Creta Maris Hotel Review

The perfect place to spend holiday with or without children! Greek hospitality cannot get a better rating! Would come back any time!

Loved it totally worth the extra money. Fabulous room and is right on the beech. Great for kids with the water slides and evening disco, food was best all inclusive we've been to! Already looking at booking again!

Nice clean hotel, big change in village style (who has a SLR camera umbedingt!), Very delicious food, on the area are several small pools and the beach area is public. 2017

In 2018 we were present the second time for 12 days in June. What a pity I found that there was no animation with music at the lower pool (only at the terrabuilding above) and the evening entertainment or The music is way too loud so it just clatters and clatters ... Either adjust the volume so that it's the speakers tolerate or you invest in new / more powerful speakers;) There are currently many cat moms with kittens .. (is really hearty) unfortunately, they are not castrated, have also talked to one of the hotel manager and he said only, "it is enough if we feed them outside the hotel, we can not castrate all of them. " yes not all, but it is a start and so there are less sick cats that in turn infect others ... they will certainly take more than enough money. I know that in general the southern countries have no relation to the animals ... But you do not have to wonder if Mutternatur ever beats back. Otherwise it is a nice hotel and we enjoyed our time.

We are currently the last day in Creta Maris. We, that are grandparents, parents + 2 children 12 years. First to the reception / arrival.
This is very friendly and ensures easy check-in. Bookings of sports offers (tennis) also go smoothly.
The complex is laid out in a village and is very spacious (nice to look at, but modest if you get the outermost room). There is a newer part here near the beach and in good shape. The "cheaper" quarter can be reached via two bridges. This is then no longer in good shape. Anyone who pays attention to floors and walls will find that they have not been painted for years and that the floors have not seen any lye for a long time. Basically not very bad, don't want to buy a house, but reflect a major problem - cleanliness and order).
Once in the rooms, the issue of cleanliness is also a central problem. In the grandparents' room, there was seldom anything really cleaned. only beds made. The room was completely tiled, so I couldn't understand why there was so much dirt and dust in this room. In the family room there was what felt like an ancient carpet that had already been worn by Odysseus. There was a little more cleaning here, but not really well either, so that pebbles from the first day could also be found at the end of the holiday. Not to mention the dust mice under the bed.
A cheek for all-in is the minibar and filling it. Does not take place, so 2l of water for 4 people must be considered all-in.
Fortunately, you don't spend much time in the rooms !!!!

Restaurants are so much. The Estia and BBq restaurants are good. In terms of food, Platia is not that great, unfortunately I cannot judge Pithos as it is always fully booked. The general restaurants are okay in terms of food, but always with waiting times, unless you happen to belong to one of the companies that have booked events in the ConventionCenter (I'll come to that in a moment).
Based on this experience, I advise you to only book half-board here. Around the hotel there are some good restaurants where you can get a lot more for your money. A Lidl is 500m away (where you have to go anyway because of drinks for the room, unless you pay too high prices in the hotel).
The breakfast in the buffet restaurants is ok, but here too there can be waiting times due to corporate events and reserved seats.
Basically the staff are very friendly - especially the female staff. There are two charming ladies in the two buffet restaurants. Stellia in the main restaurant and Aggelikki upstairs are really angels.
The bars are ok too. Maria is responsible for the beach bar at the bottom right by the smaller pool, who is also very friendly and quick. One star in my rating goes to the 3 ladies, without them I would only have wanted to give 2 stars.

The biggest point of criticism is the perceived preference for company events. the package tourist. E.g. Themed restaurants used for several days as a closed company for companies. Or tables in the main buffet restaurant generously pre-reserved for companies. As a package tour you then have problems getting a table anywhere.

The bottom line remains: Great to book for a company event. We will not return as a family vacation in the future.

