Perhaps because it is in a group, which is certain that all groups complained. Poor catering service. Professionally malformed employees. Takes advantage of the space that is mt cute.

The best place to watch good movies in Lisbon.

The best place to watch good movies in Lisbon.
No popcorn or obnoxious movie goers and a wide selection of movies from all over the world. Mostly classics and cult movies (even if obscure cult movies)

Really quiet, beautiful place. Perfect for cinema lovers. Has a small museum, a small book shop and coffee shop. Great place to study or work. Entrance can be confusing for new people - ask in the reception for indications.

Beautiful building where several films are shown every day.
It also has mounted different devices used in the history of cinema as well as cartels on films from different times and places.
It has a cozy bar with a terrace and a library dedicated to cinema.
If you are in the area, it is worth taking a tour.

As the name implies it is a film museum and the films shown belong to the history of cinema. The programming is careful, excellent choices for all tastes at a modest price. It has an excellent restaurant / cafeteria. Quiet environment, exquisite service and a very balanced menu with very reasonable prices. The snack carvery is a must.

2 months ago : Everything's closed and it's written nowhere. How is it even possible ?

Update :
It was not a sunday, genius, it was during the week, and the website said it was open !!! It was in august, and we checked the opening hours before we came.

One of the very few places where you can see high quality cinema. Prices are cheaper than in commercial theaters and much smarter movies. The cafe with terrace is also a nice space.

Well set up the outdoor movie sessions, good movies and an air of magic when we go out and let the tape roll on the old machines. The bar could have more quality and diversity, but it has a very adequate price. I hope great to spend a good early evening.

The exhibits are rather small and so are the actual screens, but where this place excels is in the cafe. Good food and plenty of sun, both indoors and outside.

So you can watch a movie, have a bite to eat, check an exhibit and work in the library. The only thing missing is a place to sleep :)

The Cinemateca Portuguesa-Museu do Cinema fulfills the important and very useful role of conserving the memory of national and international cinema. It is therefore available to anyone who wants to consult or view films or similar materials. The Cinemateca has eventually participated in film festivals held in Lisbon. You can get there by Metro (Avenida).

If you love cinema this is the best cinema projection rooms with a word renown selection of movies.
The building itself is quite an experience as well.
In the summer there is also projections outside with a drink for free.
Plus it's cheap specially considering the quality of the real leather chairs and high quality sound system.
A place for people who respect the works and where you'll hear no would during the projections, no popcorn no advertisements, just pure Art in motion.
Check the movies in their website!
