We hosted the Believe in Magic Show Benefit for National Association for Down Syndrome on 1/12/14 and all I can say is this place is AWESOME!

The Onesti family has really given this place a make over, with state of the art lighting & a great sound system.

It by far has been the best old Theatre I have ever performed in.

The staff, including Rich, Jacqueline were very accommodating.

They have great shows there all the time, go check it out.

Thanks again & can't wait until our next event there.

People were in an out of the security/ backstage side door the whole show- with no care about the noise or light. It was distracting and a bit rude. Additionally, everyone was in their winter coats as they currently have no HVAC system and there was a strange fog around the theatre.

Looked like such an old cool theatre, especially for the suburbs, so I was a bit disappointed.

Went here for the first time recently even though I drive past it every day. Had a wonderful time seeing a Tom Petty tribute band. Tickets weren't very expensive, and we were able to hang out in this awesome lounge upstairs before the show started. The lounge had bars and live music being played -- I'd love to go there separately sometime as well. Theater was very nice, I highly recommend coming to a show here.

My family & I have attended many shows at the Arcada. The downstairs women's restroom is in need of major remodeling/repair! It is thoroughly deplorable that a theater of its great history can't provide this basic necessity.

Seats in the middle front section are very close together. I've seen many shows there, mostly rock, and I often find it hard to understand lyrics. But Ron brings in great acts from all decades and genres, right to our own little town.

Very disappointing! They over-packed the floor with rows of seats. Unable to allow people to enter and exit the row without everybody stepping into the aisle. You are better off buying cheaper seats which are fixed seats, not portable. Sound system was blah. Vocals could not be heard and understood - may be band related, but a real bummer nonetheless.

I absolutely LOVE the Arcada!! All of the staff is wonderful, especially Nikki. Mr. Onesti greets everyone as they enter and is so welcoming and gracious. Every seat has a great view of the stage and they have had an amazing lineup of performers. I highly recommend this venue....not too big, not too small.....its just right for an intimate feel. I love to treat all my out of town visitors, as well as local friends to a concert at the Arcada, and they have all been very impressed. I have attended at least 10 shows there now and have never been disappointed.

Saw Engelbert Humperdinck in spring 2015. Very intimate setting, floor seats are folding chairs and the back row on the floor is maybe 100' from the stage. Definitely seems like a historic place (without necessarily being run down). Not very modern and doesn't need to be.

Iowa State arcada speakeasy to see a band. I had a great time. The staff is decked out in 20s garb. Only downfall if you're dancing to a band it gets a little hot, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Fifth time here for one of Ron's epic shows. Fifth time it started late. Show starts at 7p for a movie. Not when he has sold enough alcohol and popcorn in the lobby to make him happy. Last time for me.

The new big screen TV and sound system are a great and needed add! Flooring needs updating. Bathrooms need to be stocked with paper towels! I understand it's an old building but make improvements where you can--all are low lying !!

First, when booking an event, be aware that the seating is misleading in the middle section of the main floor. In the center section, in what would normally look like great seats, the theater style seats have been removed and replaced with ordinary chairs, in "church basement" style. The "excuse" is that they do that sometimes to provide a dance floor for certain shows. However, the crammed chairs allow them to squeeze in more seats to sell, and the event we saw had nothing to do with dancing.

We saw Elvis Live, and the band and background sound was way too loud. The second performer was strong enough to sing above it, but the entire first half drowned out the first performer, who was good, but didn't have as strong of a voice. Somebody, either connected with the performance, or with the theatre, should have noticed this early on, and provided feedback to the musicians and technicians so an adjustment could have been made. Unless you knew every word to every song in the first half, you could not hear the singer's words.

What a great venue. Its like walking into the past. All the old things is what makes it unique and worth going to. The size is perfect as you don't get lost in the crowd. I loved the entire experience. Although some spots are a bit crowded if people are standing around it didn't bother me at all. Ron was a great host.

Small venue which is nice. Got great seats really cheap at THEIR box office.
The theatre is awesome. There is a lot to see. Their people were very helpful and they appreciate their customers. Had dinner upstairs. A little pricey, but the food was good and the atmosphere was fantastic!

Love the history here, love the architecture. But ...

Love the history here, love the architecture. But the layout is way too tight, no room to walk, stand or especially dance. Bathrooms are tiny, men's have 3 urinals and 2 stalls for all 500+ people. All of that is tolerable to see shows and experience the sound in there, if it weren't for the security guys. They are excessively aggressive and personally invasive. If this reflects the future of the theater, then I predict it's in trouble cause fans and bands won't want to come here.
