What I hoped for:
What I hoped for:
A nicely appointed room with a great view
What I got:
A room with no pillows, a clogged shower drain, and a view of a construction site.
I love a great hotel room, even in my own home town. We have relatives staying at our house, so the hubs and I decided to book a stay at the new Delta Hotel downtown. Sadly, I think it was the most disappointing stay at any Marriott property ever.
While I can forgive someone forgetting to put pillows in our room, we also didn't have any kind of booklet or information about the hotel/surrounding area. Whereas I know the area, I don't know the hotel, and didn't have any idea where the restaurant/bar, pool, or any other amenities were located (not obvious from the lobby).
The worst issue was by far the disgusting clogged shower drain. I was really excited to take a relaxing shower with the dual shower-heads, etc., but once the water started building up, I had to quickly get out before it flooded the bathroom! Once we pried up the metal piece sitting over the drain, we saw the NASTY hair/dirt/whatever of many, many prior guests. Talk about gross. When we told the front desk, they offered to have someone come take a look (no thanks at 9 PM) and a free breakfast (which we had no interest in).
Just a really disappointing stay. If you plan a trip here, make sure to ask for a river-view room (or at least specify one not directly across from a construction site), and as soon as you get to your room, make sure you have pillows and a functioning shower!
