Got my car for service, go to show room and salesman ask me if I want to change a car, I ask if it will put hard inquiry on my credit repor, he say no. And now I check there is 2 of them on my Transunion credit report

Can t say enough good things about this dealership. The building was extremely clean and everyone was friendly. The customer service here is fantastic. John Gordon went above and beyond to make the buying experience simple and enjoyable. He made sure all my questions were answered and went over the car in detail with me. Definitely recommending him to anyone looking for a new or used vehicle. Drove 2.5 hours to purchase the car and it was well worth it. Only wish I lived closer so I could have it serviced at City Volkswagen too.

Buying a used car was a nightmare, until I stepped into the Autobarn on Irving Park. I had had a poor experience with other Autobarns previously, and was hesitant to try this one, but Mick Colgan made sure that my experience was different.

Not only did Mick have an extensive product knowledge of the VW lineup, but he was able to provide an unbiased insight into the other makes and models I was considering. The service Mick provided me was unparalleled in all my car-buying years. On top of that, his follow-up was superb; finding me an extra key and making sure that my first service addressed all that it needed to. I was looking for a relatively new Porsche C4S Cabriolet (991) and found one at Autobarn. Sent an email and got a phone call from James Berce. I never thought I would buy a car from a dealer far away from where I am and trade my BMW M3 at the same time. We negotiated the price on a tuesday, and had the Porsche delivered to my house on thursday night of the same week. Same truck took my trade in back to Chicago. Car came clean and it was like brand new just as described over the phone by James (not a scratch, dent, or ding). Paper work was fast so I'm extremely happy with the purchase and sale. The professionalism of everyone there from the manager, accounting and sales is simply spectacular. I highly recommend this dealer and in particular the sales (James Berce and his manager). I saw a vehicle that I was interested in and I first thought it was to good to be true. I called the dealer and Gilbert took care of me. All the staff was polite and not pushy. I recently purchased a new 2018 Tiguan from this dealership. I have nothing but great things to say about my experience. Dagmara was amazing to work with! She was very informative and friendly. I was in and out of the dealership within a few hours. The manager Sam, was also very helpful, when discussing the financial options. Overall, a great experience.

They ripped me off by selling me the car with tires have different brand/type and tread depth. Certified pre-owned vw shouldn't have mismatched tires!!! Talked to them to solve the problem but they said they didn't have the CPO inspection checklist for my car any more (I bought the car last year) I didn't have it either because they didn't give it to me when I bought the car!!! So disappointing, they are dishonest & I wouldn't trust them.

I write this review for Laura and for Jennifer - the two best individuals on the City VW team! I also appreciated Dan reaching out to me after I emailed the owner. When I emailed Anthony, someone was calling me within 10 minutes - which to me, means they care! I went in for service and because we were unhappy with our 2019 Jetta from Texas, we looked at Tiguans. I left with a White 2020 Tiguan (there were quite some situations that occurred during that transaction - which warranted my email to the owner).

After a few days and back and forth and dropping off paperwork, we went back and spoke with Jennifer to finalize said paperwork. Jennifer asked if I was happy with our 2020 Tiguan, I said no, and explained I saw other colors. She said what color/features do you want and voila - we got put into a different vehicle (features are important too). It is not often that I write a review nor have praise for a car dealership. In fact, when I went, I posed that I must be a sadist putting myself through car buying all over again.

Thanks to Anthony, Dan, Laura and Jennifer for working it all out. We are thrilled with our vehicle, with how we were supported and listened to. I can't believe they made it happen.

Went in to take care of some open recalls on my VW CC. Due to some changes in plan, I ended up an hour earlier than scheduled yet, Javier was incredible professional and warming. The staff took great care of me while the mechanics did a fantastic job. Definitely the best VW dealership I've been to around Chicago/suburbs. Highly recommend it.

Bought my 2013 Passat TDI, April 2014, from Alex at AutoBarn on Irving Park. Liked him although he has since left this dealership. The finance manager gone also. Alex found me an Executive driven, owned by VW, and sold as new with all warranty in tact. I bought the dealer protection plan as well as the "All United Car" Coverage Platinum extended plan. Got a good deal on the VW Passat. Alex found the Opra Red color I wanted and had the car brought in from Michigan. I still like the car. HOWEVER:
Last November I had trouble regulating the climate controls in the car. Finally after my wife complained that the passenger side was blowing nothing but cold air, I took it back the AutoBarn. They charged me over $1,000.00 and had the car for four days. NOT covered by insurance. Asked for the defective part, received nothing. Asked for a written explanation of exclusion. Received nothing. Just the bill which I reluctantly paid. Won't be going back there, even for the car wash.
The insurance they offer has many loop holes. I obviously drove a car with a factory defective heater core that I had to replace within the first year of ownership. Just bad luck I guess.

