Davis County Sheriff's Department Review

I have only heard wonderful things about the davis county grey bar hotel, so going there is something a guy like me can only dream of. Room service with a bed and breakfast feel. Activities galore is the talk at the block! rumors of chess,sleeping,walking and the new hobby of clock watching is the rave inside the walls. i am hearing that the guards can be less than gregarious, however i dont listen to gossip nonsense like that. I guarantee the guards have empathy and are there protecting and serving.

These guys really do Protect and Serve! All the deputies are also trained First Responders/EMTs. They have helped me and my family and friends numerous times and all the deputies have been great to work with. One of the best departments I have ever dealt with. Thank you for your service!

THE JAIL EMPLOYEES HERE STOLE MY MOTHERS PRESCRIBED PAIN PILLS THAT THEY TOOK AT BOOKING. THEY ALMOST DIDNT GIVE THEM BACK TO HER WHEN SHE WAS RELEASED THEY TRIED TO SAY THEY DIDNT HAVE THEM. THEY ARE THIEFS AND AWFUL PEOPLE.

Tonight as I was leaving a friends house going south on Main Street I stopped at a red 4 way stop to go straight with a sheriff infront of me. As the green arrows for the left lane to go turned on the sheriff went while our lane was still red for the opposite side to turn left. He almost got side swiped and put other people s life in danger. He then drove off doing ruffly 55mph in a 40mph speed limit. Luckily everyone swerved around him but it still puts a bad feeling in my chest knowing that a so called trained driver is out there being reckless. I memorized the plates F17556. White male and he also was wearing reading glasses. There s already enough fatalities coming from civilians cause of distracted driving and it s a shame that it can happen from a davis sheriff.

I had a rough experience with one of the police officers. I did receive a ticket for not having my new registration sticker, which was totally understandable. That was my fault. I respect officers and was totally complaint. The law is the law. What wasn't my fault is that I was treated very disrespectfully for no reason. After that I just felt terrible all morning. Please train your officers to treat other humans with respect when they are respecting you.

The county under feeds inmates then capitalizes on having overpriced store. The kitchen, grounds, halls and every individual pod is maintained and worked for free by inmates; saving huge on annual labor costs. Very close to slavery. Lighten up on the petty fines Davis county.

The phone's do not work. I've been calling for 2 days. When my son calls me it just discunect. I'm calling the mayer today, sheriff's department is no help.

They can hold bad guys like it's nobody's business!

They have chosen to go out of their way to make it difficult to visit with or communicate with inmates. Their communications and instructions about what is allowed or is acceptable are lacking, inaccurate, and sloppy. What instructions there are, they are incomplete. It is a frustrating process of learning through hearsay or asking questions after each failed communication attempt.

Great work, keep it up. However please have someone look into your phone lines as they are the worst sounding lines I have heard, all kinds of static.

Our family was greatly honored by a visit from Sheriff Richardson, Captain Butcher, J Jensen and a senior officer from the County Paramedics to the bedside of my son Steven Lewis who suffered a major heart attack Monday evening. They showed great concern for "one of their own" even though he had only been on the job for 2 days. Thankfully he is recovering quickly.

When I was in this place in 2005 I was assaulted by another inmate you think the jail or guards did anything about it nope, I have regretted not sueing them for what happened to me. When I was booked in in 2009 my wallet was on the inventory sheet when I got out of prison in 2014 and was going throu the box of my stuff my mom picked up from the jail, my wallet was not nowhere to be found. A cop at this jail is a thief. They think that they are above the law here and can get away with whatever they want.

Well I was here to pick up my buddy for aggravated assault on a minor and while I was here the environment was just so beautiful that I decided to go out commit a crime and come on back for the sake of tax payers hard earned cash and some new friends

The Davis County Sheriff's Office has demonstrated corruption at the highest level, the Sheriff was caught committing several felonies but while others falling under his command, have been demoted, suspended, given the option to retire or be terminated. Sheriff Todd Richardson is being allowed to finish his time as the Sheriff of Davis County because the council doesn't want anymore bad publicity and claims that there would not be enough reason to file charges against the Sheriff. The Sheriff who has misused, lost, embessled and has allowed this practice to be done by his subordinates, in exchange for favors and other perks. He has even paid hours of unpaid leave to a employee as hush money. Not only is he guilty of contributing to black mail, fraud extortion and other violations of the law. He has been committing these crimes using money that is provided by the Tax Payers of the citizens he has sworn to protect. For almost 8 years he has been misusing country funds, the tax payers money. But after being caught and it being confirmed the Sheriff has violated the law. The county commission is allowing him to finish his term. Giving the Sheriff the option of retiring and not running for Sheriff again. He will still receive a very large pension, at least over 50 to 70% of his ending salary this is over $60 to $80 thousand dollars. He will continue to earn at the age of retirement or even sooner if he buys out the remaining years. He will serve no jail time and the tax payers will be forced to continue paying a man who did not have there safety as a priority. He spent more money on toys for the few high ranking select, which consisted of people who hardly left sitting behind a desk. While those who go out and do the work to keep people safe. Where left with the scraps. He would buy new ATVs, and vehicles for personal use for some while allowing his patrol, civil and corrections divisions to become grossly understaffed. Unmanaged and creating additional issues for employeess such as sexual harassment and misconduct so prevelant. That many employees would simply stop coming In, preferring to lose there jobs then be subject to another day of the mistreatment. The Sheriff and the officers who are guilty of violations must be held accountable and if the county commission does not do what is right and serve the people of Davis County not the county commissions personal interest. Then the people need to began the process of disbanding Davis County Sheriff's Office, those who are good at there jobs and serve the people. Will be ok, those who are corrupt will not be able to reenter into law enforcement. Agencies are aware of whos who when if comes to certified correction and law enforcement officers. And the funds which should have been used to manage the correctional facility will actually be used for the intended purpose. Don't allow those who violate the law to walk away from justice, because they are high ranking and I'm power. The county commission needs to do what's right, if they refuse then the people who put them in power need to remind them they serve the people of Davis County not themselves.

I support all the brave men, & women, who go out & risk their lives protecting us... everyday. Thank You! We want, & need our Utah Police forces.

Seperate service for everything, phone, load money, email( still not set up), video visit. Its a joke. I will say the guard that is at the visiting on site is always very nice and helpful.

Officer handled the situation very poorly. Pulled me over and said I was on my phone, I told him I wasn't on my phone and he replied " I don't know why you're lying to me". Seems like they just pull you over to abuse power and harass. I'll be handling this matter in court.

Just had an officer stop by and make me aware my garage door was open. During the holidays to feel this type of being looked over means a lot.thank you Davis county!
