I've never experienced a worse living situation. I moved in with the house being filthy and with multiple serious problems. I reported all of the problems to management and they took weeks to fix any of the problems (in fact most of the problems have still not been fixed). If there is a problem when you move in, there will the same problem when you move out. Maintenance is horrible and response time is worse. It feels like they ignore us purposefully. Truly a horrible experience. I will most likely will bring them to small claims court.

If I could rank them at zero stars, I would. They have a compromised system that when a tenant pays early or on time the landlord lies to tenants harassing them and claims that the tenant has not paid in order to get an additional payment. What a sham and a shame that responsible tenants are penalized on account of corrupt leadership.

They exploit vulnerable populations, illegally enter units and create issues that prevent responsible and clean tenants from being able to retain their security deposits.

Total trash . If you want to go to work then come home to a headache, false accusations and have your property illegally accessed while your out, move in here at your own risk.

They are not good community partners. Most of their properties aren t well maintained. I ve had the most difficult time getting anyone on the phone so that they can assume responsibility for an overgrown tree in the yard of one of their properties.

These people are truly the most exploitative slumlords imaginable. I can t begin to explain the degree to which there is no lower quality human being alive than whoever runs this business.

Absolutely horrible- do not recommend. Have lived here for 2 years and have had numerous numerous problems, that include black mold and ongoing leaks. Was robbed and the apartment remains unlocked- broken window, no one called me back. Heat did not work in January, they did not address for full 48 hours.

Long story short, I wouldn t rent from them.

Long story short, I wouldn t rent from them.

I m not one to complain, but the amount of negligence on their end is crazy. I have been renting one of their properties for 8 months, opted to stay an additional 6, even after they increased rent 17%, and have yet to see any confirmation the lease is renewed.

I asked if I could speak to my property manager about the lease and was informed during that call that I had a new property manager (never mentioned the change prior to the call). All the while we were emailing who we thought would be able to help us.

Constellar....we re willing to pay you and you don t have anything in order.

absolutely horrible company. they go by several different names (hast investments and guy laren) but they are all cheats and incompetent at what they do. victoria long may just be the worst of them all. they have yet to pay me or my roommate back for our security deposits and insist that we owe them money. take your business elsewhere

Constellar before Nicole came along was awful, as everyone else can tell you. Once Nicole became our property manager, however, things were so much nicer. She was very easy to reach, seemed to actually care about us as humans, tried to work with us if we had issues, and was overall so pleasant and wonderful. The rest of the team at 4323 Spruce street was always super nice when we went in to get packages or ask questions about various issues. Maintenance was done quickly, minus the obnoxious fire panel, but that's a third party thing so they couldn't do much besides pester them to come out.

Our building was recently sold, and the immediate decline in customer service and lack of humanity has been jarring. Nicole and team, I miss you all so much already.

Overall, renting from Constellar has been a horrible experience.

Pros: Location, beautiful and spacious apartment, affordable rent (initially), ease of online portal to pay rent.

Cons: The list is long

1) Communication with Constellar throughout most of my lease was little to non-existent. Our first property manager Victoria hardly ever answered emails, and when I would call or email regarding an issue with our property, `I was either not answered or told the issue would be taken care of when it never was. Or it took days on end to happen. Our second property manager Emily was slightly better, but often gave excuses for why she wasn't communicating or able to do something, such as being short staffed. That's not our problem. Being short staffed is not an excuse for horrible customer service.

2) we were told the apartment would be move in ready upon commencement of the lease. we had to send multiple maintenance requests in the beginning for broken stoves, leaking windows, improperly installed doors that would not stay closed, lights that often short or black out for no reason. wifi took over a month to install because of inadequate information and communication from constellar, fire alarms constantly going off with NO SMOKE in the building. heating and cooling issues throughout the apartment. construction stickers were left on the outside of all windows because they were too lazy to remove them.they did not provide blinds to their massive windows and my roommate and I had to shell out the money for them. our fridge shelves broke within a day of being there and were NEVER replaced despite promises they would be. DISGUSTING stairwell that was not cleaned once until 7 months later after harassing them with multiple emails and calls they finally cleaned it. there was also no garbage system and piles of trash were just left outside the building for days by tenants. A dumpster would have been nice and even better, a place to recycle.

3) When it came time to renew our lease, constellar wanted to raise the rent by $300, which is 17% higher. that is a ridiculous increase in rent. the only way we were able to get out of it was by pointing out to them that they had written in their OWN CONTRACT that they cannot increase rent within 6 months of the lease ending, and they contacted us regarding the increase only a couple months before it ended.

4) finally, and perhaps the worst part, is that there ended up being a mix up with our water bills. We were paying the water on another unit instead of our own, and we were in communication with constellar regarding this issue well before our lease ended. They told us they were sending someone out to look at the meters and determine what was going on. They waited until after we moved out and it was time to give us back our security deposit to inform us we had an outstanding balance on the correct water bill and that they would be deducting this from our security deposit. Our property manager Emily ignored most of my emails for an update regarding the incorrect security deposit amount. They also took $50 out of it for unpaid rent, which ended up also being inaccurate.

The ONLY reason this review is getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because Nicole (who has commented on some of the reviews below requesting tenants reach out to her for assistance), was able to assist me in a prompt manner to return the money that was owed to us from the water bill and the incorrect $50 dollars that was taken. I am appreciative of this and would like to acknowledge that this was the only ray of light in the darkness that was working with Constellar. I hope they improve for their future tenants but I will NEVER rent with them again.

This company is awful to rent from. They ve had to change locks without notice before. They drag their feet when fixing issues and lie that the issues are fixed. Fire alarm went off for over 2 hours because of a huge leak in the laundry room after I reported it to the property manager A MONTH AGO. It was 12:30 am and the fire department said it was a building problem. Of course the emergency line is just a voicemail. Also I was just told the roof was fixed right before this incident.

I m thoroughly disgusted with how this building is maintained and how issues are addressed. Please do yourself a favor and rent from another company.