Ask for Ray. Hands down the best experience I've had getting a car. He helped me find the right car for me. Was very patient and professional. I felt no pressure and was comfortable signing. I'm very happy with the experience.

I take my car past 3 VW dealers in my area work/home and I drive the extra miles to City. Conrad Swiatkowski takes care of me in the most professional manner and I know it will get done both quick and courteously. I just wanted to say that Jospeh Ficht has to be best Parts Manager i have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Joe got me out of a jam that another VW dealer got me in when they ordered the wrong part for my client. They told me it would be another two day's before the correct part came in. I called around to check to see if anyone had the part in stock and Joe had it. Not only did he have the part I needed but he drove it out to my shop out in Naperville. As long as Joe is the manager at City Vw the will have a customer for life.

I can't begin to say how horrible our experience was here! My daughter, excited to buy her first car on her own, had called in advance to be sure that the "offer" she had seen on their website was available and she would be able to see a vehicle as listed. Once we got there both the sales manager, whom she spoke with on the phone, and a salesperson were adamant that she didn't really want a lease and that they would show her something she could buy. To sum up our long and agonizing evening at Autobarn - she left without even driving anything - it took them over half an hour to realize we had left and then they started calling and calling her on her phone. STAY AWAY -- THIS IS THE REASON CAR DEALERS GET A BAD REPUTATION - !!!

Soo I'll start by saying I've had my 2006 vw beetle since 2012 . It was my first car and I loved it to death . Long story short my beetle got old and it was time to put her down . Andre helped me during the decision making process cause I wasn't ready to part ways with my 2006 but I knew it was time. He put me in a 2016 vw beetle same color as my old one . Bought a 2020 Atlas Cross Sport R Line from Edgar Anaya.

I went into Autobarn City Volkswagen after hitting a large pothole, causing a bent rim. I've had poor experiences at other VW dealer's service department, but the whole process at Autobarn City Volkswagen was efficient and fair! Alex and the technicians diagnosed the issue and helped me find a solution besides spending $700 on a new wheel. They were able to send the bent rim to be repaired, which was only 1/4 of the cost of the wheel replacement. Alex was very responsive and extremely helpful during the repair process, and I appreciated how he went above and beyond to save me money in repairing my Beetle.

One year ago I came in for a Golf R. I had Laura help me out at the time. She was very respectful, fair, and honest throughout the meeting. Not gonna lie. It caught me off guard because I am used to many car salesmen literally attempting to push and shove any and every service down my throat and refusing to work with me. Laura knows her customers and knew that I was just down to business with no BS at the table. Unfortunately we could not work out a deal with on the Golf R, but I did tell her that I enjoyed her customer service and that I would send customers her way, along with buy a car from her one day as well.

One year later I returned to the dealer. Surprisingly Laura remembered me. Told her that I sent a friend down her way because I loved the brand and loved how professional and down to earth Laura was. She did a quick check and confirmed that I was telling the truth. We sat down and talked over a GTI. Yeah we had a bit of a back and forth with her and her manager trying to work out a deal, but eventually I walked home with a great GTI and a great service plan!

Laura... I keep my promises. I came back and bought a VW from you due to your professional attitude, kindness, and respect. You treated me as a human being buying their first car instead of a dollar sign. Keep up the outstanding work! I will send you more customers when I get the chance! I hope your boss gives you a good raise!

I have a rather lengthy post, but it may be worth the read. I tried to keep emotion out of it, rather I dealt with very specific issues.

I write this letter to express my disappointment in the company The Autobarn , you and whoever the manager is. I felt treated like the stereotypical car salesman mark . I, in good faith, came down to look at the car. My part in this disappointment is that I let my desires of acquiring a TDI get the best of me and I see a couple of red flags crop up that I ignored. I really did NOT look the car over that carefully for I would have seen the paint defect. Secondly, when we talked over numbers they were NOT demonstrated to me, rather Mr. Conrad flipped through the paperwork without explaining much in as to the final numbers and never asked if I had any questions about them.

