I traveled to Haiti from the US, and spent two nights at the Royal Decameron Indigo Beach. Overall my stay was just average. The property is beautiful and I 100% felt safe, even walking alone late at night. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful since my Creole is not the best. Food and drinks were included in your stay, so surprisingly my entire stay I did not have to pull my wallet out. They also have an outdoor night club with a DJ and bar, which was pretty fun.

The room presentation and front desk are the reason I m rating 3 stars. My room was moldy, and was in need of a good deep clean and makeover. Also, unfortunately the hot water was not working during my time there so I took cold showers. As for the front desk, it s extremely slow. It took me just an hour to check in which was really frustrating considering there were only about 4 families in front of me.

Overall, if you re looking for a resort that s right on a beautiful beach with friendly people, then this definitely is the place to be. However be mindful that the rooms are pretty outdated if you re looking for somewhere luxurious.

This trip was my children's first time to Haiti, upon arriving I got there couple hours before check in time. I had to pay $15 per person to eat at the buffet and the gentleman told me that i still have to wait till 3 to go in my room. The housekeeping staff beyond unprofessional this staff started arguing with me over towels, Yes towels I reported her to the supervisor Yvrose nothing happened. Needless to say I am beyond discusted and it's a shame that I had to experience that I had a horrible experience there

Reception very slow.

Reception very slow.
Exorbitant price, cleaning in late rooms.
Other than that, the rooms, the service, the bars, the food and the majority of the staff are nice and great.

All inclusive resort, food is excellent, staff is polite at the reception. They also offer massage and they have a show at night with dancers in costumes. The ground is well maintained, the gym is correct. There are two to three large pools,a convenient store and artists who sell their products (paintings, bracelets ...) by the pool. the beach side is so beautiful specially at night. Decameron is one of the best vacation spot for anyone who come in Haiti.

Great place, excellent customer service, the pools and the night time activities are awesome. But unfortunately the food is not that great it's like the same menu every day and not typically Haitian. I understand that the hotel is visited by a lot of other nations but most of the visitors are Haitian from the diaspora, that is why I would recommend the kitchen manager to focus on changing the menu . Most people I spoke to say they may not come back because of the poor quality of the food.
Also I had a bad experience with a Lukea employee that doesn't show good customer service, she treated me like nothing, she literarily refused to give a towel at the pool.
Overall, due my experience I might come back if they change the menu and remind the lukea employees to respect the customers and not trying to play favoritism to the people from France.

Super restoration is varied and diverse I regret, however, eat frozen food and service at will of the afternoon (pizza hambergers of bad quantity and fried) while there are plenty of local products to value. I love the beautiful white sand beach of several kilometers and the 3 pools but I deplore the room worthy of a room first taken
Ski and horseback riding services at a very exorbitant price of more than 70 dollars per half hour added to the high price of the room

Good facilities, bad staff, specially housekeeping and security staff. All bank machine didn't work , someone opened my door and got into my room without permission, without knocking the door, While me and my wife sleeping and that cause we woke up. The reservation for the restaurant didn't organize well. Housekeepers talk too much around the room. We couldn't sleep in the morning. The manager should talk to them.

The staff of the bars and restaurants is not smiling it does not seem to bother them to be served in the restaurant in the morning for hot drinks as well as lunch and dinner if we give not a minimum dollar every time we is not served while it is an all inclusive. We do not really feel welcome to the French it is not the same for Canadians who are many since 4:30 flight.

I wish I could give zero stars. The worst experience I have ever had at any hotel ever. They made everyone wait in line for check-in for at least two hours. When I finally got to the front my reservation was messed up. They are extremely rude and not helpful. I've never had such a bad experience. They need to get rid of their location in Haiti because it really makes their name look bad. I will never let anyone I know go there. Everyone had an issue. Whether their reservations were lost, whether they didn't put the right amount of people, whether they didn't book the correct dates, the correct information etc. I hope corporate sees this. I will be spreading the word.

I enjoyed my stay at Decameron. I like the fact that it was all inclusive foreal. I been to other places that says all inclusive but wasn't all inclusive. Vanessa Joseph at the front desk was very nice and professional. We didn't like the shower head and Vanessa made show it was changed right away. She was very helpful, she had an answer for every questions we had. I noticed from a far that she was nice and professional to everyone she dealt with. People like Vanessa will always make guests want to come back to Decameron. Overall I like the entertainments, the performers were amazing. I enjoyed the disco at 11 pm. We had an amazing time. We will be back next year.

This was the WORST place I have ever stayed in my life! If I could give this place no stars, I would! The staff is rude and the rooms are horrible. The paint on the ceiling was chipping and it looks like someone was rubbing their snotty nose on the walls. The water was never hot in the shower.
I don't understand why they give you a pool towel ticket and they don't have towels to give. What sense does the make? Or why when you ask for towels for your room, they take forever to bring them?
So let's talk about the buffet.... one word, GROSS. Yes they hype you up with an all inclusive deal, but it's a bland and not worth the money. The waitstaff is VERY rude. To be honest, they all look unhappy and it really looks like you're eating on a plantation.
Ahhh, the cultural shows... it glorifies ever culture, but Haiti. The shows are whitewashed and does not show how wonderful Haitian culture is. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE! THERE IS NOTHING ROYAL ABOUT IT!

