Creta Maris Hotel Review

Good clean All-inclusive hotel. This is our first experience in Greece, before we only visited many All-inclusive hotels in Turkey. This hotel has a very new Aqua Park, nice but rather small pools, good dinners but rather repeatable breakfasts. Rooms are perfect and clean. There are not many mosquitoes in September! Stuff is great and really kind. Cocktails are delicious. The sea is clean and sandy beach is nice, but narrow. Wireless internet is great, fast, and everywhere! Lots of cats. Some rooms may be noisy and neighbors can smoke, but you can ask to change. One star off is because of Heraklion Airport - it is very dense and dirty, there are not enough restrooms. But overall nice vacation, we really enjoyed!

After some fears of all-in hotels, very pleasantly surprised by all the services offered. Coming as a family with a baby, the staff, very kind and with great care, prepared special meals for the baby on request. The hotel displayed complacency without any feeling of the population because many swimming pools with calm or animated, with the choice .... The alleys of the houses super quiet, clean everywhere, a lot of choice in catering. I recommend it and will stay there again.

Very large hotel, 7 pool, nice restaurants, not noisy food varied and very good.

Hotel built like a village, really nice to walk there. The new water park is great for kids. The food and just excellent.

This hotel is amazing. Great services, food and beach. Everything was perfect.

A vast resort, very well looked after in all its aspects. It consists of three contiguous and perfectly integrated areas between them: the Earth Building in the upper part and inside, the Maris Building in front of the beach facing the sea and the bungalows located on a hill sloping towards the sea, surrounded by gardens and very neat vegetation, to remember the typical architecture of the Greek villages. Numerous pools very well equipped with sun beds, various beach bars scattered throughout the resort and the pride of the hotel: many restaurants, including four thematic (Italian, greek, Cretan and BBQ latter very striking on the reef on the sea), the Cosmos, the hotel's main restaurant, and not least the poolside Almyra. Practically everyone, except Greek and Cretan, can eat from breakfast to dinner and even at Almyra until midnight. Quality of the dishes and variety of the offer difficult to find in structures that can accommodate up to 2000-2500 guests. Soft and quite chaotic environment, almost maniacal cleanliness of the environments. Two fitness centers, one of which is free, a beautiful spa for body care and why not of the mind and a small and convenient internal market. Much attention to the customer and maximum professionalism, availability and courtesy of all the staff. Powerful wifi available for free. A stone's throw from the bustling center of the town of Hersonissos. In short, wanting to summarize the judgment, a structure that is worth in all respects the price certainly above average.

Beautiful hotel complex, with 6 of everything - pools, restaurants, bars,... Brilliant food selection, we always tried to taste everything which is impossible! Very nice staff, clean and tasteful rooms, clear blue sea... Everything you want from a relaxing splurging vacation.

All in all a great resort hotel!
The complex is very well maintained (outside and inside) and everything is well organized.
Most of the staff are very friendly and courteous.
Partly it is a bit noisy, but that's the way it is in a family hotel. Since the area is quite spacious you could always find a place where it was quieter + more relaxed.
In my opinion ok was only the spa, although as far as I know this is not part of the hotel. Why o.k .: One participant booked a "relaxation massage", another the more expensive "sports massage". But in the end it was the same massage. For the price, the technology and the power or the duration were not sufficient.

The food was amazing and unparalleled for the price !! There is room for improvement, if at all, with regard to the variety of warm vegetarian alternatives and generally with regard to the temperature of the warm dishes (some of them were only lukewarm). Nevertheless, there is 5/5 for this alone.

Rooms were perfectly fine - clean, comfortable beds and big enough.

I would still have the following tips:
- an 'adult pool' would be a nice thing
- the signs were partly confused and could be expanded
- as the hotel advertises with a 'green' image, the use of energy (e.g. outside lighting is not required during the day - in some cases this was the case) and resources (e.g. disposable plastic cups, plastic straws, etc.) should be optimized.

Final conclusion: the perfect hotel for a relaxing all-inclusive vacation with a reasonable price-performance ratio. I can only recommend it!

