Ideal living quarters for students going to USC on...

Ideal living quarters for students going to USC on the Health Science Campus! Love that every individual gets a private bathroom and room, awesome recreational amenities such as 24 hour gym, ping pong table, billiard table, and swimming pool. Only downside-parking is not included in the lease, parking garage is owned by USC so school parking permits must be purchased. But, the cost of that permit definitely outweighs cost of gas for a commute from anywhere in LA! Definitely recommend, awesome office and maintenance! Will miss them all when I leave...

Currie Hall has been my home away from home since I first started living here last year when they opened. It s a super convenient place to stay if you are one of the health science students like med, pharmacy, PT, or OT. Currie is literally a 10-15 minute walk and you re on campus. I highly, highly recommend this housing community to anyone looking for some student housing.

Leo from maintenance is so helpful! Not only does he always make a point to say hi in the halls, but any time I've needed maintenance work done he has always been so efficient and kind! I appreciate all your help Leo!

I've been a resident since Currie Hall opened last year and it's been a great place to live. There's plenty of useful amenities such as the study rooms (not to mention free printing) and the gym, which are always kept clean. The rooms come fully furnished and if there is anything that is ever wrong or broken in your apartment, you can always report it and someone will come fix it within a day or so. It's a safe place to live and within walking distance of the USC HSC campus. I would say one of the few downsides is having to live next to the train, which can get kind of loud or annoying sometimes especially if your apartment faces that direction.

Currie Hall is a fantastic modern building with amenities any student needs! Their always friendly staff makes a huge difference! They include almost all utilities in the cost so you're not stuck with several bills owed to several companies. I'm super excited for Phase 2 to open in July as well!

Given you attend classes on HSC it is an amazing location. I walk less than a block to class. We also have arts district, little tokyo, and dtla within 10-15 mins of driving. The apartment itself is very safe and extremely clean. They do a really good job of keeping things neat. The staff is very friendly and personable. Price is completely reasonable as well especially taking into account all the amenities. I would most definitely recommend anyone going to school here to live at Currie Hall.

Currie Hall is a fabulous place to live! The staff is super kind and efficient. Leo, our maintenance staff, is always friendly and helpful. He responds very fast to work orders and always says good morning to our residents :D Everyone, from the front desk to the leasing office to our maintenance, is part of the reason that makes Currie Hall a great housing option for students at Keck.

Currie Hall is the most beautiful apartment complex that I ve ever lived in. Not only are the staff magnificent, but the residents are nothing but fantastic. I use the temperate pool and spa very frequently, and even on my most busy days I know I can come down and use Currie Hall s 5-star gym. When I m not grilling on the weekends (they have barbecues) or studying in the premier learning center, I enjoy sitting on my balcony and enjoying the picturesque view that surrounds the Currie property. Cannot speak highly enough of this fantastic establishment.

Update: Currie Hall is now housing some clinicians from Keck who may be coming into contact with COVID patients, and has only recently made residents aware of this change after pressure from the school of medicine to do so.

Pros:
Currie Hall is an okay housing option for those attending USC on the Health Science Campus. They offer single, double, tipple, and quadruple housing options. In each apartment, you have your own room and bathroom, but share a kitchen and living room with your other housemates.

Because you are so close to HSC, you can leave minutes before class and still arrive on time. The convenience is hard to beat. The common areas have a pool, pool table, ping-pong table, jacuzzi, fireplace, and study area. The amenities are great.

The staff is also great; both front desk and maintenance. They are always friendly and try to help.

Cons:
Rent is fairly expensive for what your getting, and they seem to raise it around 80-90 dollars each year. Units seem to cost around 1100-1400 per month, excluding the cost of electricity (15-35 per month). Given this high price (and rising) other options such as an apartment in Pasadena or Alhambra are starting to seem better. Although, this would mean a commute, you would be paying hundreds of dollars less for rent.

As I mentioned, the amenities are great, however there are commonly issues with them. Pool cues are missing and tips or are broken (except for 1 or 2), there is free printing, but it is common for there to be no paper, and the sauna breaks many times throughout the year leaving it cold.

Additionally, mail pickup is only during weekdays business hours, this means if you are working a clinical rotation for your program and cannot get to the office during the week, you can't get your mail, unless you have a friend get it for you.

Parking is also an issue, it costs hundreds of dollars a semester and parking in adjacent neighborhoods could be dangerous.

