My husband and I were married at The Courtyard a few weeks ago and I cannot express enough how happy we are with the service and staff at this venue. Our family and friends were so impressed with the food - seriously, everything was mouth watering good. Cynthia (the wedding coordinator) is an absolute rock star and made my job extremely easy. I truly felt like I just had to show up on the day, she handled it all and everything was perfect. Beyond happy and we recommend The Courtyard 100 times over!

I had my wedding dinner here with a group of 11 guests. The servers were so courteous and helpful, not to mention fun to joke around with! The food was fantastic, not a single complaint among any of my guests. We did not notify Courtyard ahead of time that this was for our wedding because we were keeping it low-key and relaxed, but once our server found out she returned with two complimentary glasses of champagne! It made the evening feel special when our chocolate cake arrived with a congratulations message written in chocolate. My husband and I have already decided we want to come back here for all our anniversaries because we had such a good experience and made great memories here.

NEVER book your wedding here. Horrible customer service from both the owner Phil and the event co-ordinator Cynthia. I had an issue with an article being stolen at this restaurant. I was never called back after 5 weeks when I was told they would let me know if they could look at the cameras. When I had called back I was told "you can call me too you know".... And now they would like me to pay out of my pocket to have the security tapes reviewed. Poor customer service and poor handling of the situation by the owner.

Went for a wedding not a big venue but very nice with the cobble stone walkway to the building and all the old stone work on the inside ! Also had very good food and the apps going around were also quite good !

One of the best meals i've ever eaten and atmosphere was second to none. Both of us would highly reccomend the duck. Great place to have a romantic dinner in a historic building with lots of character.

We had a function at the Courtyard with 15 people in attendance. The service we experienced was excellent. Event Coordinator Cynthia Verboven was fantastic - very attentive to our needs. The food was very good. The server we had during the event handled everything so professionally. I highly recommend The Courtyard Restaurant.

We just attended our sons wedding here on Feb 8/20 with 34 people. Everything from A-Z was phenomenal! The food was beyond 5 stars! We were presented a custom menu at dinner with multiple choices, and you ordered on the spot. Every dish was fantastic. The presentation, the quality, absolute perfection! The servers were fast, efficient and super, super friendly. It was open bar, so I don't know how much drinks were but every specialty drink that our table ordered was professionally crafted and very good. The staff was plentiful and they went above and beyond. They had closets to store our winter coats and boots in, they were at every corner to assist in any way. I HIGHLY recommend this venue if you want a classy, unique, high quality experience. The venue itself is stunning. Wow.... Just wow!

We went for dinner on a Friday night. The food was great - creative and delicious. Service was great too! Waiter was accommodating and polite. One of the best steaks I have ever had. The menu is seasonal so it changes, but it was a bit hard to figure out what you are actually getting because the descriptions are complex.

Lovely character Was there with thirty others to celebrate a long day in class on a Friday night. Pretty location, good service. Food was ordered weeks in advance, we only had two choices for each course. Nevertheless, it was good food, very tasty. They accommodated our large group rather well. Was slightly disappointed when the ghost (Mrs. Evans) did not appear.

Great food, would give 5 stars for food. Was just there for a wedding. Expensive drinks, and had one bussed while it was still full. Didn't realize until it was too late. Told the young looking bartender that someone took my full drink and his response was 'I didn't bus it'. Then he walked away from me. When I asked if he was going to do anything about it, he said 'No' and walked away again. VERY rude. The manager replaced it no questions asked, but that bartender needs an attitude adjustment.

