Great club, lots of stuff going on, helpful and friendly staff and members. Also a great selection of club boats available at a price. Sunday club racing all year round, with a few big regattas and events too. Pretty easy to get too (as long as the M25 is OK!).

Fantastic amenity. Was a real sanctuary for many years. To have this kind of spot is just superb. Friendly staff. Great facilities. Couldn't fault it. Go to check out the views even if you don't sail.

The largest area of unrestricted sailing water in ...

The largest area of unrestricted sailing water in West London with easy launching at all times even for Flying Fifteen keel boats and heavier dinghies such as the Wayfarer. Racing for all classes of boat takes place on Sundays as well as Wednesday evenings during the summer, with additional special events being run throughout the year. Races are fun, safe and well organised, with safety cover provided at all times by volunteer well qualified coxswains. If racing is not your thing you can have a leisurely sail on most days with Windsor Castle as a back drop. Fleets are social and enjoy chatting before and after racing usually over a breakfast or Lunch which is available at the club s Galley. There are spectacular panoramic views towards Windsor castle of all on-water activities from the comfort of the elevated dry lounge.
An on-site chandlery is available where you can buy any bits, bobs and kit you may need.
New members are made welcome and opportunities for crewing and training are readily available through fleet captains. The club runs a range of RYA sailing courses organised by the on-water Manager and his team. Their expertise and attention to safety at all levels ensure an excellent and enjoyable experience for all participants, some of whom progress to sail with the club fleets.

Attempted to join as a member of the club, with the aim to learn to sail. My emails were ignored and I found it incredibly hard to speak to anyone at the club. My suggestions were not taken well. My family now use Silver Wing Sailing Club.

We are sailing again at Datchet after lockdown!
Wonderful wide-open water and friendly club members to help all of us on and off the water. Come and join us! Club boats available to hire too.

I sailed at this place for one of the optimist zones squad selections, after high winds cancelled any hope of racing in Weymouth. Although at first I was sceptical about its inland position with the high winds, often making for a unreliable venue, the size of the reservoir allowed time for the shifts to even out, allowing for some very competitive and close sailing. The club itself was small, but well equipped and everyone was welcoming and friendly.

I have been a member of three sailing clubs and DWSC is by far the best. It has good facilities excellent staff and training manager. The training courses are good and include power boat training. It has regular weekly racing. The facilities are modern. The fleets are varied and can probably cater for most sailing interests.Highly recommended.

I and a friend visited Datchet last week to see their solar panel and water source heat pump arrangement. We were very impressed by the kind and knowledge members who looked after us all day. A lovely day out and extremely usefull.
