Overall it is a city that is very used to the "it is what it is" or "it is always been this way". If you look far into the future, this city is not likely to grow at the rate of the world. It had its moments in the past now it is just fine with status quo. Collectively this city is fairly conservative. It would not be as inclusive as you would expect a Canadian city to be. The population in this city is aging fast, despite the inflow in recent years due to its cheap housing market.
This city has suffered from one after another failed politician/mayor. It has not had much luck with its city managers and leaders. It has not had leaders with true visions or even an updated world view. It feels that the city is managed by people that would say "I grew up in Ingersoll/Chatham and drove to the United States with my parents once when I was 17. I have heard of Japan or China, but I think they are fishing countries close to Vietnam that are of the same size" or "Chicken balls and burritos are my favorite exotic food item".
It is quiet, and reasonably clean. The crime rate has not gone up too much and it is generally safe.
If you are expecting a reasonable economic growth (without considering the inflow of cheap house buyers), you are not going to find much here.

370. million. dollars. Is what the city of london is rejecting from our government as nimby-ism prevails yet again. A half baked transit plan is better than no plan at all, especially when considering the city of london would have received almost four hundred million dollars to help upgrade it's infrastructure. pathetic.

London is a sprawling cess pool. The river reeks because of the sewage that the city pumps into. City hall is occupied by scammers and crooks. London mayors are infamous for bad behaviour eg. Joe Montana, Matt Brown. London is always looking backwards and trying to cling to the past. The latest mess that city hall is making is in transit planning. Back in the 60s they couldn't get on board with a ring road/expressway and now the roads here a complete joke. They'll probably drop the ball on transit too. I'm getting out of London asap. City hall and the whole town seems to suffer from inbreeding.

Recently, we moved to London from a smaller community north of Toronto. We have found London City staff to be very friendly and helpful. I have noticed that the City is working on a Community Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, making sure that nobody is oppressed based on race, age, health, religion, gender, sexual orientation or other such factors. I find this to be very progressive, and it makes me feel welcome as a new resident.

Recently i received a letter from city hall that i have to come to a committee meeting and i have to raise my objections on the city. I was told in the letter that time of the committe meeting will be at 2 pm and it never started till 2.45 pm. After waiting for almost 45 mins and when i raised my objections no one did anything about my objections and they go ahead with their agenda. City of london just work for the big corporations and they do lot listen to the city residents. Total waste of time.