Super resort it is big so don't know how it feels after the Corona era but now it is super. More distance and mouth masks are taken into account here than in the Netherlands (the guests only have to keep some distance And no mouth mask is needed) people are friendly food is good actually everything is perfect only personally I would like a playground for the kids and the Waterpark should be open a bit longer for me Maarja those are those nagging points

I cannot really agree with the previous speakers ...
We had a room with a sea view - the rooms are ok, but have definitely not been renovated for 30 years.

The beach is quite small, but during Corona times the occupancy rate was bearable - with normal operation it will be very crowded.

The food was in my opinion a total failure.
It was actually the worst meal I've ever had in a five star resort.
Attention there is only buffet ...

I would rate the resort as mediocre - for 300 + a night, there are significantly better ...

Hello, always in this establishment for a stay of 2 weeks or everything is practically perfect except for the mediocre wifi network except for the main building. Surely good reasons for the direction but the report is there ...

Beautiful place, very clean and helpful friendly staff

A beautiful and very well-kept hotel landscape in the truest sense of the word. Very friendly service staff and excellent food, always beautifully presented. We will definitely book this hotel again someday

We just went for our first trip to Cretan husbands and we are very happy this is a great hotel that I would recommend to everyone the hospitality is great the staff even everything is beautiful we will return with our children .

We stayed at this hotel from August 7, 2014 to August 15, 2014, and had a wonderful time. cleanliness, home, location, activity, impeccable. just a little criticism, not enough varieties in the meats, otherwise everything was perfect.
Beautiful surroundings, pools, bars, and hospitality are irreproachable ..... without hesitation, we will return.
the restaurants (italian, greek, barbecue ,,, etc ...... were our favorite, the super activities .... and the romantic bar nickel ..... our rating is 9/10 ..

we were in bungalow, and it was very very well equipped, even an ironing board (but I did not use it !!!!) that happiness in this hotel ..... the staff is super nice , and speaks the French language, which is not the case in some hotels ................................ ..................................

Very nice hotel, clean, nice and spacious room with nice sea view, harbor and hotel opposite.
The main restaurant is very noisy, the others on reservation less, the food is excellent.
The main pool is just as noisy, so explore the site for quieter pools.
This hotel is really suitable when you have young children or babies, but if you want to relax it is much more complicated.
The staff is charming, friendly, very patient and welcoming.
I do not think to go back because it does not correspond to what we are looking for

Beautiful, spacious hotel complex with direct access to a small beach. Eating and drinking should be something for every taste.

Excellent hotel. It is very large but also very clean.

Apart from the main restaurant, there are 5 more.
The cocktails are very good and varied.

Fantastic vacation getaway. Great location, great staff, great vacation. The hotel is close enough to stores and restaurants, but far enough away to escape the noise. The beach is small, but very nice, and it is reserved for the guests of the hotel. The rooms are very nice and the staff does an outstanding job of cleaning and maintaining them. The grounds are beautifully kept with many different plants and trees to enjoy. Multiple dining options keep you from getting bored, and they are all delicious. This is truly a relaxing vacation location.

It's a very nice hotel. Well organized even during corona times. Only the main restaurant is very noisy. There are many different pools, including very quiet pools. They reserve dinner in restaurants 3 times a week. You can also eat breakfast in the small restaurant by the pool. Very beautiful. The slide park is of course awesome.

Great location, right on the beach, various shopping possibilities nearby.

We didnt eat the food so cant comment on that but the grounds are beautiful and there are plenty of activities for the children including a waterpark. The hotel was a few minutes by car to the old town where there were some fantastic authentic Greek tavernas for dinner. During the day we did try a Gyros from the beach restaurant and it was surprisingly good. I would recommend

Fresh and high-quality local food, smiling staff who respond to all your requests. Very nice animation even if no shows at the theater because of COVID19. Very pleasant beach and very clean sea, huge main pool and water at ideal temperature. Exceptional a la carte restaurant Pithos.
We would like to come back after COVID19 to enjoy the nightclub and the theater.

