This is an amazing resource for our community . The offer so many services call them and see if they can help. I bet you'd be surprised.

Terrible place! Waiting for someone to come confirm what they actually do with the money here..

The lady that answered the phone today was extremely rude. Cut me off and transferred me without even hearing what I fully needed. Luckily the lady that answered the line was very helpful. But first impressions do matter.

1 of the Front desk ladies isn't very friendly, but the other one was. Appointments go pretty quickly, but walk-ins can take a bit longer. Other than that it's pretty clean, friendly, and has ok parking.

People herr are very nice. If they can't help.you they make sure they send you to someone that can help you. Very helpful programs they have for low income families.

They are always friendly when you walk in. The receptionist will take care of you. Also they have a small public gym anyone is allowed to use it. I think that's awesome maybe if more people know about it more will take advantage of it.

They are quick & courteous whether u have an appt or not...they're very knowledgeable & assist you in any way possible, if they can, if they're unable 2 assist u, they will direct u 2 someone who can assist & they'll even call, advise the other party of the situation & let the other party know 2 b expecting u...they assist low income families & persons w/ disabilities w/ anything u can think of...they assist w/ hot meals thru the weekdays, funds 4 shut off notices, rides 2 drs appts, lower ur monthly utility costs, etc. They also have an awesome exercise room tht is free 2 use after u sign a disclosure stating their not @ fault 4 any & all injuries tht occured while using the equipment & there not responsible 4 any stolen items due 2 the room not having any form of supervision. Head start is also n the building along w/ HUD/Section 8 & Energy Assistance. They assist n job training, resume building & help u fill out apps, they have a computer lab where u can go use the internet on there computers & if u need 2 print ur able 2, during tax season they have pros there that'll file ur taxes 4 free!!! There are so many programs & activities tht r offered @ HRDC tht it would keep u busy 4 a yr or longer, they have quilt knitting classes & stress management classes, etc.

I thank God EVERYDAY tht HRDC was made 4 low income families & families w/ individuals tht have disabilities & now HRDC is available 4 everyone 2 enjoy regardless of ur financial situation, color, race, sexual orientation, religion, etc., cuz I honestly dk wht I would have done or where I would b this very day w/o their help & kindness. If it wasnt 4 Allegany Co. HRDC, I wouldnt b living n a single family home (yes, tht I rent) but the rent is very low so I'm able 2 afford it, instead I would still b living n public housing where my kids & myself were harrassed & threatened so much tht both my daughter & myself have developed PTSD jus from living there 4 7 yrs, I wouldnt have any way 2 my drs appts or have medical tests done so I wouldnt have any drs or b on any of the meds tht I need 2 b on like my epileptic meds & I would nvr n a million yrs b able 2 afford my utility bills especially considering my heat is electric baseboard heaters instead my water & my electric would have been shut off for months now but there not & cuz they have helped me get back on my feet in so many ways I do whatever I can 2 give back

Whether it b volunteering n the community, donating food 2 food pantries or jus simply recommending ppl 2 go there & talk 2 them & c if they r able 2 help...THANK U ALLEGANY CO. HRDC!!! WE WILL FOREVER B GRATEFUL!!!

GO AHEAD...GIVE EM A CALL...C wht kinda assistance u can get or if ur jus looking 2 get outta the house 4 a couple of hrs u can call & c what activities r going on @ the time

The HRDC on Virginia Ave. is a good resource 4 help & guidance in many aspects of our lives & needs 4 people of all ages whether it's programs of financial assistance or information 2 get u 2 where you'll get help, etc.! The "Senior Center" is within the same building, how great is that!

Great business that will help the people in need as much as possible. Will explain things to you thoroughly to be sure you understand. Also offer other great services to the ones in need.

Great staff working in every department there :) Senior center is awesome, and I remember my grandfather received meals on wheels from there and that was an amazing service. Thankful our community has this amazing place full of so many resources!

Very loving animal people. Very helpful and friendly with our 4 legged animals and people.

HRDC is great! Everyone is very helpful. You can get help with utility bills, there's a senior center and the they serve a discounted lunch for seniors. They have a work out room, classes for painting, and dancing. They're involved in the community and they can help with taxes. They also have information for low income help for people. Great place!
