Walls anywhere something was installed from factory behind the siding the home is 20 yrs old and the wood sheeting behind siding is totally rotted through even into the studs and floor joist and colony said it's not there problem because the home is older than 10 yrs old so the craftsmanship they advertise offs not what you think it might look good on the outside but look deeper
If the was an option for no stars that's what this company deserves! The craftsmanship of those homes is pethetic. They do not stand behind their products either! Do yourself a favor and pass over any deal they offer you. I promise you will regret working with these people!
I would give them zero stars if it was an option. Run don't walk away from this company. They have absolutely no quality control at all. The craftsmanship looks like a five year old put this house together. They do not respond to complaints and do not back up their product. My house is a disaster. Outlets and lights don't work. Plumbing leaks everywhere. Duct work was filled with all sorts of junk. I ordered my house 11 months ago and still can not get a certificate of occupancy because nothing works. The cabins are all cracked and taped. Nails are coming through all the flooring. Fireplace doesn't work. Air conditioner doesn't work. I wish I read all these reviews before I made this purchase. I went through American Homes in Richfield Springs, NY and they all just point fingers at each other but nobody fixes anything. DO NOT USE THESE COMPANIES OR YOU WILL REGRET IT.
AVOID this manufacturer. The lack of quality is horrendous to say the least. Not one outlet or light switch is placed evenly, doors and trim look like they came out of the garbage, nothing is level in the home. Registers and duct work are filled with drywall dust, pieces of drywall, nails, wood. There is insulation laying in the bathroom vent/light. Apparently there is no quality control at this factory and they just slap up anything and call it good or put any care into their work. My toddler could have done a better job.
After being in the home for almost 6 months, things only seem to get worse. The furnace just would stop working, so after a call to colony MULTIPLE TIMES, they send someone out. This person does not work for colony which is probably a great thing. The furnace was wired backwards! This is not the first wiring issue that has been found. Total incompetence!
From day one , everyone was super nice. From the men who hauled the home in , placed it up and came back to work on a few issues,. We couldn't have asked for a better experience..We love the home and enjoy having guests in that rave about how beautiful it is. Thank You Colony for a Great Product and Great experience.
We have lived in our home for 3 months now. It is beautiful, we have a 3 bedroom 2 bath single. The only 2 things that drive me crazy are that the built in entertainment center is not centered on the wall or in the room( either would have been fine) and the trim around the doors and windows randomly falls off and has to be put back up and our dealer went through and put extra nails in it when the home was done being placed too. The photo I added shows the entertainment center mentioned above.
I bought a house put together by these people. Stay far away as they do straight cob-job work. Electrical line hung by twine, on top of a damaged wire just wrapped in electrical tape, stapled house siding on instead of nailing it down, major holes in the wall where they ran 3 wires behind a vanity mirror. Window coming apart from the side of the house. These people are the worse in business!
Nothing but garbage. I believe they get a discount to buy bulk garbage and put in these homes. What you see at the home sales lot is all upgraded you dont get any quality at all.
When going in the attic you see where several nails have come through and not properly put together. Colony will blame you. Cracks in the tubs, faucets falling off leaks under the tub nothing is level. And dont think your going to hang a picture even with an anchor they come back down, towel racks toilet tissue holders. 2011 all appliances have had to be replaced, AC on the fritz. Worst purchase of my life!!!
Avoid this manufacture poor workmanship. They must not have a quality control department. There was crooked outlet face plates, doors out of square, glass shower wall was very crooked you could easily see it. The trim was crooked not even against the wall. It seems like they don't care when building it.
