City Ice Pavilion gives you that suburban ice rink feel without having to leave NYC! The grounds are in top notch shape. This is where hockey is practiced. They have a blade sharpener on site and nighttime offers music. Bring the kids. This is a family friendly place. You don't need a lock for the lockers. They are quarter operated.

The City Ice Pavilion is a family friendly place. Good value and very organized. The process of getting in, getting rentals, and then going to the skating area is super easy. Great for parties and playdates. And it's not expensive.

Don't tell anyone about this place! ;-) It's a gem and you can find yourself nearly alone on the ice depending on when you go. Great pro shop, nice staff, lovely smooth ice, great place for a hockey lesson because you can rent the little side rink.

Good rink and adult hockey opportunities. I think it's really hard to get on a league here due to strong demand, but not hard at all to join in on stick/shoot or open hockey more generally.

It's a really great ice skating ring to learn on. What made me give this place 5 stars is the free parking, very friendly service, it wasn't crowded which made it easier for me to navigate two kids who were ice skating for the first time. We're definitely going back .

I was scared off my ass skating for the first time ever. So I grabbed to the the sides of the rink and slid around it, took me an hour, but I did it! Just imagine a 6'6 giant doing that, honestly I was just scared to fall. The taller you are, the harder you fall. I can't wait to go again, this time I'll actually try and skate. Great place to skate, a little crowded however, but it's worth checking out.

Offers the second best adult league anywhere around and has really good pickup hockey any time during the week. For how much business this place does it s a shame it isn t better kept. Ice shuts down multiple times a year for random maintenance and it isn t the best ice in the world but it gets the job done.

I Like the area !i think lockers should be for free or at least one time payment(0.75 each time you close it),restroom should be at the same floor as the rink(you have to leave the ice skate rink to elevetaor and bathroom are on 2 fl where you make a payment to go ice skating

I have been to City Ice many times since they opened. After reading some of the reviews here, I have to say that it's a great place for adults and kids. The rink is great. The food is good. The building is ok, but we are there for the ice skating, not the aesthetics. If you are looking to have fun, put this place on your list of things to do.

Not as expensive as I was expecting and the workers keep the ice friendly for all skating levels from beginner to advanced.

Also, skating on a rooftop in new york is just something anybody who gets the chance to do should do.

Great date idea if you both can or want to learn how to skate!

Nice facility

Nice facility
Good to take your kids for training as they got good instructors "get paid cash only"
The entrance is on the back side of the building "rear entrance"
It's so cold inside to keep the ice cool I guis, so it requires to dress well for that.

Great venue in LIC to learn ice skating. Because of the density and lack of available options in NYC, you will skate jampacked alongside tons of kids that are looking to be the next hockey or figure skating heroes of tomorrow.

If you want to play ice hockey, this is a great alternative to Chelsea Piers. Adult Open hockey at Chelsea piers is $35. City Ice Pavillion charges $20 for noontime hockey for 90 minutes. The ice conditions are good. It stays cold and crisp in the small arena. The mens locker rooms are not secured, but there seems to be a level of trust and comfort that things won't get stolen. It's still at the infant stage of a small community. Hopefully this place will last for a while

When I wanted to start taking ice skating lessons a few years ago, I came to City Ice Pavilion. Prices are way lower than in Manhattan, and it's really easy to get to. The coaching staff is knowledgable, and there is a lot of time for public skate during the weekends. They offer group lessons for everyone from tots to adults, and private lessons are usually around $40/half hour, which is a great deal. I would definitely recommend City Ice if you're looking for a place to practice or start learning.

Great place if your child is into hockey! They have a house league, travel team and they even offer camp during the school breaks. My son loves playing hockey and going to their camps even over the summer!
They have great coaches too!

A simple but good facility with well kept ice (very cold, dress appropriately) and big change rooms. Bathrooms are clean. There is a pro shop and you can get your skates sharpened here. No food except from vending machines but there are a few spots around the corner to grab a coffee or tea. Indoor garage parking (free) on site or street parking available.

Good. When we went it was not full but the ice was not very good. Good price. We could not use the whole place because some people reserved part of the rink to have classes (? I guess).

Good for skating, you can rent skates (the skates are old and well worn and not too sharp but ok for beginners) the track is great however as the closing time approaches (5pm) the track starts getting very "worn out" and it gets worse for skating. When we went there was a large space reserved for children who were taking classes with private teachers (? I think). Not the best rink but okay to go and have fun.
