Col Jones Swim Fitness Review

Focussed instructors, a clear pathway to learning swimming techniques and a pool that looks like the cave lair of a James Bond villain. Five stars.

We have been coming here for 15 years. It's method of teaching progresses kids quickly through understanding all the strokes. My yr 10 does squads twice a week and loves it. Even made it to the regional swimming carnival this year. My year 1 looks forward to lessons each week. Only complaint is the showers are tired and could really use an update.

This is the best swim school I know of. They have classes of 4 or less with a tutor walking between the three training pools to see if any student has progressed through their many levels of achievement. I have ALWAYS had the same instructor for any level my child is in. The instructors are under constant supervision and really care about progressing your child.

I've been through other schools where they rotate instructors every month, the instructors never develop a relationship with your child and they appear to be simply "going through the motions". That would never happen at Col Jones.

I'll never go anywhere else.

Hands down best swim school we have been to, and we ve been to plenty! Our kids have come further in 1 1/2years than they did in 6yrs at other places. Staff are always friendly, they remember who we are, pool is always clean. Highly recommend

Col Jones Tempe is an exceptional swim school providing clear milestones for students to achieve. Teaching is consistent with minimal changes to teaching staff. However. The program is so well defined that any changes to staff are easily transitioned. I always highly recommend Col Jones Tempe.

Its my son second class. But i can see the level of professional working here.

These guys offer really good swimming lessons. If you want to learn how to swim or want to bring your kid here then I highly recommend it. These guys taught me how to swim a long time ago.!!!

All three of my kids have had a positive experience learning to swim at Col Jones. Col Jones provides a clear progression pathway, and at each new level the kids are told the specific skills they need to learn in order to move up. The swim instructors we've had have all been friendly, patient and encouraging, and the staff in general are helpful and professional. I can highly recommend Chris and his team at Col Jones Tempe to anyone looking for a great swim school.

Excellent small classes. Teachers are great and my daughter loves the advancement sticker system and poster.

Enthusiastic instructors and the supervisor makes an effort with all the kids. Improvement excellent and enjoyment of learning to swim makes it easier to attend each week. Reception staff very helpful with bookings and there is the option to pay month to month at reception. Highly recommended!

We swim all year at Col Jones. Great teaching system which the kids love.

The centre changed to a policy where they do not allow for changes in class times despite being non-casual and there being no children in a class. Really stupid.

Such a hidden gem. My kids learn to swim here and love it.

Our kids have made great gains since we switched to Col Jones as a result of the very specific feedback they get on how to improve.

My 2 daughters improvement in the past 2 months is BRILLIANT. Instructors are encouraging and positive. Centre has a friendly vibe and very clean - water sparkles.

This is the worst swim school in Australia probably, the water is disgusting, the change room are freezing and the classes are way to big, groups of 5-6 in just one lane, absolutely disgusting.

Col jones tempe is the best swim school when you compared to others! As the staff are well trained, they knew what they are doing. The students has been assessed and progress quickly!

No frills swimming lessons! These guys focus on technique, not fun, so it may not appeal to all kids. Experience can vary depending on the instructor, but overall we are happy with our kid's progress

Engaged, genuinely caring teachers and instructors. Excellent facilities.

Both my boys have swam at Tempe from very young. Eldest now in early morning squads and youngest in Silver. Well structured learn to swim program and small classes provide good attention to your child each lesson. Instructors very encouraging and supportive of the kids. Love the display of class progressions on the wall both my boys loved seeing how far they had progressed through the levels. Friday night swim club also very positive experience for the kids.

Great instructors. Really good at getting kids to progress through the stages. Lots of support for the newer instructors. We have tried several other swimming schools with our kids over the years. This is easily the best experience we have had.

After attending another local swim school for a number of years and having been frustrated at the level of disorganisation, lack of care and lack of communication, Col Jones was recommended to us.
My son has thrived since joining a year ago. He has progressed far more quickly than he had previously and most of all enjoys himself.
The teachers are consistent and do a great job.

We have seen our son s confidence grow so much since he started lessons at Col Jones. Friendly instructors who try to build rapport really quickly. Good facilities that they are continuously improving.

