A fantastic day trip from Seville. If you're interested in the Roman civilisation then this is a must-see. Also, a good day out for those who aren't as interested! Game of Thrones fans will want to check out the amphitheatre where a key scene was filmed in season 7!
Nice way to spend an afternoon, huge park with well preserved amazing Roman ruins...not much shade, careful on hot days!
Come early in the morning when the ribs are still cool and before all the tourists and students come
This is a very cool Roman city. Technically, they are supposed to close at 3:00 pm. We got there on Sunday at 1:45. We went in for free. They already had the chains up at the best scenic locations. They said it was almost closing time. So, they wouldn't let us in to the best spots. We were able to navigate through the basic amphitheater. Better than missing it completely.
The new Italica and the archeological park are a real gem. The mosaics, ruins, shadows of past glory. It does take a bit of imagination to see a bustling city with its temples, baths, shops and workshops, townhouses and apartment blocks. But when you see it you cannot stop thinking about it.
Well worth the trip from Sevilla.
Short drive from Seville took us back 2000 years. It was stunning, we could almost hear the sounds of the fights in the arena (or it were our own voices).
Mind the temperature, it could be very hot, but we were lucky.
The whole site was pretty empty, which made the experience even stronger.
Definitely have a look at the remains of the town, the mosaics are beautiful. You can enter the site for free as a citizen of the EU.
I loved this place!! I love roman history and this amphitheatre has survived very well! I suggest booking a tour to find out about the history. The Games of Thrones fan in me totally geeked out too!!
This was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Since we qualify as Sevilla residence we got in free. It was quite moving to be in ruins from so long ago. Our kiddos enjoyed the day.
Amazing and astonishing place. There are no words to describe this ruins. The remains of an old Roman town in a wonderful state. If you come to Sevilla, you should definitely come to Italica. Only one but, the staff populating the place is one of the most lazy, unfriendly and inactive I've seen anywhere in my life. They surely don't depend on the ticket or the number of visits to get paid, otherwise I don't get it...