My sister recently got married here. I have to say our experience was a bit of a roller coaster, but all things worked out in the end. Lauren was our event co-ordinator, she was amazing! Likes: The staff was very friendly, and very patient with our many ideas and requests lol! The food was good!- I loved the presentation of all the dishes and the butter balls! The decorations were beautiful- and they changed the room over fairly quickly The restaurant is unique and rustically romantic Dislikes: We originally had Genvieve as our planner- she wasn't great at returning calls, luckily we ended up with Lauren No parking, this may not bother some people- until you are doing a supply drop off and you have to make 3 trips walking 3 blocks with arm loads of stuff Their menu was "not available" until a few weeks before the wedding because its seasonal They only have one bathroom- on the main floor, so if you are upstairs and drinking- be careful coming down the stairs! P.S. It could use some updating The drinks/alcohol at the bar were weak The rooms are small- we only had 40 people and it felt a little cramped for space- we had to get creative with placing the photo booth and the dance space was almost nil The prices are high- $20 for the kids to have chicken tenders

Booked a Christmas party here, they lied about the initial quota required, and changed their contract without any signatures. Service and food weren't terrible but management is deceitful when it comes to large parties.

Went for Valentine's Day 2019. Appetizers: - Game terrine: Good taste. Not too gamey. Bread nice and crispy. - Scallop tartare: Good texture. Flavourful. Mains: - Short-rib: Great texture. Nice and crispy outside. - Duck: Good flavour (meat and sauce). Fennel and shallots went well with the dish. Meat was a little hard to cut but the texture was good -- perhaps a sharper knife would have been better. Dessert: - Lemon cake: light and fluffy. Meringues had a good shell. - Chocolate cake: very rich. I like chocolate so i thought it was good but I could see how someone else could find it too rich or too much. Wine pairing: - white: Very good. Dry but not acidic. - red: full-bodied. Enjoyed it but prefered the white - mead: quite floral. Service: great service. Pleasant, friendly waitress. Atmosphere: nice atmosphere. Low-lighting. Not too loud.

Perfect for a romantic date night out. As the name suggests, the restaurant is down an old cobblestone courtyard, that makes it feels secluded and timely. While a little pricey, if you are looking a good anniversary spot, and want to dress up a little this is the place to be. They also do wedding dinners as well, if you are looking.

Good enough to appreciate good quality food, atmosphere and service if you compare it to a lot of other restaurants in Ottawa, but not enough to get excitement and sense of discovery in their dishes. But then again, there seem to be a trend of inconsistency in chefs' cooking in Ottawa in general so I might have gotten lucky enough to get a quality meal today or I wasn't lucky enough to experience their creative effort on their dishes. Would I go back there again? Maybe not. I gave 4 starts based on other restaurants in Ottawa region. However, I would give 3 stars if I could compare it to other restaurants outside Ottawa as well.

My wife and I went to Courtyard for our anniversary, and it was the perfect venue! I had the beef short rib and was properly impressed. The 48 hour sous vide cooking was fantastic, as was the crust of the meat as well as the jus. My wife had the gnocchi which she said lacked some flavour (although the Enoki mushrooms were packed with flavor). We started with the smoked Terrine which we thoroughly enjoyed, so much smokey flavour! The service was also great and we felt we were in good hands.

The Courtyard Restaurant is a fantastic restaurant, with a beautiful interior featuring natural stone. When eating here you sense the history of the building as well as it s modern accents. I had the pleasure the try the short rib which was outstanding. The Chef takes risks and makes some amazing food. I highly recommend it!

Last minute reservations resulted in an evening to cherish and remember. Bianca was most accommodating and set us up at a private table near entrance which proved to be THE best spot in restaurant. Bianca and Francois were perfect hosts and provided myself and husband with top-scale service, insight into the meal options. Food was excellent, wine list interesting and ambiance superb !! HOpe to return someday soon.

I just got married at the Courtyard Restaurant this past weekend. We had a winter wedding with a perfect snowfall for the outdoor pics in the surrounding courtyards and old stone and modern sculptured surrounding areas. The venue itself was amazing with old stone walls and heavy exposed wood beams lending an age and weight to our ceremony. We paired it with decorative and lighting provided in part by the restaurant. Cynthia, our events manager was there every step of the way to keep things on track and to efficiently handle whatever troubles came our way. Service was prompt, friendly and courteous all the way. The food was amazing no matter what was selected with dishes that were artistically plated with nothing served too cold or too hot. Our cheese platter was gorgeous. Our vegetable crudite platter had colored artisanal carrots. Everything was stepping it up a notch above normal and into exceptional. Quality and price combining for a better deal than anywhere else that we found that offered similar quality. Thank you again Courtyard Restaurant! Our night was amazing!

