They didn't even finish my medical history. Pure guesswork. No tests or labs other than temp and BP. Made same mistake again twelve hours later when my condition worsened. Absolute joke calling themselves an ER, total waste of my time. Awful. So disillusioned about this place now, how are they staying in business???

My mother arrived to SMOZ via ambulance where she coded and unfortunately did not make it. SMOZ lost ALL of her belongings, her phone, her clothes, her fitbit, her jacket... all GONE. When asked where were her belongings, nobody knew where they were. The manager told us there is only proof that she had on pajamas and they had to be ripped off of her because of her condition. Ok so we, the family, are lying about what she had on, how insulting! Her phone and fitbit alone are over $1000 lost by SMOZ and we were told there is no compensation for this and case has been closed. Very frustrated with this organization.

Was recent a patent there and I received the red carpet treatment from the moment I walked in. From the ER staff to all the doctors assigned to my case, to the 3rd floor nurses and aids, and let's not forget the amazing surgical staff that took care of me during the two separate procedures I needed. It's was such a comfort to know I was in the best care possibly with the best kind and caring people/ medical professionals I have ever encountered. Thank you all again, you all are the TRUE definition of HEROS.

After reading some of the reviews, I was a little nervous about going to CSM. But I was very happy with my out patient experience. From the valet parking attendant, the information desk staff, the registration staff, all the nursing staff, physical therapist and the surgical team everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. My caregivers were concerned for my comfort. My surgery was later in the day and I did not feel like anyone was trying to rush me out.
Thank you to all the staff that cared for me. Great job.
The 4 stars is due to a pre registration call from a not as friendly staff.

Started with s snotty and rude receptionist, horribly uncomfortable beds and chairs, cold rooms, no available towels or blankets if you need one. You had to beg for everything and wait for a response. Everything to make you want to leave asap, except the Dr can't be bothered to give your discharge orders even though they told you to call for your ride over 3 hours before. This was not a good experience, ER people were friendly and competent things went downhill after admission.

In 2015 I went to this hospital as in-patient in their behavioral health division. I was going through a temporary crisis, triggered by a sudden addiction to cigarettes - and the depression that came from the obsession of such.

I told them I wanted to be Luvox, and they put me on it, and it didn't help. I came back and they performed electroshock therapy but I knew that won't help - I was trying to buy more time because I didn't feel well enough to go back home, and that surgery takes a week or two to perform.

Anyways, they never really treated me and I still needed to see someone, so I had to go to Milwaukee County Behavioral Health and they did the right thing by prescribing me Wellbutrin for the time being.

So why do I rate this place four-stars? Well, when the issue subsided I was left with a medication, Wellbutrin, that triggers manic episodes for me. Last time I was there - Nov 2015 - they took me off of Wellbutrin and I have felt much better since.

The real reason why I don't give this place five-stars isn't because of the doctors, or my stay there, but because they lack options for outpatient behavioral help. Granted, I live closer to the CSM at North and Lake Drive, but this faculty seems to be pretty small and lacks the resources for long-term care.

This was the last place I came to for inpatient behavior health. It's been two and a half years since my last visit, and I'm doing much better for myself. In part because of the wonderful nurses and doctors that treated me.

Patient care is one of the highest here I have ever experienced in a hospital environment from ER to all levels of health care. Whatever the mindset they are using in their training for patient care , it shows and is rewarding to me!

My mother came here for surgery and stayed in the ICU for a few days after. The quality of staff from the doctors and nurses, to the cleaning staff was wonderful. Everyone that entered her room was kind, patient and respectful of her and her needs. We are not unfamiliar with hospital stays and this by far was a breath of fresh air.

Thank you to the surgical team and ICU staff at Colombia St. Mary.

ER has little mercy for patients in pain, or prompt admittance. Long stays with no care. Going to have to find a new Urologist because I can't tolerate being in this place. The only thing they are good and promt at, is demanding your co-pays. If you think this ER is good, you havent been to Froedtert West Bend. NEVER AGAIN. No need to respond with your cut and paste call us response, I won't be calling.

No stara. There's a gay ER supervisor here who is biased to women. He flips his head and says he's not going to deal with this when I ask about the medications he prescribes. Then he threatens to call security when I go tell on him and ask for my Dr who was helping me and said she'll be right back. This is a case of a gay man who hates women and disabled women- even more. He's extremely biased and should be investigated. I got no treatment thanks to his threats and treatment and I'm just glad to make it home and not jail.

Behavioral Medicine Review

Behavioral Medicine Review

NEGATIVES: (1) Place is unorganized [Caseworker did not know how many pills were administered - even with patient file in hand, printed out another patients medical form in discharge folder] (2) Lacks professionalism [Staff members gossip untruths and assume things without asking] (3) Pushes pills and want to keep patients in as long as possible

POSITIVES: The receptionist at the ER desk was helpful and the nurse in the ER was patient. Some of the nurses and one of the caseworkers in Behavioral Medicine were friendly and helpful. The negative review is dealing with the bad apples.

