I love this school! Copley is such a diverse town and I love working for this district. The students are a pleasure to work with. Thanks Copley!
I have had the opportunity of being a teacher in The Copley-Fairlawn Schools for twenty-six years. I taught in a private school previously for twelve years, and taught in the college level for eight years. I have been retired for the past five years. I have had the pleasure of witnessing firsthand the dedication, hard-work and continued learning that the teachers in Copley-Fairlawn exercise as they strive for excellence in their best practices for their students. I was the lead mentor, and this allowed me the opportunity to visit classrooms and see for myself the outstanding lessons prepared by the teachers to enhance and enrich each child s education. The majority of teachers, secretaries and aides, stayed after school many days to work, along with taking mounds of work home (without being paid) because the education of their students was paramount. I worked with other school districts as a Master Teacher team member, scoring other school districts teachers work and portfolios. Other members from the other districts were totally impressed with submissions from Copley-Fairlawn teachers. The teachers definitely put the students first. It is very evident by the lessons, experiences and student outcome. The majority of the teachers have masters degrees, additional degrees, some are National Board Certified Teachers as well as many Jennings Scholars. The teachers go above and beyond to provide extra learning opportunities for the students, through various before and after school activities. The teachers take the time to get to know their students, thus developing a safe learning environment as well as fostering lifelong friendships. Many do not get to see how truly dedicated the majority of the teachers are in this district. I believe each teacher tries to instill a love of life-long learning. Of course, the student and parents have a responsibility and role to play in their child s education. Copley-Fairlawn is truly an outstanding school system.
Kelley Williams-Bolar got convicted for trying to provide her children with chances for upward mobility, but who is getting convicted for drafting housing/loaning policies that led to segregated neighborhoods and schools? These district officials chose to reinforce structural inequalities that perpetuate the racial wealth gap by helping to prosecute Williams-Polar. Give Kelley Williams-Bolar and her children the reparations they deserve.
The lady in the office was extremely dry and unfriendly when I came to register my son.
