I've had nothing but good experiences with the Utilities department. Never had trouble with paying a bill or issues with amounts i've been charged. Also, moving between apartments is painless.

While the lady I talked to last was very kind and caring, most of their customer service representatives are rude. What's worse, if you are in a hard financial situation and have a disability/medical condition that could easily hospitalize you or worse because they have shut off your power (meaning no heat in winter or AC or fans in summer), they won't help you AT ALL if you've used up your one extension a year. It also doesn't matter if there are children who could be affected. So if you have a choice in power companies, DON'T use Fort Collins Utilities. I've heard much, much better things about Xcel.

Why EVERY MONTH do you send me a return business envelope-with a plastic window-when I have always auto-paid online? Think of the wasted resources. Please stop. Thank you.

Poor customer service. Automated pay service does not work. Fort Collins utilities has all my bank account information and still cannot figure out how to do automatic payments. If I had a choice of who I pay for my utilities it would not be Fort Collins utilities. Worse utility providers ever do not use unless you have too.

Always only have one person at the service desk when they have 3 operating windows. Unacceptable and horrifyingly poor job of management for allowing this to continue for over 2 years. City of Fort Collins government is a joke!

If your name is not the primary account signer. Be careful of signing up for paperless billing because if you forget your password or lose it it is very difficult to get signed into your account It s pretty much impossible unless you have the primary signer go into the office with you.

This utility company is hands-down the worst I have ever dealt with, and as a government software consultant, I've moved around a lot in the past and have dealt with many utility companies. The longer I live here, the more greed, corruption, and poor city management I see in the operations of this city. This latest move to time-of-day pricing is more of the same. I've recently moved into a new home in the far south side of Fort Collins, and dealing with this organization has been nothing but problems. Any business who relies primarily on the unreliable USPS to communicate with their customers is outdated beyond reason. They have our phone numbers and one or more email addresses, so there is no reason why they cannot back up a mailing with an electronic reminder. This brings me to another point. NO utility company should disconnect service when they are not in the office to answer the phone. I do not know why they feel that they should start working an hour later on Wednesday mornings, and I do not care. If a utility company feels the need to disconnect service due to nonpayment, they should first try to contact the customer directly via text message, email, or phone. Then, if the account is past due more than 90 days, feel free to disconnect service. This organization charges you a re-connection fee of about $20, as though they are having to pay to send someone out to physically turn the service back on, yet service connection is performed via automated electronic means. Looks like greed to me! I was about to start a software development and identity protection business here in Fort Collins, but due to the manner in which this city is managed, I've already decided to build that business elsewhere to avoid contributing anything more to this city and its organizations.

After dealing with the water crew people, my conclusion is that they are among the most competent and nicest people in town. They fit none of the negative stereotypes that some people have of city employees. They are quick to respond, personable, and explain clearly what they are doing or what needs to be done by others. Fort Collins pride.

Not very friendly... found them to be demeaning then asked me to do something that was their job. Maybe they were having a bad day but come one. I felt one inch tall when I got off the phone with them.

You can't get a straight answer from these people. First off the TOD.. rates is wrong. It's ripping people off... The ones who conserve don't get a break. They say it's not an increase.. it is.. rates went up but failed to let me know. It's complete insanity. Why are the so called holiday lights still on downtown,??? You tell people to use less but the cost to run all those lights.. who pays for it??? Turn them off. Raising rates.. TOD.. is hurting people. Ones who try don't get any break.. my bill went up.. but my usage went down.. how is that not an increase. Highest rates ever.. .. if your going to make people pay more.. shut the lights off downtown.. it only makes sense.. hypocrite first it's TOD rates.. then you just had another increase.. it never ends.. people shouldn't have to sit in the dark.. or turn off heat.. to survive.. use common sense.. stupidity.. is what it is.. we pay enough taxes in this town.. and you keep raising the rates.. put it to a vote.. who ever came up with this idea.. shame on you..

Time of day pricing is equivalent to daytime robbery on the people of Fort Collins. Not only are the rates exorbitant, we didn't even have a choice in the matter. The rich will be able to afford to run AC while the middle and lower class are being told to turn theirs off. Whoever made this plan should lose their job.
