I am part of DaVinci's graduating class of 2014, and I've been going to this school since my 9th grade year. Before that, I attended Ogden Preparatory Academy, a school with many restrictions and rules that didn't do a whole lot of good at all. Coming to DaVinci felt a bit like leaving a military academy and joining some kind of youth program. DaVinci's students are culturally and stylistically diverse. You may think that this would bring an abundance of cliques and exclusive friend groups... but it doesn't. What brings it all together is DaVinci's flexible and likable teachers, all of whom enjoy their job immensely, and are happy to help the students, privately or in-class. There are so many unique classes to take, all with the best teachers, and that makes all the difference. We are connected, and it honestly feels like a family. In four years, I've seen future world-changers graduate, I've been impacted personally by my ambitious classmates. I can only imagine what lives that I've impacted and what people have looked up to me.

I wouldn't trade my experience with DaVinci's teachers for the world, because they respect us and love us, and they believe that learning the material is just as important as learning the life-lessons and social or moral values that can be drawn from it. If a teacher is ever hired who doesn't care about this stuff, they won't last long. A couple years, at most, unless they're really bad.

No, this school isn't completely without bullies, but -- let's face it -- neither is life, and however hard we might oppose the unfairness in life, it will still be there. To me, these past four years have been incredible and exciting. I've made friends, and I've made close friends. I've faced challenges with people like me. I've learned English, math, science, history, computers, design, publications, drawing, ceramics... but I've also learned Life. I've learned to make friends, I've learned to come out of my shell, I've learned to help people, I've learned to make a difference, I've learned to empathize, I've learned to forgive, I've learned to endure, and I've learned to take courage. All of these things will stay with me until the day I die, and this little review only scratches the surface.

In short, it s a good school. Send your kids there. They will lose a little of their precious innocence, which is, of course, heartbreaking. But they will grow up. In the end, it all adds up to a valuable experience. Their future will come together.

EDIT: I must admit that the food at DaVinci is sorely lacking. They go by Utah's minimum health and portion requirements, and stop there. Sometimes they don't even get that far. It's really only the fault of the kitchen team. They need to get some better cooks, or at least put away the frozen PBJ's for good.

I love this school. Before I came to DaVinci I was a quiet, shy and in my own shell kind of student. Once I came to DaVinci I was more exposed to a different kind of place, and it is quite interesting! The diversity here is wonderful. The theater program is superb and just, it feels professional for a high school theater troop. Like it is amazing.

This is one of the worst schools. If you are getting bullied, they don't do anything. If you aren't as smart as another kid the principal favors the other person. I really don't recommend this school unless you are wanting your time wasted.

This school is the best place in the city to go to. The teachers WANT you to learn and are willing to help you succeed, many of the kids get great opportunities for college (+ many feild trips to said colleges)

The kids are the best are are the most welcoming students you may ever know. We get more breaks throughout the year (but yes that does mean our summer break is about a week or two shorter), and the assemblies are some of the funnest I've been to throughout my school years as well.

This place is like one big family, everyone knows everyone, WAAAYYY better than say Mt. Ogden Jr. High or High School, or Mt. Fort or-HECK any other school in the area!

I know it's said to be on the 30 worst schools, but I honestly think it's because it's a pretty communistic school. (Please go educate yourself on it if you think communism is only a bad thing and that it means we support nazis or something, BECAUSE IT IS NOT). Whoever put THIS school on THAT list, is a god damn mad man and doesn't know what they're talking about.

I cannot stress this enough. If you're a new parent or kid who moved here, please please PLEASE go here. You'll be saving yourself a LOT of hardship!

Davinci doesn't just teach your same old math and science, they teach real life skills and knowledge that prepares us for the real world.

Great school in general, excellent (and young) teachers as well as a very diverse group of kids. The building itself warrants a 5-star review. The arts classes (especially photography) are amazing. Althogh the lunches are what you would expect from a public school.

Awesome school. The teachers and staff really care about the success and well-being of the students.
Everyone is treated like an equal, regardless of who or what they are.

This is my 5th year associated with the school and it just keeps getting better and better.

Edit: Time for the rewrite. School isn t bad but definitely better options out there. Public middle schools are definitely better, and there are better options for High Schools nowadays. Building is quite old and frankly public highschools like Ogden High and Weber High (as well as WIHS) have much better athletics and academics. The college credits are great at the latter, the former has one of the best IB programs in the state.

The kids going here may be a bad influence, vaping was pretty normal among my grade and most kids were very foul mouthed. Not a bad option but go to the local HS or NUAMES.

We began in DaVinci Academy this year with our daughter in first grade. We are LOVING it!! Monday was theater, Tuesday was art, Wednesday was music, and Thursday was gym. So much enrichment, so much learning. My daughter gets in the car every day after school talking about what she learned - math, reading, writing. She is happy and I am happy. Loving this charter school!

Da Vinci is such a great school. Great for kids with artistic talents. The class sizes are usually pretty small so you can form a close relationship with your teachers. Very socially accepting of everyone!

The school is just great in general. Teachers want you to succeed in your topics, and they also teach YOU responsibility. I've come here since the 6th grade and had from then on found the satisfaction I needed (and get as a result of coming here).

Most of my time had been mainly at private schools (Layton Christian Academy and Wasatch Christian School), and one online school (K-12). As you could maybe see, I was a tad anxious being into an actual (charter/public like) school. However, as I got to make more friends and do well in topics, I've now taught myself enough responsibility to excel in certain topics.

