Terrible school. Offers very little to no accessibility to financial needs. If you plan to drop a class, make sure your finances are in order. They make you pay back double rather than keeping what was not used and taking half back from students. Scandalous school.

I like the school, and the professors are great. All of the professors I have taken have been kind. However, the staff- Araceli the manager from the mission college bookstore is extremely rude. She lacks customer service skills. She will yell at you in front of the entire store to the point where everyone is staring. I have had two negative encounters with her, and I am a very polite person. I have kept my calm even after being completely humiliated by her.

I have had a terrible experience at this College. The facilities are dirty and unequipped for the classes. The instructors seem to work very hard to try to make things work, but the environment is beauracratic and dysfunctional. This is your low functioning community college with loads of ineffective people who either can't or won't do their jobs. There are very few students who hang out at this school - it's completely dead most of the time. Some of my teachers were very good - but overall I felt attending Mission College was not a safe bet. Even though the school is close to my home, my parents and I decided on another community college since I really want to get into a UC.

Most professors are very kind. The summer classes the school is a bit dead. Classes start early but school starts late. For anyone in summer classses make sure all printing is done the day before if you have early classes because the library doesnt open till later. Also grab something to eat before hand. The food place says it opens at 730am but wont open until 8am sometimes after. Some staff is friendly others not as much. In all I do like the school. Do keep in mind there's construction going on in the middle of the campus. At least (for now) the loud part is over.

Took a third party course on this campus - worst experience ever. Paid parking everywhere on the weekends? A joke. The ticket machine in the parking lot didn't work and they gave me a parking ticket which I contested and they said it was my fault. Really? Smaller classes in the back of the campus are very poorly marked so finding your way around even with a syllabus and a class number is a challenge I would't like to repeat. Is it that hard to create a system that tells you where you need to go?

I give this 4 stars for the education, but a one star if I could rate the customer service when dealing with admissions and records (I always get the same person with the crummy attitude).

Admissions & Records: There is a person that speaks to students in a condescending manner and just doesn't listen to facts. Then they turn the issues on the student, when the real issues stem with the school. The behavior of a few employees can give the customer ( the students) a bad impression, and want to go elsewhere. This kind of service should be investigated and changed or said persons should be moved somewhere that isnt dealing with the public. Since no one wears name badges ( a sign of not being transparent or accou table for the customer service experience), I can't give names of who to avoid.

As for the education, all of the instructors that I have had encounters with seem to really care about the education of their students. You would think that is a given in the educational system, but it isnt.

As a new returning student, I appreciate the stellar instructors in the Hospitality Management Department. There are many opportunities to get hands on experience if your time and passion allows. And in this department, the more questions you ask, the more information is shared = better education.

If Mission College has a major that fits your needs, I would reccommend Mission College for the personalized attention by instructors and small campus. If you care about your treatment by Admissions & Records, go elsewhere.

The instructors are almost all great (except the communications dept.), and the overall attitude of students is very serious and intentional. The counseling dept is completely unhelpful, but financial aid is on top of their stuff. The student web interface is sufficient for adding and dropping classes, but nowhere near developed enough in the area of educational planning.

I am a graduate of Mission College! I can say it was a great experience. Instructors were great and helpful. The location of the campus was good and the environment was conductive to learning! I highly suggest this college for the first-time college student!

Marta Panus

Marta Panus
Class: Reading 961
Semester: Spring 2018

Professor Marta is one of the most caring and experienced professors that I ve met at Mission College. She was always available during her office hours, and was truly willing to help. Not only was she there for her students about questions for her class, but also for any future great advice. She was also always engaged in class and was extremely passionate about the lecture presentation. I am grateful that Professor Marta taught me at Mission College, and the College should feel lucky to have such a wonderful professor as part of its staff. Thanks again for a wonderful semester.

Great professors. You'll be able to find a professor you resonate with. The school is go through a lot of construction and a lot of beautification. The school is currently adding more modern buildings and adding more scenery.

It's preety cool that the school installed a bike repair stop.

Mission College has one of the most supportive and enthusiastic professors. I enjoy coming in to all of my classes because they engage me into their lesson plans. Not only that but they make sure that all of their students are understanding the assignments and offer alternative support systems for them to succeed in the classroom. Overall, Mission College is doing an incredible job in getting students prepared towards their future goals.
