Cumberland County Public Library and Information Center Review

The Headquarters Library has a very helpful and friendly staff. The staff at the checkout desk knows me by name, which feels very nice & makes the experience personal and enjoyable. Nancy is always a great help to me along with many other staff members.

I absolutely LOVE the library. I always receive great customer service at every branch. They have great resources and workshops not only for adults, but also for children. Besides books, you can also find videos, movies, music CD's and many other services. You can even learn how to start a business or how to find a job. The best part is that all their resources and services are FREE!

One of the best libraries that I have ever visited. It is very spacious and has a lot of things for children to do outside of sitting and reading a book. We visit here several times per week and enjoy it every time.

Now, some of the shady people that hang out around the building can be intimidating especially when you have young kids that you are trying to corral.

It's convenient to get to and I like that they have plenty of space for you to spread out.

Staff was rude and confrontational. I went in to write my Thesis paper, and was harassed by an employee for blinking in the wrong direction, I kid you not. I love libraries, but the employees here shame the whole industry

I love this library. They have a huge selection and so many programs to join in. Not to mention movie days!

Fayetteville public library is an excellent location for community social activities. This facility has an excellent dvd and cd collection, in addition to the reference books and novels. Their table top computers are arranged to provide some privacy for the users. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and ready to assist you in some computer tasks that you may be attempting. The library offers computer courses for beginners and more. On the whole, it is a very nice place to visit on a regular basis.

TERRIBLE SYSTEM!
No wonder the unfortunates are across the street being feed, with this type of micro system its truly impossible for anyone to apply for a job!
Let alone use a computer.
Emails for jobs are time sensitive and personally...this is just another type of discrimination against people that does not have access to www!

Public library? For who....no one!
Another name to collect peoples money and no reward for the individual HOPING TO BECOME EMPLOYED!

Now I have to wait to get my 1dollar 30 cents back via telephone call.
COST ME MORE THAN THIS TO DRIVE HERE BUT ITS THE PRINCIPLE!

This library should be the ones to feed and house these people that lingers around their grounds

Nice big library. Has a nice upstairs area, and the state room is pretty neat also. They also have artifacts and information to show. Recently, they have started showing Greek history of Fayetteville.

This library has great Libriarian's. They are great resources and so willing to help.

The staff are amazing. Went in for a quick print job and the employee went above and beyond to help me. Amazing location with what seems to be a lot of resources to be utilized. Shady patrons left a smudge on my experience, however, this being my first and only visit, maybe I just caught it on a bad day.

The main library of fayetteville, I am giving this place 5 stars because of the helpful staff, very friendly, always willing to help, but they do have a big problem, the homeless and bums, they use this place like a hangout spot, and honestly there is only so much you can do to get rid of a person if they are not doing anything wrong, it just makes the scene look very bad. They do have security on duty and if they did not, I would be very worried about the state of this place.

The people that work at this library are wonderful! They are very helpful! Lots of Books, DVDs, CDs, etc. to choose from! Many computers to use! Quiet place! Beautiful views lf down town Fayetteville from library! Nice place to get useful job information and things to do with your kids! A++++ in my opinion!

Studying right now, and the library is so quiet and tranquil, honestly my favorite place to study is on the top floor, great temperature, clean, and gorgeous view of the Cape Fear River

My second home. When I can't concentrate at home, I come here to get focused.

If I could 0 stars I would . Everyone ALWAYS has an attitude when I come here besides the short Caucasian guy with glasses and a mustache who usually helps me prints my papers . But besides him everyone always has an attitude and a janitor is always messing with somebody , looking to snitch on somebody .

I honestly love this library. It s one of my favorites in Fayetteville, and the main one I go to despite living within walking distance of another one. They have lots of activities for people of all ages but especially young children. I took a book back because they had it put in the wrong place, and the lady who works on the system for shelving came up and talked with me, said thanks for pointing it out. It was really a good experience for me. The computer system is kind of outdated, but the people who monitor them are good at helping. The homeless people make others uncomfortable, but they re just hanging out the most the time. Not their fault they have nowhere else to go, nor the fault of the library.

Some of the staff walk around with attitudes.Security is always standing around or on their phones. And today a staff member asked me to turn my music down with earbobs in my ear but, they can be loud especially behind the circulation desk. But, the library has quiet signs placed on tables and today I walk in and there's a full conversation going on about VA Benefits. Really, but i'm asked to turn my music down.

I came from Chicago, and in comparison to their local library branches, this library is amazing. Clean, well-organized, computer/print access, and I got to choose from a few editions of Moby Dick on my first visit. They even have self-checkout, and everyone who helped was very friendly. Highly recommended for book lovers!
