My son had a blast with his friends!! Great place. Only reason for 4 stars are the prices for food and skiing. He/we would go more often but cannot afford, especially for our whole family to go. But still a great experience for him!

Everything heres pretty well set up, however, my group ran into issues of people stopping and blocking off trails, and runs. Other than that, great place, definitely coming back.

Coffee Mill is the greatest little ski hill in the midwest. It is like stepping back in time. The chalet is not fancy but the food is home cooking good! There is some of the best skiable terrain in the midwest awaiting anyone who ventures to Coffee Mill.

Great local ski spot. However, if your a snowboarder be ware. Ski patrol threatened to kick us of for riding off the trails . We were well within the marked slopes just trying to hit some fresh powder. Wish they were nicer because I d love to go back and invite friends, but probably won t now

We skied at Coffee Mill for the first time on Sunday February 26, 2017. What a hidden gem we discovered! Each run had its own feel and distinction. There were a lot of sneaky and challenging terrain features here. $18 after 3 PM on Sunday's - an incredible deal! We really enjoyed our experience and will definitely come back in the future. A couple of things to improve - seems like more marketing can be done to build brand awareness in the Twin Cities Market. Also, I consider myself to be close to an expert skier. Tried O'Chute, which was full of ice and very hard with little opportunity to make turns in its state. Would advise grooming this run a bit more or closing it when the conditions are more dangerous. Great experience overall and look forward to coming back next winter.

Coffee mail was nice! There were a handful of black diamond trails not open but both lifts were running and they have decent concessions for a small hill. Took away a star because they only had one person processing lift tickets, it took us about an hour to actually get through the line, get rentals, and get on the hill. They open at noon and we arrived at 12:15 so I would recommend getting there before noon if you want to make sure you get in before they hit capacity.

Had a great time with my wife, her family, and 5 nieces and nephews aged 3-7! Really can't say enough about how great the resort layout is for family skiing with the littles. The lift with a Midway drop off point was a nice touch to keep the family together all day long. Bigger runs were steep enough to be interesting for the adults and because everything leads back to the lodge you're never far from family. We're from Colorado and I can't think of a setup at a mega resort back home that would be this conducive to a family outing. Kudos as well to the staff at Coffee Mill for the condition of their snow. I was expecting ice everywhere, and was pleasantly surprised to find groomed corduroy and skiable snow despite recent warmer temps and refreeze. The rental skis are definitely older and well ridden, but had well maintained edges and a fresh wax. One of the moms in our group also had a private lesson from an excellent instructor. Same lesson you'd pay well over $200 an hour for in Colorado for only $25.. Yes, at the end of the day terrain is the Midwest, not the Rockies, but for the beyond reasonable amount we paid, we got far more than expected from Coffee Mill and will come again on a future trip back to MN!

We drove 1 hour (2 hours round trip) yesterday to take our grandson to coffee mill for downhill skiing. Their voicemail message said they opened at noon- we arrive at 11:45. There were no more than 30-40 people in front of us to buy tickets. We stood in the same line until 1:00 so 1 hour 15 minutes and the ticket line had not MOVED. Terrible service or broken business model. We left because there was no indication whatsoever of when we could buy tickets.

Loved the enchanting bluff setting, warm chalet & staff and diversity of terrain at Coffee Mill! Such a great, easy day trip from the Twin Cities. For all of the above, amazed the word isn't "out" about all that Coffee Mill has to offer guests...it's a lot!

I drive all the way down from Red Wing because the website says they open at 3 PM on Thursday. Nope, closed till Saturday and I have two gift certificates that need to be used. Update your website! Have a phone with current information! Very unimpressed.

Tubing experience was a lot of fun, affordable for an entire family to have a great day outdoors, my only con is that I wish the tubing hill were a bit longer, however this did not in any way impede our fun. I found the indoor facility to be large, open and easy to access from all areas. One recommendation to the owner(s) would be to update a photo to your website showing the interior at an angle in which it would maximize the size , current photo is nice, but does not show how much room you actually have. Thank You and we will return next year.

Great family place. They Groom in the morning which means the snow is really soft. It hasn't set up overnight like the hills that groove in the night Before. It is small . It has only 2 lifts but play originate close to the chalet. That beings it's great for families because they're always winding up at the same place after a run. They also have a chair lift that stops part way up the Hill. This chair is extremely popular for parents skiing with their young kids. They get to ride a chair lift and then skied on a very nice but short beginners run. Except on the one race day of the year the lift lines are really quite short. Senior lift tickets are only $15. So runs park pretty much street fall line runs. Nothing with a multiple fall line to deal with. And because of E older Lifts The green and blue runs are not really crowded and this makes of very comfortable for beginners and families. As you can likely pick up this is One of those secret spots. It's Worth checking out if you've never been there.

Enjoyable place, wish people woupdnt snowplow the o-chute hill as its the syeepest south of Duluth. It really destroys the hill when people plow the whole way down and dont carve good. Very relaxed place, never usually too busy which is nice, and they dont close early based on attendance. Rocket prices are well worth it and cheap for what you get. The terrain park is OK, ALOT better than Afton terrain park. But not as good as welch terrain park. Buck hill is terrain central. Coffee mill is a good place to go. Wish the runs where longer. You spend more time on the chair lift than the hills themselves, pretty much what you get withour any mountains around you. Food prices are a little high, staff is friendly. i really like the "bowl" setup where no matter the hill you take youll come to the chalet.

I really like this place. Its only got two old lifts, but I can't remember the last time I paid 19 dollars for a lift ticket! Staff is fine too, never had a bad interaction. The lodge is unique and a good place to relax.

I little slice of winter heaven. Loved the music from the chalet playing like a soundtrack from a 70's ski movie. The height and length of the runs were better than the resorts surrounding the Twin Cities, but a cozy feel with 10 runs that were fun to try again and again, never felt like the same run twice with some challenging features, fun turns, nice jumps. Such a gem! Perfect for families. The chalet food was so good-homecooked and priced well. Night ski was a great deal at 23 dollars and only an hour and 40 minutes from Minneapolis. My new favorite ski resort close to home!

This is the first time I've ever gone skiing/snowb...

This is the first time I've ever gone skiing/snowboarding. My husband has gone skiing many times, but not in a long while. We went here because it's not too far away, and he'd been here many times before- albeit close to a decade ago. Only issue we had getting there is that google maps tries to direct you down a road that's closed. Once we got there everything went well, we got our passes, and were all set to try. Our only issue was that while my husband is good at skiing- he's never used a snowboard, which is what I was trying (based on leg length, center of gravity, etc. snowboarding was recommended for me.) After a few short slides and falling down, a worker there came out to check the tow rope that pulls you up the little hill. He saw we were having issues, and came iver and showed me how to use the rope, and gave me some tips for getting down the hill. They do offer lessons that you can pay for- but we didn't pay for lessons (because I stubbornly wanted to figure it out myself) and still had somebody come and help us. This might not happen all the time, there weren't many people out that day and there wasn't a lot going on, but it's definitely above and beyond what we expected. Mainly because we just paid to use the hills/lifts, and we got a free lesson. Overall I'd say it's a good place to start, and while I'm still not great at snowboarding- I'd definitely go here and try it again.
