Attending this school has been one of the worst, most regrettable decisions of my life. I had never thought nor had I been advised to consider the chair of my major's department, but I'd strongly advise prospective college students to take the chair's personality into consideration. You never know how much their inability to accommodate students will be because of their views.

Lucky I gave the school a star. I want a refund. This is the new high school diploma. I really prefer to call it the Liberal Indoctrination Program. I will trade back my degrees for a full refund, because I can't get my time back.

FYI employers do not check your resumes anymore. I was doing destructive testing at Tesla, and they didn't even know I was a marketing major with degrees in entrepreneurship, tool making, and NC programming. I was using a Sawzall, and rivet gun.

You might as well say you have a doctorate (lie), and save the money going to school. In the real world, it's who is blowing who. Friends, and affirmative action is how you get a good job. Capability has little to do with wage compensation.

Why the indoctrination program? I had an english class where a paper I had written received a grade less than a "c". It was grammatically correct, and I followed the prompts to a tee. The problem was that I referred to the U.S. as a "melting pot", because I think people should assimilate as U.S. citizens. The teacher preferred the term "salad bowl", because everyone is different. I agued my point, because it was correct in MY PAPER in order to prove a point. All to no avail.

To pass the classes, I had to agree. I think I received an "a", or "b".

Also, everything is dumbed down. Almost all tests are multiple choice tests, that are graded on a curve. No mind expanding questions included.

I had a teacher named Robinson that only showed up to half of the classes. She didn't communicate well on top of it. I mean she often gave no response to emails.

There were good teachers. For example, Dr. Steve Ugbah was outstanding, and I had a really good art teacher. That's it!

The administration is the biggest group of overpaid jokes of all time. I will let you find this out yourself. Lol.

BTW, that girl pulling the race card is full of it. The school is primarily minorities, and represents gay people almost to a fault. I thought the school was too politically correct, it felt like you were walking on eggshells constantly. Not a fun commuter school.

Lots of racism, oppression, and prejudices at this institution. Very few are open minded to people of color and the LBTQIA community. My roommates were so racist Blacks and Gays were not permitted in my suit and I was drugged by them during my first year at East Bay.

Specifically to the administration that runs this school. Most departments I have interacted with have been very pleasant and helpful. However, the TESTING OFFICE of all departments, feel bothered when asked questions and condescending. I have emailed and phoned them and every case they appear to be bothered and very stern when asking questions and supply a concern with an issue (the test process). The supervisor was annoyed to speak with me when the intern was unable to answer my question. CSUEB needs to look into this department. I rarely write reviews and after several times dealing with this department warranted a poor review. It seems unfair for the school to be reviewed poorly by the testing department dragging them down.

This is my third quarter here in CSU East Bay and I am really loving my experience here. This is a campus that has both diverse students and faculty members. I am a business major and have really enjoyed almost all the classes I have taken here. Most teachers are very helpful and will help you during their office hours/ by email and even through the phone.
Regarding the administration, I have never had any problems with them. I think it depends on you really. If you check you mycsueb regularly it has all the administrative information you need. They have a "to-do" list, with phone numbers to respective departments if you're having trouble. They even send out email as reminders if you're missing a document or something else. You can easily make appointments if you wish to meet with a counselor. Also, they are pretty good about answering your questions through the phone as well..
Overall a very good campus, at least it has been for me for the past 7 months.

I love CSUEB! I've never had much of a problem. I will admit sometimes administration and financial aid can be a pain but classes, professors, the people here have made me love my experience! I also dorm and it isn't too crazy just because it's a commuter campus but i've still had some of the best nights at the dorms. It is what you make it, but there is a lot of fun and good times up on this hill! :)

This is a great school. I transferred here from community college to major in Construction Management and was one of the few lucky students to start when the program first began. I am happy with the general classes in poli-sciences, accounting, management, physics, construction materials & methods, risk management and building codes, for they provide many of the foundation knowledge in my career. The faculty is willing to work with me as long as they know I am exerting effort to do well in their courses. I tried as best as I could, joined the program's club, participated in extra-curricular activities, went to the ASC competition and worked with the engineering students in various events.

I've been reading reviews and hearing people's complaints about how the student administration staff are not easy to deal with, well my reply to them would be if you are polite and courteous then chances are people will reciprocate. Just don't expect top notch service, if you are not willing to do the leg work to get things done, otherwise complaining won't get you anything except the satisfaction of venting.

Going back to my current enrollment in the program, I have just a little over two months to graduate with a Bachelor of Science. As of to date, I have an internship that I got through a university job advertisement in construction and will strive for a permanent position as soon as I graduate.

All in all, for people who are looking to achieve a degree from an accredited university that is affordable, taught by knowledgeable professors, and is willing to work hard, study and apply what is learned then consider this campus to be an excellent investment for you to make.

CS East Bay has great views of the bay and is a solid college for those who want to learn. I am a product of the Cal State system (San Bernardino), and I appreciate the down-to-earth atmosphere and quality education that every Cal State school offers.

