Purchased a 34" Brush Mower in August of 2018 and ...

Purchased a 34" Brush Mower in August of 2018 and have experienced Engine Problems from the start. Explained this to ** ***** ********* *** from the start with excuses and apologies from the technical staff from the start. The B & S Engine smoked from day one and has been hard to start. Then it took more than two months to receive new blades for the unit. Then nine months later the motor became very hard to start and started to melt the cables to the battery which then turned into won't start at all, even after multiple tries. Checked fuel pump - OK Checked spark - OK Then the shift cables broke one day and this is less than a year old! Also, one of the deck pivot limit bolt and nut assembly snapped off and would stop the tire on the right side of the mower, which would cause the mower to ram into your left side and try to spin at the same time! This injured my right wrist twice over a month period while I tried to mow grass before FIRE SEASON. Found out the Deck Bracket broke because it had tack welds on it instead of complete welds which was performed at the factory by someone who somehow forgot to complete the weld! I am sure that if they had QUALITY CONTROL in place this would never happen. Will be two weeks before the repair facility can look at the machine and then order parts and then fix the machine. My last DR Mower had a Kawasaki Motor and ran for 16 years without any parts needed other than a plastic fan for the top of the Motor! Special Note: The Mower has the possibility of running you over if your DECK PIVOT LIMIT BOLT is missing from incorrect welding and could possibly injure or kill you if you fall when the machine performs a 180 to 360 degree spin backwards while you are behind it!

I would give it a 0. Ordered pressure washer accessories shipment came with wrong item. Called them immediately, was told they would ship right item in 2 to 3 days. Waited 2 weeks called them back . They told me it wouldn't ship for 8 weeks. At that time I requested a refund. Instead I got another charge on my credit card. In the process of disputing it with my credit card company.

I purchased a DR power trimmer and they didn't let me know when it was to come. I called customer service to see and could not get through because of "heavy call volume." I called the order line and got right through -- the person was helpful and I found out when I would get the trimmer. The trimmer was supposed to come with sample trim line but did not. I called the customer service and after 45 minutes gave up and got on line and submitted the complaint.

One weeks later they responded and said they would send me the sample trimmer lines. Today, 10 days later, I got an empty package with directions on how to make the cord last longer.

The trimmer worked great but the customer service is very poor and lacks attention to detail.

Just received the DR 9.59 Pilot, Tow Behind Leaf a...

Just received the DR 9.59 Pilot, Tow Behind Leaf and Lawn Vacuum. Assembly was rather straight-forward. When I got to the deck adapter, there was none. I called customer service, they said "you should have ordered the adapter when you ordered the equipment". When I ordered the equipment, I thought the deck adapter was part of the deal. At any rate, CS said I needed the "angle adapter". The angle adapter arrived and it did not appear that it would work with my John Deere D 130 mower. I called CS and they said that DR shipped the wrong adapter.

I have watched a few of the deck adapter videos and it seems that installation is quite difficult. My John Deere D 130 (and many other models) has probably been configured umpteen times by DR customers. You would think DR would provide a Deck Adapter template for at least some of the most popular mowers. They don't. They should

I wish I could give negative stars. Horrible company! My dad ordered a brush mower from this company and paid for shipping to his door. They did not deliver, saying that a 70 foot trailer could not come down the road he lives on. The 18-wheelers don t seem to have any trouble. After he called about 6-7 times, he finally got a refund of the mower, but they kept money for a warranty and shipping. Why should he need to pay for a warranty for a mower he never received!?! And why should he pay for shipping when it is YOUR company that could not deliver? You charged him for shipping TO and FROM! Never ever buy from this company!!!

Although my PRO 26 field and brush mower is a solid piece of equipment there customer support is truly awful. The extension spring on my idler pulley broke. I tried ordering a replacement part on line but the parts site said there was no such number. I used the part number listed in the DR manual. BTW when I later googled this part number several vendors including Amazon sold it. I called customer service for 3 days and finally got through. Gave the woman my part number and she said it did not exist. Then hassled me for machine's serial number and when I gave it to her she said that did not exist either. She then used my telephone number and found the machine as well as the part number. It was a $5 dollar part. She then told me it would take SIX DAYS! to process the order and another 5 or 6 to receive the part. That would be another 12 days I could not use the mower. I complained by email and was told that the initial problem was that they did not use the last digit when looking up parts. I responded that only they could know that as I was using the part number listed. Incredibly awful service. This is a $2500 dollar machine. They should have overnighted the $5 part for free.

All the negative reviews of this company. Believe them this is the most God awful company to deal with. There is not enough space here for me to type out my displeasure of dealing with this company. They also will not post any bad reviews posted to there DR website so don't bother posting there. They will however after posting a bad review call you right off stating that they will get to the bottom of this problem. I was reassured by the supervisor of customer service that she will call me right back stating when I will get my parts. I told her I am not holding my breath. She stated that I will be surprised when she calls. Good thing I didn't start to hold my breath.

Prior to the company being purchased by the current clowns, DR equipment, service and technical support was superior. I have a farm and have purchased many, many of their products over the past 40 years. Always high quality, prompt service and shipping and very few issues. So that is why the older models are still working, like some of the good reviews have stated. However, all of that changed dramatically for the worse when they were bought by the current company. I used to recommend DR products to all of my other friends and they too loved the product and the company. I totally connect with the people who say they lost the entire season of using the machine because the parts didn't arrive, the wrong parts arrived or no parts arrived. After six weeks of ordering a new locking system for the DR mower trimmer (because the cords kept falling out) I was told they were out of stock. I just received it and they sent the wrong mower assembly for the model number I gave them and they did not send the spacer. It is the middle of August and I have not been able to trim anything. I will have to hire a landscaper because this company has sunk to an all time low and I will NEVER buy or have their equipment serviced by them ever again. I will just buy new machinery from a reputable company. It is so sad that the original company was so good. It must kill them to see the company they built being destroyed by idiots who have no business in the business.

Worst customer service I have ever used!!!!!

I ordered over 3 weeks ago, the ad stated 10-14 day delivery.
The currant ad say 1-3 day delivery.
21 days and still and has not yet arrived.
Nobody there seems to find out when it will ship.
First tried to blame the Hurricane, the order was placed way before the storm ever became a hurricane!
They are in mid-west we are in mountains of NC no storm here, there or in between.
Called service and emailed several times with no credible response.

Started looking on this site and no wonder there are no good posts in over a year or more. It appears that this company does not care about their reputation or their customers. When and if the unit every arrive i hope the unit is better than the company. My advice to anyone reading this post is to stay clear of this company and buy elsewhere!

I'm starting my annual cleanup of trails, both ATV and walking on my property. My primary tool is the DR Field and Brush mower that I purchased in 1995. This machine is without a doubt the best investment that I have ever made. It's the 8 HP Pro Model with the industrial engine. In all of these years it has been reliable, durable and efficient. It's been abused, beaten and battered and continues to perform.
Experts advised me to stay away from this purchase as they felt it wasn't strong enough to take the wear and tear of rough terrain. It has never failed! I bounced it off from hidden rocks and stumps. I rolled it over on a steep bank on one occasion. The machine just keeps on going.
A credit is due to Country Home Products for providing dependable products for we the public to enjoy.