We had a great week. Everything was perfect. An extremely warm and pleasant staff always at the service of the guests. Very clean hotel, good food with several restaurants to choose from for meals. Seaside too beautiful and clean, lounge chairs with linen available the top. We are coming back next year.

Odyssey comes to an end. After a lot of back and forth it turned out to be a good room, and the holiday can start late. New knowledge today. The rooms are only cleaned every 3 days because of Covit 19, there is no reason for it. It is a 5 hotel, but really only an appearance. This is what the toilets look like in a 5 hotel on the beach
Apparently my review has been read, the beach toilets are now cleaned daily, and there are now enough pool chairs available. That was not always so. We got the daily room cleaning after all. Today there was also mail from the hotel, they probably don't like pictures that don't show the halo. In any case, the staff is very friendly, whether they had something to do with the room odyssey and the missing additions, which are in the hotel forefront, I don't know and is not my part, the hotel has to come to an agreement with the tour operator, unfortunately that will always carried out on the back of the guests. Since we have the booked room, we also have vacation. I'll write a final review at the end. Just so much, do not believe the full-bodied tales and exaggerated praise. Either their feelings are rather few for 5 , or they have never been anywhere else.

Very nice all inclusive hotel with extensive animation programme, nice bars, multiple excellent restaurants, very good food variety and quality and a beautiful beach. The Spa is a bit disappointing though, it's no real hamam, just a steam sauna that doesn't seem all that clean. The cocktails I got at the beach bar were no real cocktails but siroup cocktails, proper cocktails available at the others bars however. Other than that everything is excellent.

Loved every minute of my holiday here, didn t have children when I went so I m not sure if it s child friendly but it was ideal for a relaxing break.

The room fridge is refilled once a week, nice views and architecture.

I stayed at this resort from 6 to 13 October with my husband and my daughter. We had a great time the cleaning is super in every corner, from the common spaces, to the rooms and the swimming pools .. Excellent bars and restaurants and staff always kind and with a smile .. My daughter loved the Waterpark present inside the resort. Great location near many points of interest. We had a wonderful holiday

Water 28 feet, but unfortunately rocks under the water .... Don't take a bath without footwear ...

I had a wonderful stay at this great hotel! The employees take great care in the restaurants, at the buffet, in the bars, in room service or at the reception. The hotel is very very big and very pretty with all these beautiful flowers and olive trees. The room was simple, spacious and pretty with a terrace and sea view.
In the restaurants, we eat very very well! I liked the Pithos and Cochlias restaurant. I really like the small portions on the buffet to avoid the mess. The menus change daily. And every night there is a different themed menu.
In the hotel there are lots of cute cats. It's nice to spend a holiday and meet a few cats.
I loved the number of pools. On the sea side there are quite a few people. But the swimming pool next to the pithos restaurant is great and quiet there are not many people.
I liked the entertainment. And the music and show evenings were great!

Very important complex, the hotel which runs along the sea has been completely renovated. The bungalows with 1 floor maximum, part of which has also been renovated, are also near the sea. The others, quite numerous, are a little further away from the other side of the public road and accessible by 2 footbridges.
The whole has been thought out with great taste and perfectly made.
Walking through these bungalows, a real pleasure.
The reception at the hotel quite well; the staff always very friendly and always ready to help.

A disadvantage with regard to the exteriors, from 6 am in the morning some of the tourists are standing to reserve the many chairs, deckchairs around the swimming pools and on the beach. Although it is in principle forbidden, the hotel does absolutely nothing. Pity .
The beach is of fairly coarse sand, and the entrance to the sea in pebbles - or rocks, provide slippers -

Beautiful territory. The room is quiet. Spacious room. The sun loungers by the main pool must be occupied at 7: 00-7: 30 and sit on them until 8:30, otherwise the towels will be removed.

Loved all of it. Very beautiful resort, friendly and helpful staff, the rooms are very clean and their size is sufficient. We had a garden and loved it. The food is very good and beautifully served. The Italian restaurant is amazing, the BBQ is the most beautiful, sitting on the seashore and the buffet is adorable (compensating for BBQ itself that was not on a very high level. But it is the only negative note I have, and it's marginal).

