This is an animal hospital, not an aquarium. If you have small children this is not the aquarium you are looking for. This is the smallest aquarium I've ever been to, which is unnacceltable given the poor quality of the exhibits. The tank glass on the three or four underwater viewing areas are scratched so bad you can barely see the fish. I would recommended this facility for middle school age children that are interested in marine biology and rehabilitation, which is the focus of this facility. Viewing areas for shows are so small my kids couldn't fight to the front to see anytuing. If you still want to go, use a coupon or come after 4 when admission is $10.

Had a wonderful visit at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium today. It was entertaining and informative. A lot bigger than I expected and it looks like they are expanding. A great organization obviously dedicated to marine wildlife rescue and conservation. So glad we got to see it!

I gave 4 instead of five stars based on the price. For the cost, I thought there would be more to look at. I do understand not having the show's due to the Corona virus, and I understand that the facility is for rehabilitation of animals, but I still find the cost to be more than it was worth. With that said, I enjoyed seeing what was there.

very nice place to visit ,helpful staff and the boat ride where they go out in the bay and tell kids about the things they caught in the net and take them out to shell island is a must and you can really learn alot ,even for the grown ups. and of course winter and hope .it was a great time and would recommend to anyone with kids who loved the movies.

A fun place to spend the afternoon. Programming happens every half hour throughout the day, with repeats in case you miss something. Be prepared that most shows run only 10-15 minutes. Our family enjoyed it, but you should not expect the production value of a larger aquarium.

This place is just a tourist attraction now, it's not about rescue rehabilitation and research. This place would be shut down if it wasn't for winter, they are no better than sea world or any other dolphin prison! Now they have 3 Dolphins held captI've and it's funny how they tell you the same story for each of them, the male dolphin Nicholas wasn't able to be released because he can't hunt or protect his self but that's also was they said about Hope! This place is a true rip off and a joke!! They don't care about the animals anymore it's all about the money!! I bet they will start breeding Hope and Nicholas now to make even more money off of us! The only true rescues rehab and research place is mote marine aquarium! They magically were able to rehabilitate and release ALL of their Dolphins!! Except of course the ones that had bad infections but they still never used any sorry excuses or should I say the same sorry excuse to keep a dolphin locked in a pool!!! ZERO STARS!!!

Great experience for our family, learned so much about dolphins and other marine life, we loved the concept for housing animals and the staff is admirable, glad to see the place is expanding, everyone should visit, we spent like 5 hours there. Nicolas the dolphin soaked our party, it was super funny!

Great rescue and rehab facility on its way to becoming a great aquarium. Special treats await if you have seen the Dolphin Tails movies - which were inspired by local resident Winter, and filmed in part at the aquarium. Dolphins, sea turtles and river otters are the primary focal points. A huge addition will soon be open that will more than double the size.

This is a marine rescue facility, not an aquarium. If you're interested in marine rescue then the star rating is higher. The boat trip was more interesting to us. We were apparently lucky to have seen a manatee in addition to the many dolphins. We would do the boat tour again.

I would give this a 4 if it was priced a little more reasonably. It s quite small for the amount that s charged, however I will say I had an enjoyable time. If you download the app it tells you information about all the animals there.. what happened to them and why they can t be released into the wild. It makes me feel better that they re not there for entertainment, but because they wouldn t be able to survive in the wild. The app also has the presentation times so you can plan your visit around that. We fed the stingrays which was $8 per person. It was ok. It was a nice experience, but not sure it was worth $16 for the two of us. You can pet the sting rays already without paying. The otter presentation was adorable! And it was cool to see dolphins so close. I would recommend to others if you go into it realizing that it s a rehab center, not just an aquarium

I recall coming here in the 80's and it seems like it is the same size as then, but they are working on an expansion now. The attraction here isn't a large variety of animals or exhibits, but the talks led by the staff which they have scheduled all day to keep you interested. Super knowledge staff, even the intern we spoke with in the care and recovery area knew quite a bit about the facility, animals that were there recently, and the conditions they may have had and treatment.

Ok

very small exhibits, currently under construction. Very short dolphin show. Not much to see at all. 1 small turtle exhibit. 1 very small shark exhibit. Not worth the admission. The aquarium at Myrtle Beach is much better value, but if you want to see an amazing aquarium, go to Atlanta.

Love this aquarium. Not too big, not too small. The staff were amazing!! Very knowledgeable and you can tell they really enjoy what they do. It was an easy half day adventure. If your familiar with the movie Dolphin Tail- Winter, Hope are here including a few others you will recognize. The habits are of great size and the animals were actively playing. Highly recommend

The aquarium is small and it's quite pricy. I probably wouldn't have gone if I didn't have a bogo coupon. The dolphins and sting rays are a great attraction, especially Nicolas the dolphin. You pass by a few novelty shops before even getting into the aquarium. It's a fun place to go, but I paid almost $30 for a single admission, including $6 parking.

It was very fun and imformative , didn't like how hard it was to hear the presenters, and everyone was so kind until we got to the photo booth to pick up our pictures and she was very impatient and I didn't understand my options because she spook to quickly quietly and with gum in her mouth .
All in all we enjoyed it and will return !

A wonderful asset to the Clearwater community! The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is home to a very friendly and knowledgable staff committed to providing care and treatment to injured and neglected marine life in need of rehabilitation. They provide the much needed treatment to animals in distress while also educating the community and it's visitors on the proper care and treatment of marine life.

I'm not entirely certain where all the negative feedback is coming from (especially directed towards such a positive organization), but a new aquarium is scheduled to be built in downtown Clearwater in the very near future. The new facility downtown will provide the much needed space and modern upgrades that the current one is lacking. The downtown Clearwater area can definitely use more tourist friendly attractions.

This place is awesome is well setup so for little kids is not a lot of walking for them to enjoy the dolphin experience the scuba tank is really cool with the turtles swimming around the divers and them asking the trivia underwater

Worst aquarium I've ever been.

Worst aquarium I've ever been.
Not enough sea life, small tanks and the tanks glass is dirty, giving a clouded view of the minimal animals presents.
Too expensive for what it has to offer.

I loved meeting all the animals here. Me and my wife came, did a tour and the Safari Boat Ride. Every penny worth the experience considering the place is non-profit. I recommend it for anyone who is in Florida.

Great place to learn and see numerous rescued sea life. Winter and hope are amazing but there is so much more to see and do. Go check out nicholas the longest tenured rescue dolphin living there. Also all proceeds from any sales in concessions or the gift shop go directly back to the museum.

There are like 7 tanks total. All very small. I felt sorry for these animals because of the grungy conditions in which they lived. It is not stroller friendly at all and you are better off spending the extra money to go to seaworld. It feels like the animals are happier there.

2 stars only because of their rescue mission.

Awful just awful winter was just in the corner with no signs or anything special at all. EXTREMELY underwhelming they spent more money on advertising their aquarium then they did on the aquarium. Took literally 8 minutes to see everything they had and get bored.

What made this place great is the interactive and educational presentations with the dolphins. Some smaller aquariums showing the rehabilitation of other sea animals was very educational for my children as well.

I love visiting Clearwater Marine Aquarium. The work they do is so important. It is nice to see our sea creatures being nurtured back to health and studied to preserve all our coastal wildlife.
