Community Residences is certainly not a high quali...
Community Residences is certainly not a high quality agency for developmentally disabled citizens to receive services through. There are many examples in support of why I feel this way. First off, let me just say that it s pretty rare that I actually take the time out to write such a long review. Especially, when it's negative or critical of a product or service. For the most part, I do feel like businesses and agencies really try to offer the best quality products and services they can. Obviously, that can't always happen because you're never going to please 100% of the people 100% of the time. Now with that established, let me just state that the quality of care offered through Community Residences is deplorable! During the time that my handicapped grandson was receiving services here through Community Residences, there were countless and multiple unexplained red marks and abrasions. At first, I honestly believed the explanation which had been provided by this agency's administration: sometimes accidents happen and clients can develop injuries if they move suddenly or can't gage their surroundings properly due to their limitations. Those explanations were fine for the first couple of times that my grandson had developed seemingly unexplained red marks and abrasions. However, after about the fourth incident of this happening, I quickly began to suspect that something else was amiss. My worst suspicions were confirmed one day when I had witnessed my grandson being verbally berated and yelled at by three of the staff here because he wasn't cooperating with their instructions. Luckily, I was able to intervene quickly enough before anything else happened. However, had I not been there to jump in and come to my grandson's rescue, I'm not 100% certain that it would have been limited to verbal abuse only. Unfortunately, after filing a complaint with this agency, they quickly turned everything back around on me and my husband. We both felt like criminals and scapegoats for reporting suspected abuse and neglect of our grandson. However, the administration sided with their staff 100%, basically banned us from any future services through the agency, and told us that we were no longer welcome there. This was certainly not the response which I had hoped to receive from Community Residences, Inc. who I had once thought to be a reputable and ethical agency. However, please let my review here on Google be a warning to those who might be considering using this agency for services for their own loved ones. Based upon my terrible experience during the latter half of my grandson's treatment with the agency and all of the minimizing and scapegoating which had continued after we reported our suspicions of abuse and neglect in good faith, this is actually the absolute last agency which I would ever recommend to others in the treatment and care of their relatives or family who may have developmental disabilities.