Whether you enjoy Decameron has a lot to do with p...

Whether you enjoy Decameron has a lot to do with personal preference on vacation. I found the food to be above average for an all-inclusive resort. (Compared to others I've been to in Mexico and DR) The restaurant food is especially excellent. I think the bartenders only have 3 kinds of alcohol to work with, so if you like rum punch, you'll be happy. There's complimentary snorkel equipment that's in good shape and there are lots of fish to see. The beach is not crowded, but you have to get up early to get a chair. The rooms are TINY but clean and they all face the ocean.
The reason why I rated this resort a 3 star is because we went for peace and quiet and over the week we were there we just could not get away from the noise. They start the activities and loud music at 9am and it goes all day. Even if there is no one who wants to do the activities and everyone is telling them to turn it off, they won't because its their schedule. (Oh, and the song they play over and over again has an F bomb in the chorus) Sometimes there's quiet at one pool, but you have to know the exact right place to be at the right time to catch a rest. It took a week to figure out, and then we left. It is impossible to relax on the beach because the pool music is so loud it covers the entire resort. But some people like that kind of thing, so they won't mind. Personally, I was wanting to relax by the ocean and read a book, but no go.

This is an all inclusive resort. What is the most ...

This is an all inclusive resort. What is the most impressive about it is that out of 400 rooms, 370 are ocean view with balconies. This resort is surrounded by a 55 hectare natural preserve. The Haitian Riviera has miles of clean unused white sand beach and turquoise water. A real unique gem, like no other resort in the Caribbean. The resort has 5 creole buffet restaurants and bars. Creole food is considered one of the most delicious food in the world. There is also a nightclub, several pools, volleyball, basketball, tennis, golf, soccer, archery, gym, spa, massage services, water sports, excursions, wifi, etc... Most of the staff speaks Creole, French, English and Spanish.

Very nice place. It just far from Port-au-Prince, the capital, but it's worthit. I like the fact that people are very nice from the checking point, security and the restaurant. I spent a week there with my family so we can't wait to go back.
Need to know :
1.- You may check in before 3 pm, you may not get the room yet but you will get access to everything else in the place, including the restaurant.
2.- The check out is at 12h pm but they allow you to stay in the property after check out until 2h Pm just in case you wanna eat or do something else before you leave.
3.- If you are check out early, you may not get people to help you carry your luggage out.
4.- People can visit and only meet with you at the lobby of the resort and no further way, including not in your room.
5.- If you get towel from the kiost by the pool, make sure that you don't loose it, don't leave it in the room, give it back when you check out, otherwise you will get charge $20 fine per towel
Beside of these rules, it's a great place for vacation.
Enjoy

This is a honest review. I ve been here for 3 nigh...

This is a honest review. I ve been here for 3 nights so far. The staff is unpleasant, the women particularly just look don t smile. The staff act like they are not happy to be at work and make every effort to making your stay uncomfortable. I m here for my sisters wedding and more than 50 of us traveled here from the US.

The resort is beautiful, upon arrival the staff was moody and uninviting. The resort is positioned on a beach with a pool close by the dining area and lobby. The bar staff are very friendly, I won t deny that. Literally everyone else ignores you even when passing by them in the hallways. My first room was very hot, the ac was broken and the phone was also broken. I was forced to walk back and forth to the office which was over about a 3 city blocks away. They finally moved my room.

I was completely balling crying in frustration after the second room I was given was also very hot. The guy MOVED me to a room even further away from the main area which was two additional room away. THE PROPERTY IS EMPTY, I ve walked past several hundred open rooms, it s also off season it s the end of September. I know the property is empty because they leave the patio windows open. Honestly I don t think they like Americans here.

The pool and beach is next to the dining area. I was told I couldn t wear my bikini top inside but the manager agreed that the staff is making up more rules as they go. I was also told I could eat at the bar area which makes no sense because the bar has glass for beverages.

The POOL CLOSES at 7pm.......the pool at my apartment stays open until 8pm in South Florida. I work for an airline and travel all over the world, Ive never of a resort pool closing at 7pm. You have to pay for WiFi, which is cool I guess but it s $20/24hours.

It was INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT to get to the resort, took us 12 hours and we had to pay for police escort. During our journey we encountered armed civilians and barricaded roads getting here. It was very scary and I m a Combat Veteran from the United States Army. I will never come to Haiti again unfortunately. It s not worth the hassle and frustration and the place doesn t make it any better. I m 3 more nights here and I m ready to go home. That s sad.