Great hotel that leaves nothing to be desired. The staff is very friendly and tried hard. We changed the room which was completely unproblematic. The food is very good and varied. The chairs on the beach are a bit scarce and the usual reservation tactics of the guests at the pool and beach are a bit annoying, but ok, that's the same everywhere. The all inclusive cocktails are not necessarily of a high standard, but are quite drinkable. All in all the best hotel in Crete so far. We will be back. The water park is great for children and adults. We felt very comfortable.

Great place to relax. Nice beach, clean water and great service guarantee you a great time. The sleeping part of the resort are cozy houses reminiscent of a Cretan village. It is full of olive trees, pomegranates and colorful flowers. The kitchen is already at the highest level. The quality and variety of meals was the biggest positive surprise for us. We recommend 100%.

We stayed in this hotel for 6 days. We are a couple without kids and although a lot of families with young children stayed there as well, we didn t feel disturbed at all. The food was incredibly good which we didn t expect for the price we paid. The stuff was very friendly and always helpful.
The rooms were cleaned every day, still we thought the bathrooms could need a renovation soon.

This hotel complies with everything it promises. Its facilities, attached to the Aegean Sea, the friendliness of its staff. The only fault is the temperatures (18 *) and the sea wind that in August will be a relief, now arriving at the end of April it does not invite its white beaches .....

Stayed for 1 week at this beach resort all inclusive during high season, it s truly a family resort and you have the impression to be welcomed by friends! Even though it hosts 1700 guests and 500 kids you do not have the impression that s very crowded as it is wide spread, like a little village. There are 5 restaurants, some buffet some a la carte, all were of high quality and variety. Being vegan, no gluten and lactose, there were lots of salad choices, raw food, gluten free bread, pasta but also lactose free milk for breakfast and the chef would cook something for you if you want something special gluten free. Also one day our 3 year old had a little piece of wood in her finger and was crying, the guest relations manager in person drove us to the medical clinic around the city to get it removed, as the resort doctor s Office would not open so soon. That was really worth 5*!! The rooms were large and spacious, the AC very quiet and efficient. The spa was ok, the towels did not smell at all (I hate it when they smell oily) and the staff attentive but you can imagine that s it s not a hotel spa so the quality was rather average for what it was, and a bit pricy so I would not really recommend it if you want something special, from experience in general the massages were not so great in family beach resorts so do not expect too much. All in all, fantastic place worth every penny will come back !!

I only mention what I take as a minus: 1.flight over the resort 2.filling the shampoo and body lotion - 1pcs is a little for two people and even not every day Others was tip-top. Very nice hotel very spacious so I distributed everything very well and what were really great that in the morning abm9 clock still quite relaxed a couch got. The large dining room was a bit noisy but you can get used to everything

Beautiful Hotel. A huge complex with beautiful grounds, wonderful children's waterpark, private beach and about 6 or 7 pools.
We stayed 23-30th May 2019. The hotel is well run with mainly happy and attentive staff (except the cleaner of our room 6600 who didn't seem to enjoy her job, she was even shouting whilst cleaning our room one day and didn't do the best job of the cleaning it)! The kids club was great and our boys enjoyed a few hours there each day. The children's night entertainment was ok, although it was the same thing each night all week (30 mins song & dance routine). We stayed in a classic family room which was quite basic and beginning to look a little dated ( the bathroom at least) but the beds were comfortable (one king size and a sofa bed with another pull out bed underneath). The food was good and plentiful although we found that a lot of it was always lukewarm or cold. The bar in the entertainment area was always queued. Although the staff work hard there is only ever two of them working and I would imagine that in high season months the queues will only get larger! It definitely needs more staff manning the bar.
All in all we had a wonderful week and I would return to Creta Maris again in an instant.

We had a wonderful time at the hotel. The compound is huge and has various facilities. The view is breathtaking and the staff is very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended.

Super nice facility and delicious food in the different themes - restaurants. The beach is a mix of sand and very fine gravel with crystal clear water.

