Very tasty but it took 25 minutes until we were helped, after we were assigned a table

Beautiful place for drinks and dinner! Especially in the spring and summer.

Great atmosphere and location. Lovely food, Gourmet-Style.

Good food, pricey but I don't think it's suitable for a jazz afternoon. Possibly if they organize a jazz afternoon in a separate room and adjust the drink prices down, it will be better.

An interesting vintage style hotel and a restaurant in an old villa with a lovely garden. According to one of the staff members, plenty of special guests visited this place before. Among them Audrey Hepburn, Maria Callas, Prince Willem Alexander, Mark Rutte...Whether it's true, I'm not sure, but the photos are hanging on the walls to admire.

Location and reception very nice. Moderate food and waiting times not acceptable. Prices too high for what is offered.

Table reserved, but reservation was not noted by staff, again made reservation were told the second time a day before that they had the room rented for a party but we could still eat in the kitchen (Fri) , worthless tent even 1 star is too much!

Nice atmospheric place, nice building with history and delicious dining with great service. Had dinner here years ago with a select group prior to our wedding night. Had booked a hotel room for ourselves. Have nice rooms and neat service. Since then we have been trying to have dinner on our wedding day. The changing menu of the chef has never disappointed us. As if there is an angel over your tongue ...;)

Totaal geen gastvrijheid. Tijdens de high tea heeft het bediend personeel gedurende 1,5 uur niet aan onze tafel gekomen. Uiteindelijk zijn we naar hen gelopen om te vragen of we nog iets konden bestellen.
Ook was de Britse high tea totaal niet wat op de website werd vermeld. In een woord jammer!!!

I was here on business and myself at departure made to come back to vacation.

The rooms are in principle very nice and especially the garden is beautiful with many small seating and tables.
We spent two nights with our whole family in the hotel (together we had four rooms). The rooms are named after big cities (Dubai, New York, Cape Town ...) and "typical of the city" decorated. Unfortunately, the rooms are very worn (broken cabinets, quirks on the wood, the panel of the TV fell off).
Service charming, but unfortunately not the specified level of the hotel accordingly. At high tea we had to wait about 30-45 minutes to get our food. The price-performance ratio is unfortunately really bad. The breakfast was ok, but not for a 4 star hotel !!!!
Overall, a hotel with a lot of potential, the implementation does not succeed.

Via een Groupon-aktie, waren wij hier (inclusief een overnachting) beland. Wij kregen een mooie tafel in de hoek met uitzicht op de schiiterende tuin en de prachtige grote beukenboom. Het geserveerde 6-gangen menu zag er mooi uit. Op ons verzoek werden een paar gerechten aangepast aan persoonlijke voorkeuren. We lieten alles begeleiden door een wijnarrangement.
Het begon met een gebraden tamme eendenborst met munt, rettich, mango en cashew noten; Heerlijk. Gevolgd door een Thaise bouillon met kokos en gambas die je werkelijk aan Thailand deed denken. Vervolgens een steak tartaar met truffel en kwartelei waarbij mijn disgenote voor een zalmrolletje met zalm mousse gekozen had. Beide dik in orde.

De gegratineerde oesters met spinazie smaakte uitstekend, waarbij de zilte smaak nog goed tot zijn recht kwam. Anders dan de tonijn met kaasgratin van mijn tafelgenoot, waar de tonijn in smaak wegviel bij de gratin. Jammer.

Het hoofdgerecht van zijlende was heerlijk. Het menu werd afgesloten (je kunt het nog uitbreiden met een kaasplateau) met rood fruit, lemon curd, vanille en mascarpone. Ook weer heel smakelijk en mooi opgemaakt.

Tot het hoofdgerecht werden witte wijnen geschonken. Het nagerecht werd voorzien van een rose / riesling en dat paste niet zo volgens ons.

Al met al een heerlijk menu, geserveerd in een mooie omgeving door een hele prettige bediening. Een mooie plek om nog eens terug te komen.

Hospitality was once again as usual. Good food. Crackling fire. And to the point staff. With a smile.

Too expensive for the quality. Operation is not correct. Not everything at the same time on the table. Dogs on the terrace. Not possible if you eat for 120 per person. Over the top.

Overprized. Service reasonable but the food disappointing. Dover sole - most expensive dish on the menu came as fried cod ?? on the table without any garnish. Dry and bald. Appetizer also very basic salad. Bisque weak.

High tea very sparse. Maybe because of groupon but unfortunately it still wasn't worth it. Nice location.

Booked a high tea with three girlfriends via social deal. Reception was friendly, but then we were left to our own devices. After the warm part, the cold came and the service remained. There was a pot of tea on the table and after asking another 1. We have not been able to serve two cups of tea. Price quality is not in proportion.

Nice theme rooms, extensive breakfast, rooms not clean (lots of dust and under the bed remains of previous visitors). Which is a shame because staff were super friendly.

Location is nice, there is no bicycle shed. Lunch was very mediocre, all sandwiches were mixed, so people started checking everything on it, I found this unsanitary, I don't know who washed them. It is better to have separate dishes with 1 type of sandwich, and with a board for what it is: 1 bowl of cheese, 1 bowl of meat, 1 bowl of healthy. It also looked cheap. Also older woman with blond hair, leading the walk with a sour-plum face. There was a very blunt response to a friendly boy who exchanged the empty jugs of drink for us, for full ones.
I don't go here anymore.

Good friendly service. Delicious 3-course menu taken a la carte, with foie gras, lobster head and amarena cherry ice cream for dessert. Flavors were excellent, location is also very beautiful. It costs a little more than average but you also get something for that! We will definitely be back!

Over rated restaurant for what it claims to be. Quality less and less. Operation friendly but very slow. Wine forget the menu, forgot to ask if we want to, no question how water you want to eat your beef tenderloin, which is determined by the chef. And a cheese plate of nothing (smoked cheese, young cumin cheese, tiny pieces but even Knocking 14.50). We unfortunately do not come back.

Operation is very bad unfortunately. Waiters behave like queens, show little life in them and little desire to work. Better than just studying at university and looking for a better job.

Delicious food but did not feel really welcome. We had booked through Social Deal and were also treated with a discount. Wine was way too expensive for what it was, prosecco was tasty.

Great little Gem on walking distance from Leiden Central station. Has a dreamy-like garden with big swing tree, nice terras, terrific food and beautifull scenery. Lovely place
