If you can avoid service with these people please do please I beg of you this company I don't know where they get their membership fee nobody wants to be a member really nobody. This electric company is the biggest self righteous, very rude people that work for this company. The customer service is so lacking. They will not help you in any shape way or form and then they will tell you one thing and turn around and someone else will tell you another thing. and if they ask if there's anything they can do to help the answer is no because they don't do anything to help unless it's about your money.

Just like any other monopoly they don't really care about anything but the bottom line. I find that they fail to send notice when a bill is late 2 weeks and they will cut your power without even a phone call. Then they charge you a reconnect fee for pushing a button in their office...BS. I can't wait to go solar.

I have always taken my service dog in . last month i was told to take the dog out she was not allowed in the building. Since when does Coastal discriminate against service dogs? I think its ashame that a company that haa aigns saying service dogs are allowwd makes you leave because you have a service dog

Fantastic service. Lost power on Martin Road after a storm. Within an hour they had it up and running. Great job from the customer service personnel to the lineman. You all be safe out there. We are grateful for your service that you all provide!!!

They are a terrible service. I have spent the past four months in perpetual hell with the midway office and I have been lied to on multiple accounts. I took ownership over my grandparents estate and tried to switch the electric over.(Mind you I was harassed for months on end immediately after my grandmothers death by there accounting department to switch it to my name even though the bill was being paid)When I finally did they charged me $375 dollars for a deposit due to my credit, which I had no problem with. There are multiple meters on the property so I asked to be sure that everything was going to be switched over in the midway off, to which I was assured it was. I come home from work a week later to my power is cut off with my animals inside all day and it s 90 degrees outside. When I call Coastal Electric to find out what is going on and I m told that I had to pay an additional $375 dollars for the other meter. At this point I m extremely distraught so they turn on the electricity on the condition when and if I disconnect I will have to pay $375. Now my grandmother receives a check in the mail from them and when I call to find out why it wasn t issued to me like it was supposed to be I m told they have lost my credit information to revive that benefit and that there is nothing I can do. So needless to say if this company is anything like the midway office for love of god stay away from them do not live in a area where you have to get service from them. When you have lost a loved one and they continually do this to you while your grieving and trying to get things sorted than why should they be allowed to continue.

As a member now for 25+ years with several accounts and have used many of the programs offered by Coastal EMC, I have found that in just the last few years Customer Service "Service" is NOT what it use to be.
Upon having an old account reactivated & another new account set-up, I failed to request something anything in writing to show how a program may have changed in the period of the NO service period that I may of had.
Hopefully for those wishing to use "programs" set-up by or "partnered" with others, YOU the CONSUMER should BEWARE. First get it in writing, read the fine print and ask questions then get answers in writing too. In the past few months I've been floored over changes to programs WITHOUT NOTICE, something is wrong when you receive NOTHING after opening or re-opening an account.
Consumer BEWARE, for the last 4 years on my credit report I still have a "derogatory reported payment history"(late payment) by one of Coastal EMC's "partnered" participants, having the correct proof (documentation) & letters hasn't made it go away.

I've never in my life had to pay a deposit for electric, cable, water, you name the service.... NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER. Since I refused they put me on a prepaid account. Prepaid electric? That is the worst thing an organization could do is make your electric prepaid. I can't stand this organization. I'm moving out of their area soon and it will become one of the happiest days in my life. RUDE and disregard of human life.

Coastal EMC cut my power off after restoring it due to a down line from the storm (Hurricane Matthew), so everyone in my grid has power but me, the line that is down is not even to my house. It is to an old house that no one stays in, so why not just cut the power to that line and leave mine on. And because the outage is just effecting one person, my service ticket is at the bottom the the list which mean that everyone else is more important than me. Thanks a lot Coastal EMC for letting me know where I stand with your company as a paying customer of 13 years.

Just bought our house a year and a half ago, HAD to call the electric company AGAIN, within a 3 month span! THIRD new meter on the garage because the office personnel are failure's at doing their job! They tried to say we were stealing electric because of the offices failure to put in the new meter number each time, so they shut it off and the linemen bring another one! And to top it off they are charging us a years worth of electricity on top of the regular bill because they are gougers! Im so tired of them! We have by far over paid them! Thank you to the linemen for doing your job right and fixing it asap, yall need a raise!