First of all, I made reservations for a Tuesday night dinner to celebrate a special wedding anniversary for my sister-in-law. I precisely requested a nice table near a window or with a view. They sat us in the farthest corner facing the wall. They started with a glass of water which was warm. A disgrunted customer!

I was seated promptly, and the food also came out very quickly. I stopped by around 2 pm, so it was nice as the restaurant wasn't too busy or loud. The restaurant gets quite loud at dinner time, so this was very nice. The vegetables were a little firm which is fine because that's how I prefer them. Lots of variety with red pepper, yellow zucchini, broccoli, and green beans.I stopped by the Lone Star in Barrie today for lunch.

Chic restaurant on two floors in an old stone house. The 5-course menu with wine accompanying the dinner on December 31 is impressive (reservation required). It introduced me to great wines from Ontario and other parts of the world. The server was perfectly attentive, polite and helpful. The service was neither too fast nor too slow. The meal spanned just over two hours. The tables are spaced and the acoustics of the room are perfect, because it allows you to hear your interlocutor. There is soft music that is neither too loud nor too low. The experience offered by this restaurant is decidedly of superior quality. I plan to return to this restaurant during the year!

I was there for a wedding reception, so given that we had only a few selections and they had to prepare 70 orders I was quite impressed. The food was quite good, weddings are not known for great food since mass producing anything tends to lower the taste, but the steak was well done and the soup, salads and desserts were all very good. The service was also impeccable, your wine and water class never went below half and almost everyone was served within minutes of each other. The bartenders and the DJ also did a great job. An excellent choice and a great wedding reception thanks in part to the staff and cook.

The food here is very good and the presentation is great. Excellent atmosphere too, our group had a great time. The downside of our visit was that service is very slow. Expect a three course meal to take at least 2 hours. It was good that we didn't have anything else planned.

We reserved the restaurant online from Victoria, so by all means a chance was being taken. Laura the coordinator was very professional to deal with and everything was perfect when we arrived for our Wedding reception. The meals we perfect and the desserts were absolutely delicious and the accommodation for our 3 year old niece was great. The decor itself was exactly what we were hoping for. Parking was right next door which was great and we highly recommend the Courtyard for any occasion. Thank you all so much.

Terrible experience, the worst manager I have ever met, rude, inconsiderate and has no idea how to work in customer service. I will never go back there and I'm telling you not to also, until that man is fired. You just can't treat people that way and get away with it.

This place is great! From the decor to the staff and going through food, everything is absolutely A+++! This is a must to try if you are in town or for a night out with the girlfriend or date! It has a romantic ambiance and great food that looks good too!

Loved it! This is the best restaurant so far in Ontario I've been to. We dine on the patio. The atmosphere was great. Moreover the food. Oh, that was impackable. For starters we had a peach soup and carrot salad. Soup was great, salad was delicious, but it wasn't easy to eat because it was hard to get those slices of raw carrot on the fork. For main we had duck and a rabbit and I have to tell you, that was the best duck and a rabbit we've eaten. It was an absolute gastronomic pleasure. Chef was very nice and got us our main dishes... judging by chef's attitude and food he makes, he is passionate about what he does and you can feel it. Thank you for a great experience. Good luck and thank you. PS: service was great too.

This restaurant is fine dining so the menu isn't big. There are not many vegetarian options. The drink menu is good, it's very small so it's nice and intimate. The actual restaurant is in a very cool courtyard with an old rustic, brick design. I deducted two stars because for the price the service was very slow (for a small space), portions were small and the bread they served was cold.

Great place for a romantic evening. I got married here so this place holds a special place in my heart it s classy, white linens, do not show up in jeans. Upstairs is available for private events of about 70 people.

Maybe the best takeout experiences all quarantine so far. We eat out every Friday but versus other restaurants, the Courtyard did a really great job at making a meal that was transportable to your home in a way that makes sense. Sometimes other restaurants' dishes don't translate well for home eating. Also very tasty as usual! Thanks :))
