Stayed here for 2 nights. What an amazing stay in this hotel. Staff are so helpful and attentive. Hotel is clean and modern and right in the centre of everything. Rooms are spacious with everything you need. Buffet breakfast which is plentyful and something for everyone.

Recently stayed for one night on a room only basis. Hotel is a large Edwardian building situated on a main road. Good decor very clean friendly staff and good size well equipped rooms. Overall good value for money with a quiet bar and cafe rouge next door. Looking forward to my next visit.

Nice breakfast. Confusingly room has what appears to be a restaurant menu but they do not serve dinner. Found the bed a bit hard but ok for 2 nights. Right opposite the lane to the cathedral.

An extremely good hotel to stay at if staying in St Albans. It's central to everything and the staff are extremely helpful. Room was very clean and the buffet breakfast was delicious.

The biggest plus is the location. Nearby, literally 2-3-5 minutes walk excellent restaurants, pubs, the cathedral with a beautiful park. There is parking - but at some distance from the hotel. 3 different places. At the same time, you can unload and load things and passengers right at the hotel. Great service, breakfast not bad, but if you don t get the breakfast included in the price, don t be upset - in the neighborhood you will have even better breakfast

Stayed here one night for business was really comfortable room and bed nice and quiet got a really good night sleep also the reception staff were amazing spoke to 4/5 while here and all were very helpful. I am looking forward to bringing my partner here for a weekend away

A thoughtfully well-appointed hotel in a fantastic location. The room was spacious and comfortable and the staff were outstanding! Whether visiting St. Albans, or using it as a jumping-off point to London, I would highly recommend the Clarion.

Nice hotel, friendly staff. Facilities in rooms are really good, price is good. Very central and easy to get to. Car park is tiny next to the hotel but there are over flow ones nearby, all for free.

The room and staff are great. Parking and dealing with luggage is difficult if you have small children and/or elderly. There are only about 5 parking spots on site, otherwise you'll be diverted to 2 other lots; One a 3 minute walk away, the other is a 7 minute walk away.

An interesting hotel with character and with multiple layers which is not immediately apparent from the outside.
The rooms are of a good standard, all the normal things you'd expect for such a hotel and it's nice and clean. The bed was very comfy and the rooms have aircon which is nice.
Breakfast was nice with plenty of options and types of breakfast.
Only thing I would change would be a card machine in the bar, as you have to go to reception to pay.

Helpful, friendly staff who were accommodating with our parking (which they have for free) and a late night need for food. Air conditioning was being added while we were there, and during a hot day, but a fan was provided for the room which kept us cool. Shower was a little strange as it was unusually powerful and still had a plastic curtain. Good buffet breakfast with a hot option and the ability to request a few other cooked items. Would have liked a little more attention for coffee filing. Overall though, good town centre choice and friendly staff.

The hotel is basic but has everything you need and very centrally located. The real charm of this hotel is its staff. All of the ladies at the front desk were extremely kind and helpful at all times. The service provided by the staff is more like that of the Ritz than a Clarion. Thank you ladies, will be back again soon!

Lovely clean hotel. Friendlyhelpful staff. Unfortunately due to Covid 19 we were unable to have a cooked breakfast. The hotel provided us with breakfast bags; pastries, fruit, yogurt, water, juice. Also for the same reason, there was no room service, but if we needed anything, toiletries, tea, coffee, milk, we just let them know at reception, and when we returned to the hotel, kater in the day, a bag of goodies was hung on our door handle. Hotel is very central, town centre a short walk up the hill, cathedral on the opposite side of the road, through a side street. Would highly recommend staying here.

It was a typical corporate hotel,our room was dark and cold and the breakfasf was served in a paper bag which we had to collect from reception. Would not stay again

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Rooms were pretty standard but the location is great for exploring St Albans. The staff are well trained. The breakfast staff took an interest in their guests. The towels were impressive.

Very friendly staff. Rooms are clean and to a good spec. Shower was nice with good water pressure, (as long no one else in the hotel turned a tap on!).
The only real disappointment was the breakfast where the choice was a 'continental' or nothing. The usual excuse that it's due to Covid 19, but I'm certain that a half decent kitchen could produce a better breakfast than a day old croissant and one piece of fruit - in my case an apple not much bigger than a golf ball.

Clarion Collection is a hidden gem in St Albans. The hotel is really fancy inside and the room that I stayed in was clean and fresh. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful (I forgot something when I was leaving and one of the cleaners I got it back to me on her break)
The hotel is definitely in a good location in St Albans, where the restaurant and pubs/bars are in walking distance too or use the hotel mini bar. The only thing you have to consider is the parking, it's a first come first served and you may have to park 5 mins away which isn't too bad. But all in all I can't believe that I drove past this place and didn't know about it! If you're looking to stay the night at St Albans, I highly recommend checking this hotel out!

Good, value for money hotel right in the heart of St Albans. Staff are friendly and efficient, rooms are clean and comfortable (not the biggest rooms but more than adequate for short stays and comparable with other chain hotels). 5-6 minute walk to St Albans Abbey station and 15 minutes to City Station. All in all a good choice if visiting St Albans.

We love this hotel. Clean, comfy and convenient. Also very well priced, especially since they currently include a 'Breakfast in a Bag'! Right in the centre, with plenty of private parking.

How this place has got 4 stars is beyond me. Overpriced, shabby, inadequate car parking, poor bar, tired rooms, uncomfortable bed and a shower that struggled to get warm. The premier Inn is usually cheaper and far more comfortable.

Very good location for walking in St. Albans. The rooms are small and the cleaners are not the best. What you are getting is the location and the low price.

Wonderful friendly staff, cosy quaint hotel - sadly the rooms don't have the charm of the rest of the hotel, but they're clean and reasonably contemporary. Excellent breakfast!

Clean, tidy, staff could do with learning how to speak to customers, car park quite away from the hotel which made my stay inconvenient.

Nice hotel. Good night sleep, but needs some air con, or some ventilation in the room. The shower was fabulous though. Breakfast, so so. Does come with very good free wifi for 12 hours though.

Stayed here for a long weekend. Rooms have been done to a high standard. Breakfast great. Staff friendly and helpful. Minor issues held back a 5 star, including a poor standard of finish in our room in particular and a general lack of character within the accommodation part. Would come back.

Fine for an overnight stay. Hotel is clean and rooms are similarly clean and tidy. Staff are okay. Nothing standout either good or bad. Wouldn't say this hotel is four stars though; more a good three star.

Nice hotel, very high standard, would have its extra star but for the view from my window! But as I'm working, it's not that much of a deal.

Ok hotel. Didn't really have a comprehensive breakfast. The rooms smelled like baby powder.

Stayed here on Friday night and was very impressed with the hotel. Staff were excellent and the room was nice and clean. Very comfy bed. We had lunch next door In cafe rouge which was nice to. Breakfast was nice lots to choose from. Would stay again.

The room is quite large and there are not many breakfast options, but it costs 10 pounds. The bathtub is large in size and comfortable for bathing.

Clean, comfortable rooms with shower essentials, kettle, flat screen, iron, and tea making facilities. Free WiFi.

Comparable to a Premier Inn but with more luxurious decor. The bar opened until 3am for us and while the small breakfast area was busy towards the end, turnover was efficient, with a short comfortable wait in the bar. Don't be afraid to try out the waffle maker!

Good value for money and a no brainer if part of a wedding party discount since you'll have a nicer experience than the Premier for about the same price.
