Poor quality care, no understanding of mental health problems. Konnect Cornwall who have no training in the issues that i wish to discuss
The organisation really helped me by assisting me with my income, supporting me through supported housing and in getting me my own social housing tenancy. They also helped mutually agree on the right medication and couldn't of been nicer even when I was in Longreach detained under the mental health act. Like everyone else they occasionally make mistakes but while under their care I did some very good things like play table tennis and badminton, voluntary work and attend groups. I meet a lot of good people and learnt a lot about how to live well with a chronic mental health condition.
I called yesterday and spoke to a member of the team about my extreme concerns for the safety of my niece and my sister who were coming for a meeting this morning. I made clear the level of risk - self harm, suicide risk and violent outbursts and that they needed urgent help. They were given no help at all and told they would be sent a letter in due course. I am so shocked at the negligent level of care offered to people in desperate need of help due to severe mental health problems. Appalling.