Where the disappointment comes is the post-sale treatment. As far as the discrepancy in the money, to state that I may get a refund is pretty hokey, rather than explaining the difference. Secondly, and in my mind the most grievous issue is the paint. First, you knew (as well as Kassandra) that I was coming down and I am sure everyone there thought they had a done deal so why NOT look the car over to present it pristine? Secondly, you had a detail man wash the car, after the deal was made and paperwork was being worked on, and there is NO MISTAKING that there was some splatter on the finish. Next, there was NO attempt to demonstrate the paint issue and have ME make the decision as to whether it was a problem or not. You, or anyone there, should have come to me and reveal the issue and ask ME what we want to do with it. Finally, when I emailed you about it, you tell me As for the blemish on the paint. I have to talk with my mangers how to rectify this but about 2 weeks after delivery of the car it is hard to say what they might wanna do. I will speak with them and my detail center to see if there is any way we can fix this problem for you. , Then I emailed that was not acceptable and I got I'm sorry that, that fact of the hood damage was not brought up during the point of sale. If it was, it would have been taken care off immediately. After having the car for 2 weeks now it is hard for me to do anything at this point.

Yes, it is a sorry event that this was NOT brought up at the sale, and to willingly withhold this information is paramount to fraud. Then to wash your hands of the problem shows NO INTEGRITY from either you the manager or The Autobarn dealership. I ended up going to a VW dealership near my home, the sales manager, without charging me, looked at it and realized that the problem was a long standing sap of some nature and in 15 minutes buffed out the car so you do NOT even see the original blemish. I now have my car in the shape that I feel it should have been from your establishment.

I've been looking for a VW GTI for the last two years and was finally forced to buy when my car broke down. I'm based in Houston, TX but was looking all over the country for the exact one that I wanted, and had initially settled on a 2015 based in California and even put a 72 hour hold on it. I still searched for a 2016 in the interim just to see if I could get lucky and find a deal on one; then I found the one at Autobarn and decided to submit an inquiry. Andre Jennings Sr. replied immediately and was very helpful. Although some negotiating had to be done, he wasn't overly pushy and was willing to meet me halfway rather than play hardball, and was even able to secure a competitive interest rate for me! Since the car was being purchased sight-unseen, he even took the time to FaceTime me to show me around the car and point out a scratch on one of the seats that they will be reimbursing me to patch up. Kissy Freeman, the finance manager, was AWESOME. This was my first car buying experience, and she was extremely accommodating and empathetic about that, and made sure that all my questions were answered and never stopped responding to the many inquiries that I had. She always followed up. She was meticulous about the paperwork since it's an out-of-state deal because she wanted everything to go smoothly, which is a plus for me because, as aforementioned, this is all new to me. Altogether, this was a pleasant experience and went as smoothly as I could've asked for seeing as to how it was an out-of-state deal. I recommend Autobarn, especially Andre Jennings Sr. and Kissy Freeman. Also, a special shout-out to the Sales Manager, Claudio, who was willing to wait after the 9PM closing time on a Friday so that I could pick up my car the day I landed in Chicago.

This is an awful dealership. I purchased a car here because they had the lowest price. Overall customer experience was terrible I had to wait in line to purchase for the car, they messed up the title, when returning for minor service they ordered the wrong part and blamed me for it., during the same service visit they made me wait 30 minutes to get my car back after nothing was done. I would recommend going elsewhere for any of your VW needs.

WHERE IS MY TITLE ?!!!! I purchased a used minivan from City Volkswagen of Chicago on 01/06/2020 for cash. Today 02/06/2020 and I didn't receive the title !!!! The sales person Eddie was very nice and patient, but on the other hand after one month and I'm still not able to register the vehicle because I didn't get the title yet. PLEASE MAIL ME THE TITLE.

Talk about lucky... we walk into the autobarn and bump into Ray. Ray was amazing, so much fun to be around and very knowledgeable. You have no choice but to love this guy.

We went to fletcher jones before coming to Autobarn and felt a complete disconnect from the staff there, it almost seemed like they didn't care that you were in there?... All of the staff at autobarn vw want to make sure you are happy and comfortable with the whole experience... I gotto give a shout out to Adam too, talk about a good guy, walks you through the financial aspect of the deal and makes sure everything is perfect before giving you to go ahead, even if that takes several hours!