Of course, there's going to be bullies (even I've been a bit blatant and disrespectful at times. Sorry, people!), anywhere you go there will be some. Getting past that, the school does have strict discipline. Being a martial artist and never wanting to hurt someone, I've only had to defend people a couple of times. (And myself!) The principal told me though, that if all necessary, "defend yourself.". Sure, I might get suspended, but it would be a last resort if I were to defend myself.

I've even been respected by the principal, given the name "Hoffmeister". That I enjoy. And being accepted (and even hugged on occasion by a couple girls) has really made my experience a great one. I still scratch my head, asking, "Why didn't I come here earlier?".

Only major thing to complain about is the quality of some lunches. I have had a couple of them, so for me it's not terrible. Others who have stuck to the lunches tremble in what they likely describe a "god-awful taste that makes a vomit-inducing stomach the result". To combat that, just take a sack lunch if you can.

Yes, I do recommend the school. Why are you still reading this? Send your kids here.

Davinci didn't just teach the normal high school curriculum, they taught life skills and knowledge that would prepare us and be relevant to our future.
Having been both to a public high school and here, I can say Davinci is the best school you can go to; it's smaller than other schools which allows the teachers and students to have more one-on-one, leading the teachers to earnestly care for your future.
All the students know one another, making the atmosphere feel like a family; some members you love, some you hate.

I love this school, as a person who's dealt with trust issues and being a bit of an introvert, the school is pretty decent. The staff is nice to an extent, and the school is clean, and pretty cool.

I love this school I became friends with so many people that are so much older than me. I became friends with one of my teachers cause the he was so chill with the students. He does focus on helping with the students but still want to get familiar with them. I do recommend this school to any students who are having a rough time in a public school.

DaVinci Academy has been an amazing learning environment for my high-school aged son. The teachers are extremely caring, the class sizes aren't too big, and the kids all seem to really get along. I am so fortunate that my son went here for the last 2 years of high school. It has literally changed his path for the future and he is excited about college. There are so many opportunities for every child to excel and be a part of something great. I love this school!

DaVinci has been an amazing school for us. We have a high achieving 9th grader that started at DaVinci in the 7th grade after the private school he was attending closed. He has been in the honors program since he began at DaVinci and we have been extremely pleased with the personal attention that he gets from each of his teachers and the administration. He has had top scores on his state testing, has gone to state in the science fair for two years in a row and has had leadership positions in student government. He is able to participate in theater, as well as robotics, Academic Decathlon and Engish Quest. He has had outstanding teachers and councilors that are helping to guide him on his college bound path. Thumbs up, DaVinci!

Before I came to school I was bullied to the point where I was suicidal. When I came to the school they had amazing counselors such as Mr.Kortman, he made a plan to work with me after school to help with grades and any issues that happen in life. With his help I went from D's and F's to all A's. The schools lunch is better than most schools I've been to. The assemblies we have are some of my favorite events. One of them is the assembly that was made to help relieve stress in students called boys vs. girls. Just like it sounds its a assembly dedicated to a gender war. the school also has a good music program for the size of our school. The teachers here are able to work with students in class compared to larger class rooms. The thing you'll hear from almost all the students is that DaVinci is a family. Everybody pretty much knows each other and there's almost no bullying issues, and if there is it only seems to happen with the newcomers to DaVinci. Parents if you want a place where you feel your child will be safe DaVinci is the place. I know that when have a child DaVinci Academy will be the school I send them to.

I've been going to DaVinci since my 7th grade year and I've loved the atmosphere that I have felt the past six years! I used to be bullied before I came to DaVinci because I was unique. I'm glad I will be graduating from DaVinci as the class of 2016! DaVinci is a great place for your children to feel welcomed and appreciated!

In all honesty, DaVinci is a godsend. I personally have always been very shy and very reserved, up until my 9th grade year, when I started here at DaVinci. This school is honestly one of the most amazing places I've ever gone. The teachers genuinely care about your education, the students are usually some of the kindest and most accepting people there are, and the theater and art programs are astounding. It was here where I learned how to love myself and be myself without being worried about what other people think of me. I love DaVinci.

Its a great school and I love being there but I'm really disappointed by the lunches (I know its a very common complaint but hear me out) The portioning is awful, some people get more of the main course, some people get less, and people farther back in the line get a frozen peanut butter and jelly sandwich. That's not fair. The kitchen should work on their portioning so that we can all get the same amount. I have one more lunch complaint and then I'll go, I'm incredibly annoyed by the fact that we get a short lunch and on some days the kitchen takes 10 minutes of our lunch time to set up. I know they have a large portion of the day to get ready, so why do they shorten our lunches even more by setting up last minute? I have walked past the kitchen before and they've just been sitting there chatting. Are they wasting their time catching up on gossip and causing me to have a shorter lunch? What the heck!?

I recently visited for The Wizard of Oz. The school is tidy, but the walls are littered with pro Communism posters. This school is listed as one of the 30 worst high schools in Utah.

Carried? Do you know how big of brain you need to play Snake? In order to play Snake, I need to skillfully navigate my thumb to the red circular mechanism and apply force to it carefully. Not only that, I have to adjust the gray movement adjustment module over the opponent. Finally I have to stand there in complete silence in order to showcase my T E C H S K I L L. Sometimes, I even go do this TWICE. So go ahead and call me carried with your pea sized brain. I'll be laughing as i ascend.