I am confident to recommend Creta Maris Resort for your vocation.

Great hotel, there are many activities for all ages (except on Sundays), the food is that way but there is a lot of variety

All in all a very nice experience.

- Very nice location even if the city is not very worth seeing. It is possible to explore Eastern Crete from there
- The hotel beach is medium in size, partly stony and there are two beach bars.
- Food in the themed restaurants is good to very good. In the main restaurant unfortunately only ok.
- Room very nice and big
- Service friendly and helpful
- Equipment very good, offers many entertainment options

Love this place, great rooms, endless stretch of great food at buffet! Sustainability is genuinely followed. Beach is great clean and clear waters. Be prepared for gusty winds and sand storms!

We mostly enjoyed Creta Maris, don't mistake my three stars for a bad review. There are a number of shortcomings though, things we've become used to in other places and Creta Maris does not offer.

All inclusive for example was really all inclusive but the variety of choices is not really on par with other similar offers. We often had the sensation that the food was mostly fast-food-like. Also for a Greek hotel there was surprisingly little fish on the menu (little variation on this also). The fact that they close off the pools at 6pm was also not very nice. Service was nice but does not stand out in any way. The turndown service was not as regular as we'd have expected from a 5 star hotel either.

So all in all we would rate Creta Maris as a pretty standard location. It does not stand out as exceptionally nice or anything. It was also not the worst we've been an.

Very good breakfast and food

We were there a week ago. First two days sea calm, other days waves. The entrance to the sea is gradual, but compared to last year, there are more stones. I would recommend shoes, for better comfort. We found a path between the two plates. Water clean. Beach, as last year, umbrellas are small and so in the afternoon it is harder to find a cooler. Beach bars - handy, drinks original, not syrup. Accommodation based on where you get the room. There are rooms where it is busy. We had a room ok, only a baby crying 2-3 times in the night. In our term there were very many babies, many buggies. So finding a room where you wouldn't be crying wouldn't be easy. So we didn't solve this. And we decided that next time, just because of a quiet holiday, just an adult only hotel.

Fantastic facility, personal above all expectations! Beautiful beach, beautiful sea, 10 minutes walk from hersonissos. Great food, very good restaurant and kitchen staff!

General:
We had a very nice vacation in Creta Maris. The whole resort is very large and structured like a small Greek village. The hotel invites you to relax and is really recommended, as there is something for everyone. I took the time to write a detailed review, which I never do otherwise, but I think future vacationers will appreciate a detailed review.

Hotel complex:
As soon as you arrive, your suitcase is taken away from you, you can check in in peace and are then shown straight to your room. You can get the all-inclusive (if booked) ribbon around your wrist at reception.
The resort is very big. With a total of 6 pools + 1 pool for children, 6 restaurants and a few bars, there is something for everyone. There is also a lot to do, evening program, entertainers, etc.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. You can get through anywhere with English. It's very neat and clean. A beautiful facility that invites you to relax and unwind. In addition, the distance to the airport is short. Within 25 minutes you are at the airport in Heraklion.

Room:
We had a classic room in the Terra Building. The way to the main building is a bit away. But you can be picked up with a golf caddy.
The room was renovated. Unfortunately, the air conditioning, minibar and flushing of the toilet were a bit noisy, but you get used to it if it doesn't bother you. We had a beautiful view of the pool and a wide view of the sea.
Here I recommend the following:
- if you want it a little quieter, you should take a room in the Terra Building
- if you want it a little louder and more exciting, you should book a room in the main building with a sea view. We recommend. We will do the same next time.

