No real help... Want you to go in circles and ONLY help with low wage work...
Oh I'll just leave this at 5 Stars no sense from me commenting
It's mostly oriented to help low income families and women & children.
The 9th st center is the main hub to start and help most groups individuals in low income situations. The center it self is clean. And organised to help. Like all such places..PLEASE leave the bulk of non essential behind at home. Double so for excessive metallic jewelry or items with lots of nobs and clips. It helps speed up security check in prior to seeing an aide.
And be advised they thoroughly check bags and ANY suspicious items BEFORE admittance. Any contraband holder will be asked to take it outside beyond the facilities property areas.
Went to Diaper bank to pickup two Free cases of Size 2T pullup diapers for my son.
Friendly workers. The times that I have gone it doesn't take more than 1hour or less being there. I like this office because there isn't alot of waiting time. Also since its focused more on families with kids the space feels more welcoming.
One of the human resource workers was so very kind to me and she took her time to help me. But one of the workers told me I was timed out and that I could continue to receive my benefits no matter how much I make and then turned around and cut my benefits off completely due to the fact that I make to much money here in San Francisco. So she just completely bold faced lied to me. So I'm actually really not impressed or satisfied with that ridiculous bold face lie that was told.
Slow. I feel the ppl there don't wanna be there. They get paid to do nothing. Make sure you have copies or receipts of everything just in case they try to play you. Just lazy. Some of the ppl are cool
I AM A RECIPIENT OF MEDI-CAL AND FOOD STAMPS AND OBTAINED MY JOB THROUGH THE CAL-WORKS PROGRAM. I DEEPLY APPRECIATE THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE STATE TO ME AND MY FAMILY WHO WERE STRUGGLING.
THIS PARTICULAR LOCATION FOR CAL-WORKS HAS SOCIAL WORKERS AND ELIGIBILITY WORKERS WHO ARE VERY HELPFUL AND LOOK FOR ALL RESOURCES THAT WOULD BENEFIT FAMILIES. BUT THERE ARE ALSO WORKERS WHO ARE THERE BECAUSE ITS IN THEIR JOB DESCRIPTION AND AREN'T VERY HELPFUL AT ALL.
IF PLANNING TO APPLY FOR BENEFITS, UTILIZE ALL OF THE PROGRAMS THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. ESPECIALLY NOW THAT THOSE BENEFITS COULD BE CUT DUE TO OUR NEW PRESIDENT.
It's actually not as bad as I'd thought it'd be. The line for pretty fast except they lost my number once and I had to go to the end of the queue again. The DMV is ten times worse. The people are generally knowledgeable and helpful too.
