

Was an awesome experience attending the country fair at the Del Mar fair grounds. There's a magnificent horse race track and a monster truck race arena here. Would love to watch the monster truck event someday.

Had a great time!! Was a little bit small compared to other County fair's that ive been to, but overall it was enjoyable. Parking was expensive considering it was in the dirt. Also unless you go early traffic to get in/out is horrible. Food was AMAZING!! However very expensive.

A great location that is home for the Surfside Race Place. Del Mar also hosts different events, from the SD County Fair, Gun Shows, Car Shows, and many other types of entertainment, that gathers people from all over. Plan ahead to spend the day here, with friends or family.

Worked here for the past two weeks and I HATE IT I highly suggest not wasting money on the actual games for prizes and just going for rides I ve first hand seen people spend like 50 tickets which is equivalent to 50 dollars trying to win one prize which are very cheaply made and fall apart. I use to stand in my booth while
Waitin for customers and try to fix the defects all the stuffed animals
Had for the customers. DO NOT recommend wasteing money on the games. Not to mention how poorly they treat their customers but that s another story.

Wonderful place for kids if you go early and get the unlimited rides band. Expect to shell out a lot of money for food and entertainment. A simple cheeseburger meal with fries and small drink will set you back $20.

Typical fair, kids loved it. Zillions of people, food not great. But you can bring stuff in if you have dietary requirements.
Buy the wrist band for unlimited rides, it's cheaper than tickets in the long run.

Underwhelmed but organized and clean at least.

Underwhelmed but organized and clean at least.
I had expected bigger things, never having been to the fair. The theme of CANDY, or a Willy Wonka vibe, was lost in the row of food stalls offering bacon wrapped in everything.
I didn't find any candy specific activities for the kids.
There was a very small petting zoo and butterfly garden, but not much else of natural interest.
The midway and the kid's funzone were a blur of tired rides and games.
If I can help it, I won't go back.
The restrooms were clean and abundant at least.

Lots of fun but a lot of money for refreshments and food. Just think a cup of beer cost $13.50. Other than betting on horses everything else will cost you a fortune and you can't bring anything in to save money. Be well hydrated and not hungry unless you plan on spending and spending and spending.

Fun! So much to see and do. I walked around and kept my eyes open for booths to visit. I tried the French Toast Bacon Bombs. I wouldn't try them again if they were free. It's an unsalted pretzel stuffed with unflavored cream cheese wrapped in a thin slice of bacon, fried in vegetable oil (soybean oil) & topped with syrup, cinnamon-sugar, and whipped cream. I ordered it without the whipped cream. I was expecting the taste of French Toast but fried pretzel dough with cinnamon isn't French Toast. It's fried pretzel dough with cinnamon. #ChangeYourSign

First time visiting the Delmar Fairgrounds and it was fairly decent. It can get very crowded very fast especially the drive-in to the fairgrounds. The county fair itself was not as big as other county fairs what they had nice exhibitions and performers. Good thing is that it's close to the beach so you'll get that nice Breeze come Nightfall .