Restaurants:
There are 6 restaurants. You can have breakfast and lunch in 3 buffet restaurants. 2 on the main building and 1 in the Terra Building. You can have dinner in the main building without a reservation. There are 2 restaurants here. In the remaining 4 restaurants you have to make reservations in the evening. Reservations are made over the Internet. The best thing to do is to ask on site how the reservation works. A little tip: Better to book 1 day in advance at 7 a.m., as the restaurants are quickly booked out.
The BBQ buffet is beautiful and very tasty. The Italian buffet in the Estia restaurant is also highly recommended. We ate particularly well there. But the other restaurants are good too. Everyone should find something there, because the selection is very large. Of course there is always a lot going on in the restaurants, but it's also logical with so many holidaymakers. The staff are very courteous and attentive.

Pools:
There is always a lot going on at the main pool. So if you want it a little quieter, you should go to the Terra Building Pool, or a slightly smaller pool. There is enough choice here.
The loungers are very comfortable. You can change your bath towel every day from 4pm to 6pm.

Trips:
Excursions to Heraklion, Knossos, Spinalonga, Chersonissos and Agios Nikolaos are highly recommended. We took our trips ourselves with a rented car from Hertz. So you are independent and don't have to go on a whole day trip. We were mostly out in the morning until noon and then back at the pool in the afternoon. Highly recommended for the temperatures and the sun on Crete.

Conclusion:
We recommend the hotel 100%. Here everyone can find something in every area.
We like to come by again when we are on vacation in Crete.
The proximity to the beautiful city of Chersonissos is also great. If you should decide in favor of the hotel, then enjoy your vacation and have a good time in a wonderful resort.

The hotel is built like a village with main buildings and bungalows. There are many swimming pools and plenty of lounge chairs for everyone.

The hotel is huge and close to the airport so actually noisy. The beach is not very practical: Rocher. The communicating family rooms are very comfortable, prefer the bungalows for more calm.

The hotel has a beautiful room with a view of the pool. Bathroom large and clean. Rooms are spacious and clean. All inclusive is the best. Walking to the beach a couple of minutes to fill.

Pools close at 18u30. Water park at 18h ridiculous. Slides only from 1m20 so 4 or 5 years olds not allowded guess. Slides are totally not dangerous so very stupid. Food is great. Rooms noisy

Lovely resort, situated in a perfect location. Plenty of space and lots of activities to do during the day. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and your holiday relaxing. Special mention must go to Aggeliki for the yogurt and ice and Marina for teaching my mum some Greek. The animation team are super friendly too! <3

Fantastic resort near the sea. As far as food cleanliness is concerned, this hotel complex is not a mistake. I recommend it to families with children and older clients.

This hotel is really very nice and located directly on the sea and the area is very diverse with nice bars and restaurants by the sea. What you should definitely visit is the BBQ restaurant in the hotel, which is really breathtaking. It was a great vacation that has a lot to offer. However, there are still a few points of criticism
After 9.30 it is hardly possible to get couches in the front area, that was very annoying every morning. There are enough sun loungers on the beach, but there are no shady spots despite umbrellas. In my opinion, the cleanliness of the rooms is less than three stars. It was never properly cleaned. One day the cleaning lady came, only made the bed and the rest wasn't made at all, even the garbage bag was put next to the garbage can so that we could put it in it ourselves, I found that very bold. The mini bar was not refilled as promised once a week our stay lasted 9 days. Since the positive things about the hotel far outweigh, you can say that it is a great hotel. The staff is very nice and helpful. But the cleanliness should really be worked on.

I visited the hotel with my girlfriend and we are completely satisfied. Everything was right. The check-in went smoothly and quickly. The rooms were spacious and clean. However, not only were the rooms clean, but the entire hotel complex. What we found particularly great was that the entire area was green thanks to the nightly watering.
The beach was clean and beautiful, very good for snorkeling, especially near the reef. In the sea, however, it is better to wear water shoes as there are some rocks in the water. It was also nice that you always got a lounger and that you don't have to reserve the loungers in the morning as in some other hotels. There is enough space for everyone.

Another feature was that you had the opportunity to do a photo shoot. Also here a compliment to "Vali" and "Ramona", who took great photos of us!

In conclusion, one can say that everything was just right at Creta Maris Beach Resort. Would recommend it to everyone and will definitely book the hotel again.