They aren't giving us our financial aid, which includes student loans. So here we are, broke, no gas, no food, accruing interest for money that we are not receiving. The office is useless and has absolutely no information. Do you jobs.

So far, I love it <3 I'm in the middle of my fall quarter of college.

It's hard to make friends if you're a commuter so get involved on campus. It's fun and it helps. If you show everyone you're willing to succeed, they'll help you :)

4 stars because parkin. $120 quarterly.

Excellent university for CS Grad students. However, courses are outdated and university should improve some courses with current technologies. Some of the courses like ML, Cloud Computing are not provided, but they are planning to add more courses from 2017. Except this, everything else are fabulous.

It's a nice looking school but if you drop a class and ask for a refund GOOD LUCK! That money is gone, you'll never see it again.

I dropped a class that I paid over $900 for and according to their website you're entitled to a percentage refund depending on when you drop it. Their website said I would be entitled to 82% of this money back because I dropped after 2 weeks. Then when I go to the cashiers office the lady says "it doesn't make a difference" I'm like yes it does I'm out all this money for a class I'm no longer taking. She's like "but you're still taking more than 6 units. You only get a refund if you drop and are only take less than 6 units." Then she just kept saying "okay? okay?" shoving my refund request form back to me, to get rid of me. The website doesn't say anything about me having to take less than 6 units in order to get a refund. I felt scammed and ripped off.

I'm a new transfer student and this is how they treat me for picking their school.

The University is nice, just located in an area that could use some redevelopment. 2 of my son's and several of their High School friends attend here. It is close to Oakland/Berkely and San Francisco.

Fantastic School. I am so glad I came here! I had previously attended UC Berkeley and found it a good school, but it was so focused on graduate students so much more than undergrads, that I felt those of us going for a bachelor's degree were really just overwhelmed by sheer numbers of students in class and lack of actual instruction by real teachers. CSUEB is great in that the class sizes are small, and virtually all are taught by professors, rather than students like it was at UCB.

Academics here are world-class in my opinion, especially in some areas that are not so well known, such as geology and environmental science.

As I said, I'm so happy to be attending and will be sad when I graduate next year. Maybe I'll go for my MBA here, since the business program has been highly ranked.

The only slight downside here is the administration. Generally good, but sometimes they could be a little more helpful.

Overall, a great university!

Our church, All Saints, had Mass at the conference center near parking lot B to support the Cal State East Bay Catholic Club. Very nice facility and acoustics. The view of the sunset was amazing from up on the hill.

Prospective students BEWARE!

Prospective students BEWARE!

Their financial aid department is complete garbage. The financial aid's website is down as of 12/28/17. Hours are only from 10 to 3 Mon-Thursday. SJSU, SFSU and Sac state have hours 9-5 Mon-Thursday and are open on Fridays.

Emails take weeks to get a response if they actually bother to reply. During my first week here, I couldn't get ahold of anyone because the lines are all busy. This is the only school in the entire CSU system where this happens. FYI keep calling back, eventually you will be lucky (yes you have to get lucky to actually get in contact with them).

This is the only school that I know of where during the first week of school, you're discouraged to call or email their financial aid department because they're busy. This is the week where students need to reach them the most.

The administration of this school is by far the worst.

First off, the location. Its a pretty nice campus, with a pretty nice view of the bay, however its is kind of in the ghetto. So, if this bothers you i would say that you should probably go elsewhere. Its a small-ish school with only around 10,000 people. There also isnt really much to do in hayward. Alot of other schools have campus towns but east bay doesnt really have anything like that. There is a pizza place up the hill called brono billy's which i admit is really good and it's a great place to hang out as there are alot of frats up there during the week.

The dorms are pretty nice. You get alot of the stuff that you get with an apartment like a kitchen, which is cool. The problem is really the administration here. They are pretty damn unreliable sometimes. When something is broken in your dorm, they tell you to go fill out an online request. However, it can take several weeks for anyone to actually respond to your ticket. My friends tried to get his meal plan changed and i think it took like 4 weeks or something. The site tells you that the dorms have hi speed internet but this is only partially true. Its really fast up until 5 or something and then the speed plummets. I had an online class one quarter and the internet was so freaking slow in the evenings that it was hard to even get my hw done.

Campus life is ok. Life during the week is pretty good but this basicaly the only csu without a football team. The campus is pretty dead on the weekends though. Food isnt exactly the best either. There used to be some great food in the union but for whatever reason they decided to replace it with a pizza hut and taco bell.

Overall, not a bad school but i would say that there are better options out there.

They're parking sucks, they don't give you info on important dates, they constantly lag when it comes to sending things out. It seems as if they just take in the money and let you fend for yourself with no help from them.

Its a great school. The professors on campus in the major I was in for my undergraduates were all great. The student live is also good. Made a lot of good friends. The only downside is sometimes the administration sucks. They lack a lot in customer service sometimes. But they are dedicated and when they work, boy do they work great! I wish there was more fluidity among the admin staff, but they work hard and are under pressure a lot too.

Plan on coming back for a masters program which I am looking forward to. I lived in hayward my whole life, and despite East Bay always being here, it is not a bad school at all.
