Let me put it this way. I agree 100% with no doubt that this place has I'LM (Knowledge) but to get that I'LM, you have to go through a lot as mentioned in the other reviews, if they arent deleted by now. (cough, cough - Barkatullah- cough, cough)

Jazakumullah khairan for the kind reviews, may Allah reward you all and accept us for the sake of his deen in both worlds. As for those who write against it, they should be careful, here the deen of Allah is being taught. Mr. Zazi (who besides complaining, is still our student, and hopefully he remains as we are happy with him), if you come late everyday and never come up when called then obviously you'll only learn surah Fatihah, and funny how you pointed out "read, read, read" as a complaint, it was the very same instruction given to the Messenger (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam). As for mr. Loki, the very person you praised (tanwir) is a graduate of Duny and the other institutions you praised are closely linked and themselves praise Duny so your guilty of double standards. Those who really want to know should come visit us here in Darul Uloom new York.

*PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS*
My little sisters went to this school for about 1 and a half year. I feel like this school does not even properly teach the foundation of Islam. They are taking The meaning away from Islam at this school. I wish I can put 0 stars. My sisters were not allowed to wear their own gold rings and would get it taken away. I was told that when visitors were come to the school, the students had to clean the bathrooms and my sister had to even scrub the walls with towels. One time, my sister had to write a paragraph 1,000 times for the misbehavior of the other students and when my mother heard about this, she called the teacher personally and the teacher was scared and claimed she gave lollipops to the students. When my mom tried contacting the school the next day, they shut the phones off because many parents were calling the school. My father had to pay $200 monthly for lunch and they did not even eat school lunch. Also, the girls are forced to wear niqab and niqab is not forced upon woman in Islam since niqab is not mandatory. Teachers would get one student and force the student to snitch on other students social media accounts, this happened to one of my sisters. They would find Instagram accounts of the students from school and suspend the students. This is not fair because whatever the students do outside of school is their business.PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE SENDING YOUR CHILD/ SISTER / NIECE / NEPHEW ANYONE HERE!
It's a madrasa based on hanafi Fiqah. Boys Hifz is very good. Make sure your son doesn't stay with bad students. Because they cursed a lot. For some reason teachers don't talk about it.
Excellent institution for those who wants to learn quran with proper tajweed, Hifz and Ilm with complete Sunnah. it is the complete institution that are strong on sunnah. There is no other institution in NYC that can teach you the Deen with complete Sunnah. when you visit you will see by yourself. you will not find any teacher who is not following sunnah. I will give 5 stars when comparing with other institutions, after visiting most of the institutions in NYC.
Very good institution . I love the way they teach , all the kids r very well manners , thats the most important thing u need for your kids to grow as a good human , no public schools can provide that ..

If i could give zero stars, I would. Apparently there are no academics in this school & its been heard that they abuse the kids mentally as well as physically. You're better off sending your kids to the mosque for islamic studies.
It is asome and is a very good place to learn the quaran and duas and other stuff
If I could give this place negative stars i would. My brother got physcially abused by the teachers at this school and they recieved no consequences for doing so; all the other adults either ignored it or looked the other way and the children hushed! I am BAFFLED that IN 2020 they still beat kids for making mistakes, and any decent human being would know that is is NOT OK and this is NOT A GOOD FORM OF LEARNING! Children learn beahvior through the action of adults and they manifest this behavior when they are adults themselves. They display their emotions through unhealthy means like anger, hatred and violence to those around them and it then makes me laugh why many parents don't understand why their child act this way when the authority figures in their own lives have displayed such behavior from the start. In addition, there are some serious consequences on their mental health. My brother suffered through much depression (YES IT IS A REAL) while staying at this school that he stated he wished it could all end altogether. There is a no technology policy felt and lack of contact with family and friends (all teachnology and cell phones are taken away). IT is a struggle even to see them due to the schoo's policy. THESE KIDS ARE NOT ANIMALS IN CAGES! They are there to have a well rounded religious education to that of what true islam teaches. THIS PLACE FEELS VERY BACKWARDS!
I agree with other reviewers that they make the students turn on eachother and if they do not cooperate then there is some form of punishment! What type of environment does that create within the facility? and among the children; bullying and more hatred of course! THIS IS 2020 and I still can't believe this type of behavior is happeneing from 'teachers' that are supposed to teach students how to be kind, caring (what islam really teaches you) but instead making living a hell for the kids. SOME OF THE TEACHERS ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO BE AROUND CHILDREN.
The living conditions are a joke with every boy cramped into one room sleeping, on floors and no privacy. They also make the kids clean the bathroom and ther locations, making some excuse they they need to do so. HORRIBLE PLACE! Be warned they might try to delete bad reviews!
Overall, Ask yourself this, would the Prophet (peace be upon him) smile at the behavior of the adults in this school and the conditions within? Deep down you know the answer but you are choosing to stay silent.
