Called and the lady who answered the phone was very rude

They say community atmosphere but they really don't show you to do things as a community. They seem to like to throw around that they are friendly but they don't truly seem to care all that much. Seems like to company too on more than they can handle

They own over 10 Apt complexes in Dover, DE. They are not very good. They keep rising the rent every year & still want their rent even if you have no job or making less money. They don't care about their tenants. They will not make compromises.
Some of their apts have bed bugs. They always blames the tenants. If they keep doing treatments to get rids of the bugs, they will evict the tenants and tenants pay the bugs treatment bill. They will not come to apt to fix things if you have bugs.
Even if tenants don't have bugs, sometimes it take for does to fix things or they don't fix things at all. We have to keep calling them until they fix it. Some complexes have basements that gets flooded and things don't work like the hot water heater. They will not support people who get mistreated but they will support the people who mistreat people.
The gov. will not do anything about all those problems. They need to be shut down

Wish I could give no stars. Adelle L. Welzel the manager and Esther someone who works in the office, are very rude and unprofessional. I got approved for the apartment at Mitten Apartments. I asked Esther to look at the apartment before I moved in. I was denied that right. I spoke with Adelle in regards to everything that transpired with Esther, Adelle was extremely rude, curt and so unprofessional. Colonial Investment are rip-offs. They took my $50 and did not allow me to look at the apartment after being approved. Disgusting people and customer service.

Landlord Adelle is very very immature she read my personal debts to me over the phone in a very sarcastic manner, she also brought up the fact that because i had a dog pitbull puppy that she wasnt going to rent to me wow that sounds like shes personally holding on to that fact for over 25 years. Not the fact that i have income. She said that there was no pet policy. She is lying she was only the receptionist when i rented my apartment, and you could have a pet, even now in the tenant info. You can have a pet. She needs to let go and move on. I will file a complaint about this

Management is quick to remedy any issue or problem you may have without grumbling or complaint. I have never before encountered such a responsive management company. They make life easier!

Was denied to move in one of their townhomes ... With barely anything on credit report, fair credit, job for eight years, made three times the rent, and never been late on my current rent for over two years ... I'm so disgusted

I have had the privilege of working with the management team at Colonial Investment for over eight years and can tell you firsthand- they are great people and very involved in maintaining and protecting their homes and tenants.
Bad reviews come from bad tenants.
Adele, Bonnie, Judy, Paul, and the team are to be commended. I work with many property managers, and they are the best.

We really appreciate renting from Colonial Investment. The apartment is really comfortable and well managed. Anytime I have ran into a problem, whether a closet door was broken or the dishwasher did not work properly, they sent someone competent over in less than a week and they always fixed the problem.

Very nice apartments. Very clean and nice neighborhood

I've rented from this company 3 separate times. Obviously I like the company since I keep renting from them. Whenever there is a maintenance issue, it is taken care of in a timely manner. If it's not urgent, you may not be put at the top of the list, but it will be taken care of. They keep the common area of the buildings clean as possible, but you do have some tenants that won't help keep the buildings clean by picking up after themselves. As far as rent increases are concerned, the previous two times I rented, I didn't experience many increases, but this time I have been subjected to two increases. One each year I've been here. (I am month to month) I would recommend renting from Colonial Investment and Management Company.
