My girlfriend went there for a theater performance several years ago. Now, I understand that we should have left a review then. Regardless, the hotel is situated perfectly in the city.
The view is outstanding. You are close to all the amenities. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Currently, they have been taking only essential guests. This is wonderful.
They're wheelchair accessible. There is wheelchair accessible parking nearby.
I have been travelling to Cork for work and had to self isolate at the Clayton Hotel at Lapps Quay. I'm total I spent 18 days in December and another 15 days in January. The hotel is in a great location and only minutes walk from supermarkets, restaurants and the town centre.
The rooms I stayed in were very spacious, comfortable and clean.
The staff are lovely and couldn't be more helpful. They really went above and beyond trying to accommodate us.
My only negative point is something that really is out with the control of the hotel. Unfortunately the area around the front and side of the hotel seems to be a gathering point for lots of homeless, drunk/drug abusers. I was in a room at the side of the hotel and the noise from people arguing, fighting and shouting was unbearable. I called the reception and they had a room change within a few days for me. This is not the hotels fault, but definitely something to keep in mind if travelling with family and small children.
Great location in the city centre and didn't hear any traffic/street noise. The balcony looked out over Albert Quay and the City Hall, which was lovely.
The breakfast was all plated . The service was a bit slow (it wasn't too busy). But, we had a great stay and would go back
Had an absolutely amazing stay here last night, from check in to check out. Cannot compliment the staff enough. The food was yummy, absolutely delicious. Well done Clayton, ye certainly got it 100% right. Can't wait to return soon
Have been staying in the Clarion Cork since it opened when I visit from Dublin. Excellent hotel, always spotless. Friendly staff. Central locations as we love to park up the car (in their secure carpark underneath) and walk the few moments to the main shopping district and restaurants etc. I would strongly recommend staying there. Special mention to their manager Conor who goes out of his way to make our stay special.
Very nice clean spacious room . Food was cooked fresh in the restaurant which is a welcome change from the norm although on the menu it say large dish ...I didn't realise that meant that meant the physical size of the plate as opposed to the size of the meal itself. I was left wanting.
All in all ...nice hotel
I stayed for 35 days in Clayton Hotel. The location is super and dinner is great.
Great hotel friendly staff. Excellent room lots of space with a balcony too. Really nice food. I'd like to try the restaurant but with covid all meals are delivered to your room. One thing though I thought the menu was rather expensive 17euros for a burger is a little rich for my blood but I wasn't paying so happy days. I came back to write extra on this review and upgrade it because the staff have been so helpful during my stay they couldn't do enough for me and it was a pleasure to stay here.
Lovely central hotel near bus station. Bright foyer to floors by stairs or lift at side. Good service in restaurant. Balcony on some room overlooking CITY Hall and River Lee.