It is generally, not safe to walk outside of the campus here, meaning if you want to do something you need to Uber or drive somewhere else (check crime maps for yourself). There have been shootings and gang activity outside the campus area here.

Lastly, and the biggest concern, the noise level at Currie is much too high (during the day and night). Currie hall is right next to train tracks with a crossing. This means, there are regular loud train horns throughout the day and night (yes, even at 3am). The trains will also idle on the tracks and screech as they pass. (See the attached figure).

This noise is compounded by the new construction projects even closer than the train (which go all day and continue into the weekend), loud helicopters landing at hospital and at the LAPD headquarters, noisy park events. And one thing especially important to note, Currie hall will be building a new location even closer to the train crossing (20 feet away). I feel bad for anyone that has to live there. Be cautious when signing the least. They will likely not tell you what unit you will be receiving until after you sign (then giving you an undesirable unit, close to trains, with a high turnover rate).

I love living here at Currie Hall. It is super convenient and right next to USC's Health Science Campus. Some of the best parts about Currie Hall are: a). the amenities - each unit comes fully furnished, the complex has as beautiful swimming pool, good gym, study rooms, and common rooms b). the staff here are incredible. Everyone here is friendly, helpful, and they all do their best to make this place your home. The facilities are all well kept, work orders are quickly fixed, and you feel well taken care of here. Would 10/10 recommend.

Leo from maintenance is always so helpful and goes above and beyond. Call him in for a work order and he's on the case! He is quick, knowledgable, tidy, and gets the job done right all with a positive attitude.

Everyone who works and lives at Currie is so welcoming, kind, and friendly. Great people in a beautifully built apartment has made my time at Currie amazing. Sometimes there are difficulties with the free internet but customer service is great and they try to fix them when they can. Providing free printing, a gym, a pool/jacuzzi, and other activities for residents to do is definitely a plus. Overall, I could not have asked for a better place to stay during my time in graduate school.

I'm a student at the Health Sciences Campus at USC and I've lived here for the past year and a half. The location is wonderfully convenient and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I love that there is a pool and a gym right in the building, and the study space is wonderful as an alternative to the library on campus. I'm also pleased that each room has an in-unit washer/dryer, dishwasher - these conveniences have made living at Currie Hall very easy. Work orders are fixed very quickly, usually within a day or two. I love that I'm able to walk to class in 5 minutes.

The downsides are that the nearby train crossing can be quite loud, and while I fortunately live on the side of the building where the noise is muffled, I can still hear the whistle. Additionally, Currie Hall is located in a food desert, meaning that the nearest grocery stores are still a 10-15 min drive away. If you have a car, this isn't a problem, but if you don't, it can complicate things.

Overall, I have really liked living here and the community has been great - it was a wonderful way to socialize with my classmates during the first two years of my academic program. I highly recommend living here if you're interested in the convenience of being close to campus and want to be immersed in a student community.

Very convenient location for students as Currie Hall is next to DTLA, and right across the street from the USC Health Sciences Campus. Has all the amenities such as gym, study room and lounge area. All the facilities are very well-maintained and all the staff are extremely nice.

I ve enjoyed my experience living at Currie the last year and a half. I love the accessibility to the health science campus (with the shuttle to the main campus) and amenities that Currie offers. The bedrooms in the apartments are great sizes for an individual and so is the roommate matching system. Currie is a great place to live at if you like accessibility to campus and enjoying the amenities it offers.

Lived here for a year and a half. Great amenities, very clean, friendly staff. Slightly overpriced especially considering all the appliances, furniture, flooring, blinds, etc are all very cheap/ poorly designed, but they do the job. Ex. There is a 1-2cm gap between the floor and the metal door frame leading to the balcony where bugs/ants will occasionally come in through when it rains but the handyman said they are not able to seal/caulk it.

Great place, in many ways. When I was visiting a friend who lives here, The employee shuttle backed up to my bedroom window every 15 minutes starting around 4 am every weekday. The backup alarm wakes me up every time. The drivers have been spoken to and asked to find a way to turn around instead. There are 1 or 2 ways to do it. They could if they wanted to...

This is a great place to live if you work or are a student on the Health Sciences Campus. The walk to campus is very convenient. The apartment complex itself is modern and clean with many amenities like a gym, a huge pool/bbq area, a tv/game lounge, and study rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful here.