Grandson Archie has just completed 4 lessons with Kumar, he is the most amazing swimming teacher we have encountered during our time of taking grandchildren to swimming lessons, we have tried them all over the years, this was our last hope, Kumar is a star. He has now moved up a level, sadly no Kumar now, hopefully he will continue to continue to make steady progress.

If any one ask me I really recommend this pool,they got the best instructors,Kumar is the best swimming instructor they got,I suggest u take one class with him u will find a improvement in your kids swimming.

Love the structure of the classes, keeps the kids motivated as they move up. Most of the instructors are enthusiastic.

Pro's - good quality lessons run by staff who are well drilled. Our kids have been progressing quite well for 3/4 years at Col Jones
Cons - their "No make up" or "No catch up" lesson policy is purely a money grab. For example lessons are scheduled the first week of January & if you are on holidays you pay for the lessons and cannot catch up. All other junior sport lesson schools have a make up structure for clients.

Col Jones is know for swimming lessons rather than lap swimming. I have tried all the other schools in the area with my 3 kids and Col Jones, by far, beats them all. They grade the children each week and ensure they are challenged and learning constantly. I would recommend them to anyone for swimming lessons, they are true professionals and all the instructors are great.

Zero make up lessons, you end up paying for lessons you're not attending despite giving them notice. Very poor standards! Other swim schools offer make up lessons, why not put a system in place such as those? Our days are numbered, will look else where in the upcoming month.

My daughter went from being terrified of the water to absolutely loving swimming after lessons at Col Jones Swim school. The instructors are fantastic. I would highly recommend this school.

Not allowed regulars to change times; no make up class; admin team are terrible; they have kids trying at a regular class of 4 out of the learning time; totally the worst business model I ve known

For starters, the setting is amazing!

My son hadn t had swimming lessons for a couple of years and had very little confidence in the water. In a few short weeks - once a week , not intensive - he gained his confidence and has even gone up a level. This is due to the fantastic swim teachers. He loves it here!

Col Jones is great! The instructors are lovely with the kids and expert trainers. It is great to be able to get in and out, focusing on the lesson without the distraction of free/play zones

Teachers and supervisors are surprisingly patient and continually encourage my son as he does not like swimming. When my son is promoted to a higher grade as a result of improvement he is given a sticker to add to his progress chart which is excellent motivator for him. THANK you Col Jones Swim team.

Fantastic training that works! Moved my kids from closer swim schools that were fairly useless. This program has clear goals, and gives kids an incentive to train hard and enjoy it. KL

My Son has been attending going on 2 years and absolutely looks forward to his lessons. The venue is clean, well organised and the friendly instructors engage with your child which is essential to help encourage their development. As a result, my 3 nephews also attend now. Highly recommend

Col jones tempe is great. My two girl started off here awhile ago then had a long break due to personal issues. We then had them try another swim school due to travel which my girl absolutely hated. They would cry the whole lesson. Fair to say we only lasted 2 lessons at that other swim school as there was no compassion from staff and it was too traumatic for my girls. We are now back at Tempe as they begged to come back and the staff are lovely. They are gentle and meet my girls needs and theres no more crying just 2 very excited little girls waiting for each week to come around for their lesson. Thank you for the great service and care you all give

I took my kids to several swim schools before we found Col Jones Tempe and I can tell you from experience they are the best swim school around.
My kids have progressed form the toddler pool to squads, it s been an amazing journey.

The structured lessons work well for my kids. My kids definitely respond better and progress faster with clear guidance on what they need to be doing at each stage.

We have spend years and plenty of $$$ at other swimming lessons, and in an very short time at col jones both my children have excelled. Great rewarding program!

Last month we started sending our son twice a week for swimming lessons at Col Jones. While swimming teachers are lovely, the admin team desperately needs to improve. We paid by monthly direct debit and clearly booked 2 slots/week for our son on a specific date and time. They messed us up a few times already. We came today and they said no your booking was on a different day and time. Not even a sorry, its our fault, we will sort it out etc. They don't allow any class changes in case families have other engagement so you lose money even if you are non-casual, but they can change our slots as they wish without telling us.
We insist they have to give us printing confirmation this time to avoid any problems in the future. If they still mess up we will take our kid else where.
