David Alan was our wedding catering company and they are great! Not only the food was so great that a lot of guests talked about it with us after, Meghan and the lady onsite for us that day were very pleasant to work with. They helped us with our table plan, answered general questions about wedding and communicate with the venue so we don't have to go back and forth. On the big day, the staffs helped us with the table centerpieces we brought ourselves and they did it perfectly. The guests were happy with the food and were taken good care of during the dinner. We are so happy we found them and trust on their professionalism.

David Alan Caterers did an outstanding job for my daughter's wedding. The food was creative and delicious, our guests raved. The services was excellent - responsive, considerate and super professional. I will definitely use David Alan Caterers again.
We ordered Passover dinner for 5 and it was amazing! The number of items included is generous (we had leftovers-Yum!) as were the portion sizes. He thought of everything and that made our holiday a pleasure. The food was so delicious and fresh. We will be back for other holidays!
The place is a bit of a find. My first time there and other than the fact that the name sounds like it should be a hair salon it's a pretty good little lunch place. 4 out of 5 stars is actually a very good rating from me. I will definitely be back and look forward to trying additional items that they have to offer.
Hired for a family bbq. We included a griller and he did a great job preparing, serving and cleaning up. Good food, good service and pricing was reasonable. Would use them again!

I am sad to have to write this review, however David Alan personally let me and my family down this Christmas 2018. I know that a lot of you know me that live in the area and while I don't normally write negative reviews on any other company, I feel compelled to write this one, since David was involved and told me that he would make things right, which he did not. My Sister Alexandra ordered a tray of 8-10 Beef Wellington's for my family's 2018 Christmas Dinner in Baltimore and she did it on November 26, 2018. She picked the order up on Saturday December 22, 2018. One of the employees put it in my Sister's car and when she arrived in Baltimore for our family gathering, she brought the tray inside. I looked at it and thought this is not what we ordered. When I took the cover off of the tray, it was a long Filet Mignon that had some seasoning on it. My Sister immediately called David Alan and left a message on their voice mail Saturday evening. By Sunday morning at 9AM her message had not been returned and she called again and spoke with an employee that asked her questions about her order. She explained to the employee what had happened and he said he would call her back. He got his boss David Alan involved and he called her back again to get more details. When David called my Sister he was further questioning her about what happened and after his review realized that they made a mistake. However, he also said that she had a Filet that was worth $179.00 verses the $89.00 for the order that she placed. He then said that they were going to make things right and my Sister asked me to get on the phone with David, which I did. I spoke to David and he assured me that he was sorry and planned to make things right by sending an over night (FedEx) of the original order that my Sister made with them. I was pleased that David had personally got involved and believed that he would make things right. After all, it was my idea at Thanksgiving to have Beef Wellington for our family Christmas Dinner and my Sis recommended David Alan's place knowing that they have great food, which they do. My Sister did not hear from David Alan as of 9:11PM Sunday December 23, so she sent him a text to get the tracking number for his promised shipment. He responded this morning at 6:21AM saying that he had tried to make things right, but that FedEx couldn't guarantee the shipment or temperatures or whatever. Why did he wait 12 hours to let us know that it wasn't happening? It seemed strange to me since Omaha Steaks ships beef all over the world using dry ice, but whatever. If I hadn't spoke to David Alan myself, I probably wouldn't have written this blog, but he promised that he would make things right to me for my family for Christmas. David, my personal message to you is that if you make promises, keep them especially when your company made mistakes and you are in the food business. My family was counting on you to do the right thing,since you promised that you would do especially at Christmas. I will certainly never use your company again. Why would I support a company that doesn't keep their word regardless of how great the food is that's prepared? Christmas is a family gathering David, and you should have kept your word even if it meant sending a delivery down by car....
