Absolutely terrible !!! This place is pulling on your heartstrings calling itself a non-profit marine rescue.
What a joke...The Marine aquarium is really just a bunch of holding tanks the size of motel swimming pools with a couple of sea turtles, otters, and dolphins, swimming around in them. After spending 30 or 40 minutes walking around and fighting the crowd (the tickets are way "oversold", unless you like to just describe things to your child...) we decided to try to salvage the day by at least taking the boat tour across the bay for the Dolphin Tale exhibit. BIG MISTAKE !!! They basically transport your party across the bay (one way ticket) to a Building that is nothing more than a big gift shop with a few tired movie props. Then comes the big surprise...You are stuck here waiting for two hours to get back to your car at the aquarium...Why ??? because they do not have adequate transportation for the numbers of people they are selling tickets to. Our family spent more time waiting for the trolley (supposedly faster) to get back than we spent at the aquarium and Dolphin Tale Rip Off Gift Shop. Send them a donation if you must, but be advised...At $ 21.00 a pop I'm sure they make at least 50 to 100 thousand dollars a day, AND they aren't spending it on the animals. 2 words describe this place TOURIST TRAP. This place is about fleecing your wallet with stuffed dolphins. Go to the Florida (Tampa) Aquarium instead...Better in EVERY way !!!

About Clearwater Marine Aquarium

Clearwater Marine Aquarium: Florida's Premier Marine Life Rescue Center

Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a non-profit organization located in Clearwater, Florida. The aquarium is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine animals that are sick, injured or orphaned. It was founded in 1972 as a small marine biology center and has since grown into one of the most respected marine life rescue centers in the world.

The aquarium is home to many rescued animals including dolphins, sea turtles, river otters, stingrays and more. Visitors can see these animals up close and learn about their stories of survival through interactive exhibits and educational programs.

One of the most famous residents at Clearwater Marine Aquarium is Winter the dolphin. Winter was rescued in 2005 after getting caught in a crab trap line which resulted in her losing her tail. She was brought to Clearwater Marine Aquarium where she received life-saving medical care and eventually learned how to swim with a prosthetic tail.

Winter's story gained international attention after it was featured in the hit movie "Dolphin Tale" which tells her inspiring journey from injury to recovery. The movie also helped raise awareness about Clearwater Marine Aquarium's mission to protect marine life.

Visitors can see Winter up close at the aquarium's Dolphin Terrace exhibit where they can watch her swim with other dolphins or interact with trainers during daily presentations.

In addition to its animal rescue efforts, Clearwater Marine Aquarium also conducts research on various aspects of marine biology such as animal behavior, habitat conservation and pollution prevention. Its team of scientists work closely with other organizations around the world to share knowledge and develop new strategies for protecting our oceans.

The aquarium also offers various educational programs for visitors of all ages including guided tours, summer camps for kids and workshops for teachers. These programs aim to inspire people about ocean conservation by providing hands-on experiences that promote learning through fun activities.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium has won numerous awards over the years for its outstanding work on animal welfare and environmental protection including recognition from National Geographic Society as one of America's top ten aquariums worth visiting.