I have to say I am absolutely thrilled with the autobarn, I have purchased two vechicles and in the process of buying a 3rd, each and every single time it has been a pleasure, however for me where the autobarn really shines is in there service department, they are so organized, And informative they stand behind there work 100%. have taken my car to other service dealers ans let me tell you there are some bad actors out there, the autobarn is not one of them

I brought my car in to City VW on Irving Park rd to have an oil change today, December 23, 2019. I have been getting a regular oil changes here since I bought my 2009 EOS. I have not had any issues here in the past and would rate them 4 stars. But today, I drove home from work for an hour and went straight to the dealership. The service guy got in my car started it, and pulled forward and noted any blemishes on the car. I left and about a half hour later the dealership called to say that my car was dying out and they couldn't keep it running
I said that I'd never had any problems like this before. He said well It's not running and we will have to run diagnostics to tell you why. That is a $150. diagnosis. I was told that they couldn't explain it without diagnostics. I got a call back an hour later to tell me that my car was now running fine, but that a crank seal was leaking slightly and it would cost $1440.00 to fix at a later date.
That I could come and get my car because it was running fine now. I can't help but feel that they just wanted to add $150.00 to my bill. They did say they would give me the $150.00 back after I had the $1440.00 repair done. I am very disappointed and feel that nothing was wrong with my car that a $150.00 upcharge could apparently fix

Our experience at Autobarn City Volkswagen gets the highest marks. Everyone was most helpful, courteous and knowledgeable, especially our consultant, Mohammed Ali. He was the best. Took his time and answered every question. We would definitely recommend them and will return for another car, if needed.

I made an appointment with John back in February to view a Passat and ended up driving the car out that same evening. John was very courteous and knowledgeable in answering all of my questions and made the whole process quite seem less. I couldn t recommend John more highly.

I cane to the city autobarn in chicago and Mohammed Greeted me and was very respectful and honest from beginning to end he was able to answer all the questions we had and made the process simple and easy. I started building cars at a very young age, and now purchase them for my company for a living. I have never had such an easy experience as I had here. The entire staff was kind, cordial, and knew what they were doing. I went in to the dealership and it wasn't like your typical dealership where sales guys in $25 suits put out their cigarettes and ask you "what's it going to take to get you into a car today?"

JP, Sam, Anthony were all extremely helpful, and it was more like going over to a friends place to hang out, than it was buying a new car.

Autobarn VW on Irving Park were very helpful in getting us into a car that was suitable to our needs; they have a lot of cars in inventory, everyone is very friendly and helpful, and their showroom is very comfortable.

We met Allen Horvath in the morning and discussed the car we wanted or needed. He had us take one for a drive to their holding yard which is full of other cars - they had over half a dozen of the specific model, transmission, age and equipment we were after in stock - and when we returned later that day (after shopping around) Allen was still there ready to complete the paperwork with us. The paperwork took quite a long time but in my experience that's just the way it is with car dealers.

They have good prices, good service, and they offer free car washing and cleaning. I'd definitely go back.

I took my CC in for service at Autobarn City VW and once again Conrad Swiatkoski the service manager gave me a great service experience . I was quoted for the work and given a time frame for when the work will be done since I waited and sure enough they finished my service and I paid the quoted amount I was told. They are two other VW dealers like Fox Valley VW and Larry Roesch VW that are nine miles or less from where I live in Bloomingdale , but when I went to those dealership to get service done on my past VW"s I was treated like a number and not like family how Autobarn City Volkswagen and Conrad Swiatkoski with great service crew . I don't mind driving 25 miles one way from Bloomigdale to City VW because I know I will get great service and fair pricing on all my VW's .

In general the experience was good and Eddie was friendly and helpful. They took every opportunity to ensure the car and my experience was above standard.

A point of feedback on why they didn't earn 5 stars from me, was the difficulty in negotiating buyer's fees with the dealer. I understand dealerships need to make a profit, but non-advertised certification fees and "non-negotiable" $300 VIN etching fees are a turn off to any buyer. Eventually, we made a deal that was fair to both buyer and seller, but it took a lot of effort on my part.

I would say to anyone going into city volkswagen to expect excellent service, the team there is top notch. However, keep a watchful eye on the price tag of your purchase.

I just had the pleasure of purchasing a Volkswagen CC from JP at Autobarn City VW. JP was excellent with the sale and the process was particularly smooth. The dealership was comfortable and friendly, and after purchasing many cars over the years, this was the best experience I have had a at dealership. JP was ready with the vehicle, had great knowledge of the car, and was genuinely interested that we got the right car at the right price. We had done a lot of research and seen a lot of vehicles, and JP was great integrating our experiences into assessing this vehicle and making an eventual sale. The dealership was particularly accommodating when one of us had to leave for work, and we were able get the paperwork done quickly, and for the other person, conveniently at a later time. Everyone did a great job and we came away satisfied that this family owned dealership is set for success for many years.