I have been to the resort for a conference. From this point of view, I think the resort can improve: there were problems with sound (microphones), air conditioning and signage. What bothered me the most, however, was that on the first day of the conference the girl at the door of the restaurant did not know where to find the cheapest food option inside the hotel. She reported one place and found out only on the last day that it was in another (much better). Other than that, everything was very good. It had a beautiful outdoor cinema that looks like those Greek theaters and the hotel is really beautiful.

Simply terrible. The rooms are old and tired. Everything is subpar: from the bed mattresses which are too soft from being overused, to the showers that don t even have a proper shower head you expect from a 5-star hotel (it only had a shower handle). During COVID-19 the hotel was packed! Food was served in closed quarters, with tables packed one next to each other, and the food was the worst I ever had in a hotel: even simple white rice was inedible. And the kids hated the ice cream. When we decided to leave early as we couldn t tolerate this place any further, of course no refund was issued since they stated that the reservation is non-refundable . Oh well. Give this one a miss.

Beautiful hotel in Greek style. It is quite large and children will find plenty of enjoyment here. The beach is maintained and clean. For me a super hotel.

Very nice complex with various bars and restaurants. Main restaurant unfortunately a bit noisy, but there are enough alternatives and it is only 500 m to Chersonissos. The entertainment was very restrained, so that you can find your peace and quiet. Always found enough loungers on the beach, pool or meadow. In the evening you can dance ... So we were satisfied and our expectations met

Huge Area. Very wide variety of food any time. Only time when there ist no Buffet is from 4-6 pm and from 0-9 am. Very friendly service. Would book again

Very nice hotel the food not great at all the rooms are not bad the food even outside the restaurants etc. I find that the Greek cuisine levels are not too good otherwise beautiful scenery hotel setting validate on the other hand nobody speaks French as well it's annoying

The resort is ok. The pools close too early, there is no 24hr restaurant as the bars and restaurants shut down at midnight.

Room systematically lacks or a bath towel or shower gel or toilet paper and lunch baskets invariably the same tts the days

Impeccable rooms and catering.
Top welcome and services.
The only downside is the beach policy to remove the towels that you reserve in advance.
They are removed and deposited in plastic bags like garbage.
Inadmissible for the class of such a hotel.
Especially since business is not withdrawn from everyone. (Money for beach attendants).

Great hotel! Great beach and incredibly delicious food.

1. Waited 25 minutes for the bellboy to take us to the room, with an infant baby on my hands. We've asked twice for the receptionist just to tell us the directions so we would go by ourselves but she insisted on us waiting for the bellboy.
2. No baby crib although we specified this in the mail and also made sure with the receptionist who said it's in the room
3. Got a room far away and an up the hill 10 min walk from the restaurant /pools - went back to the receptionist to explain her we are with a baby and it's very inconvenient for us to walk this distance each time, she instructed us to go to dinner and promised that after it she will have a new room ready for us.
After dinner a different receptionist (Manolis) said no rooms are available, we went back to the room and found out no one brought us the baby crib, again to the receptionist who said the bed is being brought in this moment, went back to the room, finally the bed was there but now we had to wait for another half hour for someone to bring the sheets
3.5 hours it took them to get us the baby crib -this was 21:30 pm, which is much after my baby's sleep time.
Will like to thank Manolis from the reception for trying to make our stay better after all and helping us with finding a better room and with reserving a finer place.
4. While eating lunch in the Estia restaurant, the waitress (Anna) complained that the baby is doing to much mess, I've explained her that this is a baby and that I will clean after the baby finish eating but Anna kept bothering us saying a yogurt is not a proper food for a baby making an unpleasant argument which resulted in us leaving the place.
5. Asked for an additional blenket, got it 4.5 hours later
6. There are restaurant here that you have to book, wasn't able to get a place during most of our vacation (booking is available only for the next day, but it was always full no meter when we tried),
The good part is that after complaining to the reception, and talking with the guest service manager (Dimitris) they reserved us a place in the Italian restaurant and we enjoyed the food and the service there.

In conclusion the service in this hotel could be better, as they were not properly staffed for the high season time.