This company will not work with you during COVID-19 no matter your situation. We re as other electric companies try to work with you. Beware before you buy or rent a home in there service area. I don t recommend them at all.(they left a response to my review. Never did they try to work with me or even suggest any form of arrangement.

Had them since 2008. Never been late on a payment. Last few months been struggling some and fell behind. They cut our own even though we called and said we'd take another payment on the first. I'm a disabled veteran so that's when I get my check. They also did this after we mentioned having a newborn baby in they house. They only care about the money.

Our Company has several properties with Coastal Electric as the provider. I deal with the front desk ladies Maria & Kellise on a regular basis. I have always found both ladies to be very professional and helpful. I have also had an issue in the past with new service to new construction and Patricia the office manager quickly stepped in and got the issue resolved immediately. Thank you ladies for making my job easier.

We at the Propes household would like to thank the entire staff of EMC. We were hit hard in Sunbury, G.A. on April 14, 2020 by Tornadoes. Your crew worked diligently around the clock for 18 plus hours, to ensure everyone's power was restored. Until we go without power or water for a period of time, we as a society of whole tends to take things for granted. People are quick to call questioning when and why their power hasn't been restored yet. I would like to say there is always going to be someone who's power is turned on first. And, who's power is turned on last. Then there's everyone in between. Thank you for all you continue to do for us.

I have had Coastal power for about 13 years. There are power grid is fairly stable and I have no qualms with the quality of work of the lineman. Their customer service and billing could use some work. Their due dates range from before the end of the month do the first of the month with little or no grace period and a hefty late fee. They average about the same as other power companies in our area per kilowatt hour but offer less services for the charge or if the services are available they are not as well known as with other companies. If given the opportunity I would not use coastal as my provider but in the area that I live I have no choice mainly due to the billing and customer service in the billing department.

Thank you for your hard work in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. The Lake George community was hit hard and had lots of down trees, broken power poles, and tangled power lines. Once crews were able to get into the area, they worked strategically and diligently to restore power. Thank you to Pike Electric from North Carolina for sending assistance, as well. I am grateful to all of the linemen from all of the companies for their skills, time, and determination.

Although me and my husband love the customer service that is provided, we have been attempting to contact someone inside the office to transfer our account over from our old house to the new one and NOBODY has answered the phone!! We know sometimes business gets busy, but it has been almost a week since we have tried to get our account switched to the new address and we have not been able to reach ANYONE!

I have never had a problem with Coastal Electric. They have always been kind and if there was a problem, they always helped me in a courteous way. Kylie has been especially helpful and kind. I am so happy that we have Coastal Electric. Thanks.

Very true about the power going out constantly. Its sad that on their machine when you call they even ask if your powers out because they know its going to be out constantly. If you pay to put money in your account through the Echeck system, dont expect them to run it for a couple days (7 days sometimes). Which in that amount of time you might forget about it, and then they charge you $30 for it coming back. Why wait that long? I got charged that twice because of it taking orever and one of those times was because I thought they weren't going to take the money so I cancelled it an when I called the company they said I would have to pay the $30 because they just tryed to run it through the bank. Really?? People are always rude as all can be when you call and dont care to talk to anybody. Rude business, RUDE PEOPLE, o and the power goes out constantly. Id say 1-2 times a week

Spoke with gentleman over phone still couldn't help then didn't even havechave service said thank you he says ok back really? Spoke with my bank said I had cancelled a payment with that card some months ago is it still declining? But they will be quick to turn off your power!

I have nothing good to say about your company. My wife and I are on the pay as you go plan because we had no other choice and we pay copious amounts even though we carefully watch what we have on. If you go even 30 damn cents under they disconnect your power and send you a text message after it has already been turned off. Coastal electric, you are money hungry and don't give a f*** about your customers. I do not recommend moving into a place where you have to deal with these gold diggers. Would give zero stars if I could.

Then when going to make a a payment their system is down and they can t reconnect service. And I get told it is what it is. This is absolute madness

My home is empty til about 3pm everyday and even once me and my sons return home its hardly anything on. I paid over 300 dollars in one month. I hate y'all service with a passion

They don't give a damn about their customers. The storm has knocked out our power. Ga Power doesn't mind spending the money to bring in help from other states, Alabama, Mississippi, to get power restored for their customers. Still out of power since Friday. Coastal to cheap to pay for assistance and don't care how long we have to suffer. All Ga Power customers in our area, literally one street over, have had power for 2 days.