These people saved my mother's life for at least a few days. She's terminally ill with stage 4 lung cancer. They got her responsive again and able to get to hospice despite the fear she wouldn't live to see Wednesday.
Thank you.

I can t say enough good things about this hospital and their amazing staff. I had a really unfortunate accident over the weekend and broke my femur. All of the staff that cared for me were incredibly kind, supportive and patient. I was pretty emotional about the whole thing and each of them did everything they could to help me to be as comfortable as possible and to make sure that I had everything I needed. They are all incredibly talented, smart and hard-working. Andrea (RN) and Pao (CNA), managed to turn my tears to laughter and were able to help me stay positive in an incredibly difficult moment. Thank you so much for all that you do, I appreciate you so much!

I had a family member that was admitted to the ICU and was there for three days. Not ONCE did I receive a call from a doctor in regards to their condition and I am the primary family member. I did receive a call from a case worker, and I never received a call notifying me of my family members discharge and had to hear it from another family member, in which the patient family member told them. To this day, I have no idea the care my family member received while a patient or what type of follow up my family member needs. I am very dissatisfied and am completely lost for words on the poor care my family member received.

It has taken me a few years to write this but it still haunts me to this day. My friends dad was taken via ambulance to this hospital. He had terminal cancer. I was close to the hospital so as I got the call I rushed over to see if he was ok.........I got to his room, he was in pain and had an IV in him.....and could not talk. Two girl workers were in the next room and when I asked what was going on.....they did not reply and giggled as I walked back to the man DYING. I held his hand and asked him yes or no questions...squeeze once for yes two for no. He made it for 3-4 before passing...all while his family was on the way.

My grandmother had the most caring, real, and helpful nurses. They new exactly what was going on, even during the staff changes each day, and had genuine care and concern for not only my grandma, but for my family as well. I would not take my family anywhere else!

I have been here many times! Some for myself, husband, and child. The ER wait time is crazy long which is annoying as all hell but it's like that everywhere so it's nothing personal I know. I went to the mental health unit in 2011 for an opiate addiction and treatment. I'd have to say the treatment I received was ok, and the 6 week intensive outpatient program was helpful. Dawn, the leader at the time was amazing.

What bothers me, is that I was going in to sober up and find healthy coping strategies and just left with a new addition. They put me on Suboxone. Which, yes it did help me. However, I was told it wasn't addictive and it was only temporary. Let me tell ya, it's addictive and wasn't temporary. I've been on it since and cannot get off of it for nothing. I've been trying but it's harder to kick this than it was with opiates. So I'm back at square one.

I'm not here to knock Suboxone. Like I said, it helped me. But patients should be told the truth about it and it should really be temporary so there's no risk of addiction. It just seems like replacing one with another? I wasn't given the choice to go sober cold turkey, I was told I had to go on it. I would've been better off doing it in the comfort of home, but I was too afraid to because I knew it was hard and with a side of mental illness, it can be a scary thing. So, my issue lies with the "addictionologist" or whatever they called him. Now, I'm on a whole new struggle, thanks a lot.

4 stars to the actual hospital and most staff. Clean, safe place which is nice. Kind and caring staff.

Worst experience I've ever had in the E.R. to date. My doctor never introduced herself to me at all. I had asked for pain medication and was told it was ordered. Then had to page the nurse 2 times, and wait over an hour and 40 minutes. For no reason. When the pain was that unbearable and I started crying and had enough. Been there for a couple hours at this point, I wanted to leave. At this point the doctor finally ordered the pain medication. What is this?? Then had the nerve to argue with me because I am beyond upset and in a tremendous amount of pain. She had no bed side manner what so ever. I never want to ever go back to this hospital. Worst doctor I have ever come in counter with. She truly was. Shame on you Columbia St. Mary's..... shame.... since when did caring for people become a thing of the past?? Just ignore and evade.... great tactics for for terrible doctor's.

There is a PA that works in the ER there that has zero bedside manner and acts like she's got a huge ego problem. Her medical knowledge is limited at best. She nearly killed my family members on 2 occasions. Luckily we went to a different ER and we will never recommend or go to CSM Ozaukee ever again!
It's seems they have taken a turn for the worst care possible in the past 2-3 years

Three stars because the pre-op nurse was amazing, but the post-op team seemed to just want us to leave. My husband helped me get to the bathroom and get in and out of the chair and bed in the post-op room, I had paperwork shoved at me that had very limited information on what I should and shouldn't do after my surgery (which was a major surgery), but we had to "hurry and leave now before your pain meds wear out." I never had any breathing information explained to me, and my pain levels were out of control there, as well as home. My poor hubby my first night home had to wake up every hour with me due to my pain levels, I couldn't even get to the toilet by myself. I should have been kept overnight as soon as the nurse saw that my pain was not resolved by the medication for the entire time it was suppose to work. She said instead to flip from 2 pain pills every four hours to 1 every 1 1/2 hours, so it would run smoother. The problem with that is my husband got zero sleep for my first 36 hours home. A hospital overnight would have allowed him to get some sleep and be a husband instead of a nurse...he did an amazing job, but for what we pay out for medical bill that was crazy...we actually said it reminded us of the commercial of the do it yourself surgeries.