I've been lived in Currie about one and a half years in the 4bed4bathroom type. I am studying at USC health science campus. I really love this place since it's new and very clean, quiet, safe and good facilities for students! I plan to live here until I finish my degree.

Wonderful maintenance crew, especially Leo who when my sink was clogged and then later my bathtub responded quickly, kindly and fixed the problem. Leo is wonderful to have help out when something goes wrong with the apartment!

I have been enjoying living at Currie Hall. I can walk to class on USC Health Science Campus. The room comes furnished and includes your own bathroom. And there are many other facilities available including a gym, study room, pool, etc. It is very clean and a great place to live. My only complaint would be that it is right next to the train so if you are placed on that side of the building, it is very loud and gets some getting used to. Overall, I find Currie Hall very worth it.

It's wonderful and convenient. The staff is very nice. It is very clean and has many amenities. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because rent is expensive and it is rising every year.

Currie Hall is a safe place for students to live. It has modern furnishings and free internet. They have study rooms for group studies and free printing. The swimming pool is a plus! Conveniently located with only a 10 min walk or 3 min shuttle to campus. The staff is always friendly and efficiently addresses any issues!

Currie Hall is an excellent choice for housing. I am very satisfied by the professionalism of the staff, who help to deliver top-notch amenities like a gym, swimming pool, and rec area. The study area was an unexpected bonus and I find that I use the modern, library-like space for studying on a regular basis. The building is quiet. I was initially concerned that I would hear the train from my room, but that hasn't been an issue at all.

I have been living in Currie Hall for a few months now and I have enjoyed it very much. It is very comfortable and convenient for the students who have classes on campus and the amenities they offer are a great bonus. I have already resigned my lease and plan to stay here throughout the rest of my time attending USC.

There is good and bad here but more bad than good unfortunately. I would recommend checking their yelp reviews as well. QUICK WARNING: new residents- TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING when you first move in. It will serve as proof if they try to charge you something. CAREFULLY do the house evaluation form. Please be mindful of which housing you get if you decide on Currie hall. the new building is right next to the train tracks and I would not want that for anyone. Maybe request for the old building. But you can hear the train from here too. What do I like about this housing? Convenient location for class, easy package pickup, and comfortable housing. I particularly enjoy the study room which has free printing as well. Now for the problems, unfortunately there are many. There have been reports of rats in the building, drug use which is ignored, and over charging of students moving out. The noise is quite bad here unless you are facing the pool. It can be extremely loud with the trains and the cars on the street.NOTE: if you are picking housing here, maybe ask for rooms facing the pool too. But that comes with problems when people are partying by the hot tub and pool. The dishonesty and cheating of students is very disappointing. They appear to be placing their maintenance fees on the students as well. The pollution here is quite bad too. There is more I want to write and I will make sure to update more later. I would not recommend this housing to any students. I truly wouldn't and I hope as students, you will be very careful and critical of picking this as your housing. Talk to current students living here. But again, it is close to classes, so maybe it is okay for one year.

I have lived at Currie for a year and a half. I love all the amenities and the friendly staff. I also appreciate how they complete work orders quickly. A pipe had burst in the kitchen above my apartment and water had started to leak through the ceiling. There was a guy immediately at the scene fixing the problem.

I love this apartment! If you're a USC graduate student in the medical field, this place is literally a block away from campus; no need to stress about L.A. traffic! The staff are seriously the best and it's the common areas are SO well kept. And I also have to give props to my man Leo!! I put in a work order to change my lights in my room and he came and did it the same day! Seriously can't see myself moving during my program, this place just has too many good things going for it :)

Apartment style family dorms for graduate, medical, and other students on the health sciences campus of USC. They are newly built and very nice. They also come fully furnished and each bedroom has its own bathroom. They also have a pool, hot tub, gym, pool table, ping pong, and a study room in the building. Great if you're a new student to California but very expensive for a couple.

Overall, I really like living in Currie Hall. It s super convenient for students taking classes at HSC and the facility is super clean and furnished with new appliances and furniture. The management team is also super friendly and helpful. My only complaint really is the proximity to the train.

The apartments are amazing for the price, and it s great having a pool and fitness center so close by. The kitchens and bathrooms are comfortably sized and well furnished. Perhaps the greatest advantage is being so close to classes. As a PT student I m about 200 yards from my classes and get to completely ignore the morning traffic.

The biggest and only significant downside is the WiFi quality, but this appears to be on the providers end, and they have definitely been receptive and active about our feedback.
