Great decor, and a wonderful place to catch older movies.
If you like movies, you must visit. Nice museum and good cultural programming.
Perhaps because it is in a group, which is certain that all groups complained. Poor catering service. Professionally malformed employees. Takes advantage of the space that is mt cute.
Very beautiful. Cinematheque with a museum. And a magnificent cafeteria with. A patio
One of the best throughout the years film programs in the world.
I loved it, you can see the treatment that a country gives to its culture because of its Film Library.
If you like cinema you have to go to cinemateca. I love the place.
Hardly a museum, but it does screen 1920's & 30's classics.
Home to any movie lover. Must visit! Do not forget to check the bookshop on the top floor has great books and an exemplary service
Quiet terrace in the center of Lisbon, the best cinema in Lisbon.
A bit overexpensive, but delivers a very good experience. Go up the stairs and enjoy your time at the lounge bar/restaurant.
Nice space for meetings or just to unwind. Attentive service.
Very interesting space for all who like cinema. In addition to a diverse program, with very affordable prices, it has a very pleasant cafeteria.
Excellent location. Very pleasant and very friendly. Frequent sessions with very interesting films. Nice bar. Interesting bookshop. Place to visit.
The best place to watch good movies in Lisbon.
No popcorn or obnoxious movie goers and a wide selection of movies from all over the world. Mostly classics and cult movies (even if obscure cult movies)
Classic vintage of knowledgeable art of portuguese blak and white amazing cinema era, must be cherish, celebrate and educate the young generation about this treasure

Really quiet, beautiful place. Perfect for cinema lovers. Has a small museum, a small book shop and coffee shop. Great place to study or work. Entrance can be confusing for new people - ask in the reception for indications.
The "library" of cinema. Good movies and good atmosphere.
Beautiful building where several films are shown every day.
It also has mounted different devices used in the history of cinema as well as cartels on films from different times and places.
It has a cozy bar with a terrace and a library dedicated to cinema.
If you are in the area, it is worth taking a tour.
The emblematic place in Lisbon for movie lovers, with bar and restaurant with terrace. With glamor and with a historical aspect of the cinematography is located in a beautiful building that is worth visiting.
Excellent to have a coffee at any time of the day, with a very friendly service. The terrace is pleasant. Do not expect any panoramic views, but it is very quaint!
Lovely, coffee shop, bookstore, two movie theaters and museum. For those who like cinema, I recommend.
Cult programming for film buffs no fault in a space full of charm.
very small
just good for a quick visit before the movie
Cozy. Good selection of films. It has a quiet bar and good atmosphere. In the corridors and bar, you can study and work on the laptop. It has a nice terrace
Great site for movie lovers.
Varied programming with different cycles.
Student discounts.
It also has a bar / restaurant with a terrace upstairs which is fine.
The building in general is very beautiful.
Very charming, organized and the best permanent cinema program in Lisbon
Lovely retro cinema :) 3 euro for a good old movie, if you are a movie lover and need an escape from the party night life
Visiting for tea, or seeing the library or watching a movie, the cinematheque has it all. It's good
Must visit for movie lovers. Very well structured space with exhibitions, cinema, a delicious cafe and themed bookstore. The exemplars of cinematographic equipment give a special charm.
It's a amazing place totaly restoured with a good cine room and a good restaurant "39 degraus".
delicate, pleasant place. accessible, has a cafe restaurant with outside area.
As the name implies it is a film museum and the films shown belong to the history of cinema. The programming is careful, excellent choices for all tastes at a modest price. It has an excellent restaurant / cafeteria. Quiet environment, exquisite service and a very balanced menu with very reasonable prices. The snack carvery is a must.
2 months ago : Everything's closed and it's written nowhere. How is it even possible ?
Update :
It was not a sunday, genius, it was during the week, and the website said it was open !!! It was in august, and we checked the opening hours before we came.
Love it too much!
There are always great movies and a wonderful bookshop! Beautiful space !!
One of the very few places where you can see high quality cinema. Prices are cheaper than in commercial theaters and much smarter movies. The cafe with terrace is also a nice space.
Well set up the outdoor movie sessions, good movies and an air of magic when we go out and let the tape roll on the old machines. The bar could have more quality and diversity, but it has a very adequate price. I hope great to spend a good early evening.
An extraordinary opportunity to see great cinema. Excellent programming, very democratic prices. A reference for culture and cinema in Portugal and Lisbon
Beautiful place, with great film programming, cutting edge cultural events and a bookstore full of works relevant to scholars of the theme. Worth it!
The exhibits are rather small and so are the actual screens, but where this place excels is in the cafe. Good food and plenty of sun, both indoors and outside.
So you can watch a movie, have a bite to eat, check an exhibit and work in the library. The only thing missing is a place to sleep :)
The Cinemateca Portuguesa-Museu do Cinema fulfills the important and very useful role of conserving the memory of national and international cinema. It is therefore available to anyone who wants to consult or view films or similar materials. The Cinemateca has eventually participated in film festivals held in Lisbon. You can get there by Metro (Avenida).
Great place with many great old film cinema cameras and projectors. Entrance fee is free. But it will be more knowledgeable if there are descriptions about the photos, cameras, projectors etc.
A special place where you breathe culture! A must see !!
Great space! And the restaurant 39 steps is great. I recommend
Beautiful building, the book store is very beautiful and the library is really amazing. You can not take pictures, so be careful;)
An exemplary cultural institution, even internationally.
It's a drought but if you want to sleep it's big place
If you love cinema this is the best cinema projection rooms with a word renown selection of movies.
The building itself is quite an experience as well.
In the summer there is also projections outside with a drink for free.
Plus it's cheap specially considering the quality of the real leather chairs and high quality sound system.
A place for people who respect the works and where you'll hear no would during the projections, no popcorn no advertisements, just pure Art in motion.
Check the movies in their website!
