I had my son at this hospital back in 2013 and the experience was AMAZING. From the doctors, to the nurses, to my appointments, all the way up to the ultrasound appointments. This year with my new pregnancy things have changed. I went for my fetal anatomy ultrasound this past Saturday and I must say it was just a horrible experience. I felt uncomfortable asking questions because I might get the response of, Oh, I m not your doctor to give you results? . As a mother of two now, it is my RIGHT to ask questions if I want to. All I asked was, How does everything look so far? . I m guessing it s only the people working Saturdays because throughout the week, I never had this issue. I understand that maybe some information can t be given, but I m sure a simple, the baby looks good so far answer could ve been more professional. The person being trained was receiving way more information than the patient that was asking questions. This creates a bad reputation for this hospital. Every patient should feel comfortable asking questions when it s about them or their unborn child. Sad to say, I was not the only one complaining about the people that do ultrasounds. Sad.

Our baby girl's first birthday is tomorrow and I was thinking of how wonderful my birth experiences were and had to write you all a review. I delivered both of my babies here. The nurses were wonderful! Caring and competent. My anesthesiologist was amazing too. Getting an epidural is an intense experience and she made me feel safe. The morning after delivering my second baby, the nursing team from our first baby came to visit us to see how we were doing which was so thoughtful. I honestly can't say enough good things about L&D at Clara Maass. Thank you so much for all you do! Special shout out to Nurse Fran!

My mother in law recently lost her battle at Clara Maas, After a 3 month battle with Covid-19, and a Kidney battle. This staff is beyond incredible and never ever gave up I. I will never be able to thank EVERYONE! From the guards, front desk, the young lady that took our temperature, hand cleaners EVERYWHERE. I felt safe! The staff was incredible with my wife as my mom was passing the nurses were ultra compassionate and so very caring THANK YOU THANK YOU ! Never once did these nurses do anything less because of this dreaded Covid. They are truly heroes in my eyes! God bless you all. Thank you ever so much God bless you all. I broke my hand 4 or 5 years ago and the same treatment I had then is still very present today! Thank you.

Had my son in 2010 Amazing experience had my daughter 2012 not as good as the first but ok experience. This time around Horrible when I first got there the nurses were checking on me making sure I had what I needed. Shift change it was downhill nobody was coming to check on me the alarm on my monitor was going off my baby heart rate dropped and still no one. I asked for water at 12am and had to unhook myself and get it at 9am and my IV was empty for 4 hours before getting a new worse experience I ever had in a hospital and I am so disappointed because I ve spoken highly of this hospital in the past.

This hospital was truly a nightmare experience for my 79 year old father for numerous reasons. My father was at a physical therapy/rehab center and against our instructions he was sent to Clara Maass. The doctor assigned to him to would not return our phone calls, in all the time my father was at the hospital we spoke with the assigned doctor only twice, for a total of no more than 10 minutes. The night my father arrived at the hospital no one contacted my brother or I, both which have medical POA for my father who has severe memory issues. The following day we tried to get information as to how he was doing, and we were only able to speak with a very rude nurse who would not give us any information. In a very brief call with the assigned doctor the following day, we were told my father would be discharged the same day. At around 2:30 PM I received a call stating my father would be released back to physical therapy at approximately 5 PM. Then at 9:30 that night we receive a call stating my dad is being transferred to the ICU. We try to reach out to his assigned doctor, does not return calls for the remainder of my dads stay. We repeatedly ask for a specific form to be filled out regarding post hospital treatment, all we get is excuses and the run around. The patient experience telephone number is a total joke, as it goes right to voicemail and no one returned my calls. It took several irate calls to a nursing supervisor to finally get some information and I was promised a call back by 2 directors of the patient experience staff, neither who ever called me back. Everything about my dads stay was just frustrating in having to deal with people who clearly didn't care, return phone calls or offer assistance when needed. For these reasons, I would avoid this hospital whenever possible. Our whole experience with them was a total disgrace.

Had HORRIBLE nurses when I went into labor, as a first time mom they should of been more helpful and understanding. But I do give credit to the wonderful nurses I had after I gave birth, they were extremely caring and friendly. Plus they use old stiff blankets / baby clothes !!!!! Wish you guys could feel those blankets they dare use to wrap babies.

I had an ultrasound on Wednesday and the medical assistant was very rude & unprofessional. She didn t let me finish filling in all my new patient forms. She raised her voice for no reason and said I was taking too long and snatched them right out of my hand! She made me feel like I was at a fast food restaurant, not at a prestigious medical center. When I asked her for her name she rolled her eyes and scoffed! She was the only one not wearing any ID.
I had the option to continue coming here for the rest of my third trimester, but I refused! I never want to go though that again. Nobody should ever have to.
I never got an email about the survey to fill out. Obviously she didn t submit my email. She knows what she is doing and she is getting away with it. I hope nobody else has to go through this!

This place is a death trap , don t bring your family here unless you re prepared to be fighting for their lives. Nurses consistently confused my loved one s treatment. Peoples lives aren t a joke. There needs to be serious changes in the way things are run here.