The staff and most of the doctors here are great. When I went in complaining of blind spots in my eyes I didn't know what to expect. I was kept over night to see the neurologist, Dr. Connor, and was eventually diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Connor is the best doctor one could ask for. The food in the hospital is like also surprisingly delicious for hospital food. I was treated with respect and compassion. They even allowed my boyfriend to sleep on a cot next to me in a time I was most frightened.

I was admitted to St. Mary's Ozaukee on 12/31/2016...

I was admitted to St. Mary's Ozaukee on 12/31/2016 and stayed 5 days for treatment of community acquired pneumonia. In the ER and step-down ICU I was treated promptly for early sepsis with fluids, antibiotics, and corticosteroids. After about 24 hours I was transferred to a regular floor where I made a smooth recovery.

I see my experience through the eyes of both a patient and of a doctor trained in internal medicine. From both perspectives I see my care as virtually flawless.

Some specific examples include:
1) Rapid, appropriate initial care for my developing septic shock.
2) Staff at all levels who ALWAYS showed respect for me as a person
and were quick to respond to even minor requests. Overall, they made
me feel comfortable and safe.
3) My hospitalist doctor who listened to my concerns about symptoms
I had for several weeks before my admission. Although sinusitis
wasn't part of my admission diagnosis, she obtained a sinus CT that
showed significant infection. This information will be valuable for
future management.
4) All necessary appointments, including for primary care and ENT were
in place at the time of my discharge. My post-discharge continuing
care is in place. This is good medicine and gives me peace of mind.

Although one experience is a small part of a hospital's total work, good medical care is achieved one patient at a time. As a single individual I am grateful to St. Mary's Ozaukee Hospital for giving me outstanding care that put me on the road back to health.

My experience at Columbia St. Mary s Ozaukee was very positive. I arrived via ambulance in respiratory distress during the second wave of Covid in November 2020. Covid testing and diagnosing my condition took some time but I never felt that my care was poor or I was being neglected, just part of being sick in a pandemic. It turned out that I had pneumonia and multiple pulmonary embolisms. I spent 4 nights in the hospital. The care I received there was exceptional. I will never forget my nurses Demi and Maggie - skilled and caring. Everyone, including phlebotomy techs, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, nutrition and housekeeping were so kind. The doctors and their treatment was spot on because I m here a few weeks later writing this review! :)
Thank you Columbia St. Mary s Ozaukee!

This hospital is one of the best in southeastern Wisconsin. From the ER to the ICU the staff was extremely nice and helpful. The staff made sure I felt comfortable of my surrounding and the staff is always there right away. If you had to go to a hospital in Ozaukee County choose CSM Ozaukee because It is a lot better than Aurora in Grafton and even Saint Luke's in Milwaukee. You will not regret going to Columbia St Mary's Ozaukee.

We were told to go to the ER bye our primary Doc. When we go to the room the Doc. asked why are you here. Her blood pressure was 180/95 with a puffy face and vomiting. The Doc then told us that he's not going to do anything. Never go here if you want to stay alive. This place has bad bed side manor. Very rude and load while talking to patents. I wouldn't take a stranger here in a emergency none the less my family.

They definitely try to get you in and out as fast as humanly possible. They had me off the bed and into a chair within the first minute of returning to my room from surgery
The sheet on the bed in the room I was brought into appeared to be dirty or blood stained. I had to ask for clean sheets. .
The check in process was also rather ridiculous, I checked in prior to surgery via a phone call, checked in at the registration desk, checked in with a registration person in a cubical ,and then checked in at the surgical floor. If you ask me, that's overkill!
The weirdest part about all of it was that I was given one of those discs that lights up and vibrates when it's your turn ( the type restaurants hand out when there is a wait).
I think they should focus less on making the building so flashy and more on the healthcare aspect.

And it should be Against The Law for this kind of place to employ doctors of this stature!! I have seen wild animals that are better mannered than these doctors at this hospital!!

Their ER staff is rude and unprofessional, I had to wait for over an hour for my eye emergency for the doctor to come in and tell me that he is not a "eye" specialist but he would give me a referral. No tests were done, even an "eye emergency room" wasn't available, it was DIRTY!!! So the nurse had to take me to another room.
What a waste of time and money.
I would never come back to this place again!