The response below from the so called owner David Alan isn't even real...I called the catering place after his message was put on Google 5+ months after the disastrous event, and after a week of me leaving a message to contact David Alan I received this message after I left my name and number...Either this guy is a complete Moron, or he has people working for him trying to make his reviews seem all good and friendly...This place David Alan is a complete joke....Please go to the Photos section and look at the text messages sent back and forth....What a joke!
The food is absolutely delicious!! I ordered lunch boxes for some local heroes and was helped by Mary. Mary was awesome and completed my order in a professional and timely manner. I received a complimentary lunch box from David so I could see the presentation and try the food that I purchased for the local heroes. I was completely blown away! They were prompt, professional and the local heroes LOVED the FOOD and SERVICE! My box was amazing! I received a breaded chicken cutlet sandwich with condiments. Also inside my box was a pasta salad and a fruit salad. But, it didn't end there, I also had 2 of the most delicious cookies I have ever tasted and a bag of chips. I was so happy with the quality, taste and amount of food that I received. I also wanted to try the takeout dinners. I ordered chicken marsala, chicken parmesan, garlic shrimp, penne vodka, rice and salads. Wow! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, it did. The food is truly amazing! I am pleased with the food, service and most of all, the humble demeanor of the owners. You are treated like family here!! Thank you David Alan Caterers!
David Alan are my go to caterers for my offices in Florham Park. Always on time, beautiful presentation, professional staff and the food is always good ! I have ordered from them for 10+ of meetings and events and will continue to do so. Thank you DA !
I heard of this place from a friend and decided to try it for lunch. I decided on the build your own bowl/ salad. I picked my favorite vegetables, proteins, toppings and dressing. A hefty serving and my ingredients in my bowl we re well mixed which I really liked. The ingredients were fresh and tasted good. Very clean energy for the body. Will buy again.
Had the pleasure working with Larry and David...offsite corporate event for 80 people...couldn't have picked a better caterer! They worked with me over the phone for the entire (seamless!) planning. They did full setup and breakdown/cleanup. Food was great. Would definitely use again!
Since I first connected to put together my event with Lisa I was really impressed by her attention to detail and the time she dedicated to following up and making sure we had everything we needed.
Elmer arrived on time and ready to go. He was prepared with everything and took charge with pulling it all together and setting everything up. He was extremely professional and I noticed the level of care he took to make sure everything went smoothly and everyone had what they needed. He was knowledgeable about all the food being served and I was able to sit back and enjoy my company because I knew he had everything under control.
I truly look forward to hosting my next gathering and having the David Allen team there.
Great place to meet for lunch with lots of choices. Tasty special sandwiches, premade and customized salads, hot entrees. Nice to go to a local place instead of a chain.
Fantastic Passover catering! Our first time using David Alan and we would definitely return. All foods were well prepared, great quality and delicious. Service from Doris and their staff was A+
I LOVE THEIR FOOD!!! What I LOVE even more is the fact that Stacy(the owner) reached out to me personally to apologize for the small mix up with my sandwich. I called in and ordered a breakfast sandwich (bacon & egg) which apparently they no longer make. When I arrived to my office, I opened the sandwich to find it had cheese on it. I called in to the location, asked to speak with a manager and spoke to Stacy...Well, she apologized profusely for the SMALL mix up and she did explain that the gentleman that took my call was NEW and that they no longer made breakfast sandwiches however, because I had already ordered and I was a regular she made the sandwich for ME anyway. In addition, she had it delivered to my office! It was perfect! I have been eating at this location for a long time and the food is always fresh and always good. The point system they have for free food is awesome as well! One day I walked in and Mr. Alan himself was walking around serving the patrons that had to go orders...slices PIZZA! This place will always get my business and the company I work for loves them too!
Besides my grandmothers cooking, this was absolutely the best holiday (Passover) meal that we ever had. Every piece of the packaged dinner was great. It was the most complete, best, delicious, well packaged and best prepared meal that we have ever had.
It included everything we needed and wanted in one box. Everyone was impressed and stuffed. I wouldn t change or try to improve anything.
