I arrived pretty angry at being here since Live in rehab was a new experience for me. I took care of people not people taking care of me. But I have found nothing but cheerfulness, compassion and skilled help.

I had the misfortune to waste my time working here. Of course there is no nurse to patient ratio to make this awful job worth it. RN's only have one nursing license right? Don't give it away to this dump. Now I work on a cardiac/stroke unit at a prestigious hospital where the ratio is 4:1 at $55 to $70/h. Better rethink of how you can improve your life which is short.
I have worked with the staff and residents at Cottesmore for several years. The staff has always been helpful and kind with a common goal of excellent care for their residents. I work with Skilled Nursing Facilities/Rebah centers across 3 counties. I would place a loved one at Cottesmore and feel comfortable with the care that they would receive.
I was at Cottesmore for two weeks after hip replacement surgery. The staff was the most efficient I've ever seen. I was treated with respect and pampered. The food could be improved but it was OK. THE BEST!!!!!!
Please never send your loved ones to this place. My father was sent here for 20 days after releasing from madigan hospital. Every time I visited him during a meal time he was getting meals he is not allowed to have. As a dialysis patient with total renal failure you cannot eat tomatoes. Last week I showed up during dinner time and he had a tomato and cucumber salad, grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup for dinner. That is more than 50% of his meal being tomato even though his meal ticket was marked under allergies as not being allowed to have tomatoes.
Today I showed up there and he passed out with his BP reading 90/40. I checked his chest and he had a nitro patch on. When he was first admitted to cottesmore I told them that he cannot have nitro patches anymore since he is now on dialysis. I told them he needs an iv to bring BP up or I would have to take him to the er. They said they would do an iv. 3 hours later and still no iv and I told them to call 911 multiple times and nothing. Finally I walked outside to get reception for my phone and called myself. Ambulance got there and took him to the hospital. Now here at the er they are saying his potassium is very high even though he had dialysis yesterday. They must be feeding him tomatoes, potatoes, and bananas again. Also every time I come I find out his depends only gets changed once a day. Can you imagine, laying in your own waste 24 hours a day and only getting changed 1 time a day. Please never take your loved ones to cottesmore.
My grandfather was here for a couple months due to his fourth stroke...he was able to recover with his range of motion almost even better than before! We are so thankful the staff was able to help him in the ways he needed.
My mother went to Cottesmore after over a week in the hospital. The care could not have been better. The administration went out of their way to accommodate all of her needs in a room and to make sure she felt welcome and comfortable. The facility is new and beautiful. The rehab center was state of the art. The nursing staff was very thoughtful and caring. After her rehab they had staff to help transition her back into living at home. I highly recommend this facility .
I can't stand this place. There staff is lazy or they don't have enough, they neglect there patients and residents constantly it is unacceptable!! There has been multiple times my family has had to stay there and Everytime something happens this place needs a wake up call. I am not impressed what so ever and do not recommend this place to anyone!!!!! Negative stars !
