CMSA Is A Very Nice School , The Teachers ( very little teachers ) Are People You Can Trust . But This School Year ( 2015-2016 ) Has Been Disastrous. This School Has Problems . A Lot Of Teachers Are Leaving . We Don't Have Anybody We Can Trust . If They Wanna Make It Better I'm Hoping They Make Some Major Changes In The Next School Year .

Also A Handful Of Students ( At Least 13 , And That's Just On The Middle School Side ) FAIL THE GRADE.

It is horrible, the work is too easy we need more education

This school is garbage and the food here is worse than prison food half of the time we dont even know what is given to us and prisons probably have way better food than us. If I could I would give this school 0 stars a lot of the teachers dont even care about the students and most money that has been given to us has gone to the robotics team and we never have money for new laptops or for anything else. 0/10 stars from me

Cmsa is a great school for young ones and it gets your children to great collages as well

My child stayed here for 1 year and 2 months. The staff lies/misinforms to parents. The new dean of the middle school has control issues and makes the students miserable. He's been known to sell children pop and candy (who does that) for fundraisers, and if he does not like what a student does, he throws items that they have PAID for in the TRASH!

He also picks targets and is very uncouth unbalanced in his approach to enforcing the dress code. If your child has anxiety issues, he will tell them that they are doing it to themselves. If your child has depression, anxiety, or is an introvert, this is not a good environment for them.

The principal is a pushover for all the wrong people, and parents having a voice is non-existent. I tried to help at this school, but if you question anything (like them being raided by the FBI and not sending a letter home to parents before it made the news), you are treated like you are making unreasonable requests and irate.

It is a shame because students really get a quality education here. The teachers and counselors even make HOME visits to help students at risk. Students (and parents) travel out of the country with the school, and the counseling staff does an EXCELLENT job of making sure the kids get scholarships. Their college acceptance rate is phenomenal.

I think the instructors and support staff turn ordinary, at-risk students into scholars. It really says something because their administration exhibits poor leadership on a consistent basis.

I am a Chicago Police youth liaison, I have many student that attend CMSA involved in my after school sports programs as well as community service programs. The students of CMSA are a great representation of the dedicated and knowledgeable staff of CMSA.

One of my friends works at CMSA! It is one of the best non-selective high school in Chicago!

This school is the greatest. No more needs to be said about this amazing school and the experiences it will give you.

Excellent School Concept, Nice Neighborhood, Great Teachers and Staffs.
Above all Very Good and Excellent Products.

If I could I would destroy this horrible place, just bad school

So why write a review.

Well I have been working consistently with students since 1993 from h.s. to college.

This place offers gifted students from underserved populations a chance at a great education......and having worked with IMSA grads I would put many CMSA students up against them.

I have worked with 8 students from CMSA. Each one has been smart.....Northwestern, Cornell, Cal Tech, Uchicago quality and humble.

I dunno if they teach values or search for it but I can tell you as someone who has worked students thru CSU, nursing, psych programs, Univ of Chicago, Northwestern ......the only students that have ever sent me a thank you card or tried to dig in their wallet to take me to lunch have been from CMSA.

No kidding.

I wrote this review because this morning in my mailbox a young student left me a card.....it said I am here because of u. Maybe 16... surprising stalwart young professionalism.

I say this as someone who worked with nursing students from csu through TEAS and NCLEX worked with UChicago students to graduation......and while no thanks was expected..... I see CMSA kids on my fridge.

The school offers excellent academics. The classes are tough. It isnt a CPS oh u cant read but here your diploma.

It is hard. The kids here should be respected for their brains and the fact that many do not come from priviledge. They bust their butts to be here and graduate.

It is an excellent resource for ROGERS PARK. It sure beats the indoor swapmeet mall it replaced.

And to be honest having a 17 yr old girl get accepted to Cal Tech who after her freshman year in California take time to come to my house and say thanks a year and half later.....rates as one of the top 5 experiences in my life

My Son has been here for 2 yrs he came from a CPS school. I can't say enough about the Teachers and staff at CMSA. They really care about the students, I am so pleased at my Son's growth although it hasn't been a easy year for him interms of his learning style. CMSA staff were so instrumental in my child getting an IEP and helping us to understand our child's educational needs.This by far was the best choice we could have made enrolling our child here congrats CMSA .

I am a student at CMSA and i believe that CMSA is an excellent school. This school has provided me with everything i need. This school has many academic activities and many other activities. I also like the teacher to student ratio which lets the teacher have time to give us individually. Most caring school so far.

I have been a CMSA student for almost 5 yrs, and it is a really great school, the teachers are exceptional and the materials taught are academically challenging and i think its one of the best school in Chicago. The clubs, especially the robotics team, they do not take the school money to run the club, rather we earned money for the team from many sponsors, and its like estimated 1000dollars or more from each sponsors, or any type of materials needed are donated. BEST SCHOOL EVER.

After attending this school from the beginning of middle school and up to sophomore year of high school, I came to realize this school only sees students as nothing but garbage. They are disrespectful towards student telling a simple joke to try and lighten the mood of the class. There are rat problems but we are forced to keep quiet about it. Speaking of problems, there are mutated cockroaches at the school. This school's budget is lower than the girl's standards at my school. The teachers aren't happy at all to be at this school which forces them to do side jobs because of how low their income is. This school is terrible to be frank and any other school nearby is better than this. Take this opinion from someone that cares about your future and is an active school member. I must be dumber than the people that run this school to forget this, they spend their money on their precious robotics team which is the only thing people know us for instead of investing in other things.

My son is a senior here and they are not helpful, his counselor is not helpful not sending info required to schools. The only reason I can think of is sabotage. Why because he is a Black male in America and she is trying to keep him down. This school is only great for non American students

The school is good at times they try and make you have fun ig. But this year and last year so much stuff have happened like people coming to school high and the dean Mr.Gracia said that people are bring drugs and weapons into his school. Idk if I want to finish my year their. The dean oh my gosh i recommmend you dont send your child there if they are bad because that dean omgggg. Just dont send your child there. I recommend you go to a differnt school. STAY AWAY FROM MR.GRACIA IF YOU COME!!!!! PLEASE!!!! He will make your life a living hell!! Bye Ive said enough even though I have more to say about him and some other teachers. Oh wait Mr.Ramos he sends you to Mr.Gracia office for nothing he did that to some students that were just walking to class like tf?? and he always make a big seen outta little oh things especially when Mr.Gracia talking so he have some clout. Like stop clouting shorty. And the middle school gym teacher is so dumb omfg its unbelievable I have a C in gym come one now a C I thought gym was a easy subject once. Im done....
