I've been coming here since I was a child and this place does not get old.
It is nice to see a community come together support a landmark and interact with one and other at this site.
Please consider putting off watching the latest releases for a few weeks in order to be blessed with the experience of watching a movie at a one of a kind.

The Crandell offers a wonderful hometown moviegoing experience. It is a historic single-screen theater where you're likely to run into people you know. I suppose it might be nice to have a few more amenities, but I'm just happy this place is still around to enjoy.

A community gem.

A community gem.

Prices are slightly higher now than someone else mentioned (still nowhere near as expensive as most movie theaters these days), and they do have air conditioning now.

The workers are nice and friendly like the people who live in Chatham. They give you extra butter. It's a small theater for a cheap price that shows up to date movies and has cute free movie events from time to time.

I think the first movie I saw here was Smokey and the Bandit, so I've been coming here for a while. If you like places that don't seem to change much, this place is for you. Even though the Crandell has changed hands since then and there have been some major renovations and an upgraded sound system (it's actually a little too loud, but that may be due to my superannuation...), it still has the same small town cinema vibe. It's also the main venue for the Columbia County Film Festival and they'll give you a free small popcorn and a discount if you're a Film Columbia member

Very beautiful historic theater with more than enough seats for the crowd it services - the Crandell is never full. Some folks say the seats are uncomfortable, though while they've definitely got some bounce and sag, I found them comfortable enough. Movies tend to be fairly current, and tend toward the more art-house, indie side of the spectrum, though at any given time there's usually a blockbuster in the lineup. Slightly less expensive than the average cinema, friendly staff.

The Crandell Theatre is a treasure of Main Street Chatham. We are unique to have a historic theater that is still operational, and shows the best movies right when they come out! The movies and concessions are affordable. What more could you ask for in a neighborhood theater!?

I don't go to theaters often these days. This one makes me want to start going again. Pleasant old world atmosphere that takes me back to the pleasant memories and excitement of going to the movies as a child. Reasonably priced. What fun.

The Crandall stands tall among movie theaters. Its price for first run movies is $6.50 for members and $7.50 for nonmembers. Not only do you get a discount as a member, you get a small popcorn, which has always been fresh. I'm not an additional butter lover, but the Crandall uses real butter, not "golden flavor." The recently updated HVAC keeps you comfortable in an old theater. You can always get a seat, except when they showed the first episode of the new season of Downton Abbey before it appeared on TV. Finally, they show fantastic indie films on Sundays. Try going, you will enjoy it!

Always a delight to go there with family. I like the old style theater archetecture and hopefully they will be able to restore the interior to it's old world charm. I will continue to see movies every year when I visit family. Rock on Crandell!

Great small-town theater showing contemporary films for lower price point than the larger theaters. Right on a cozy Main Street with a few pubs and restaurants, a great book store, and directly across the street from one of the most respected land trusts in the nation. Film festival every October is an exciting time to see a wide genre of films. Everyone should patronize The Crandell often so they can keep upgrading things like seating and stay sustainable into the future.

It's a beautiful, older style theater with great ambiance. You don't see many theaters like this any more. I was here during the filming of a movie as a background character and really got to see more of the theater than on a regular movie day.
