Having had to travel several times to the PMU of the CHUV both in medicine and in orthopedics at night and during the day, I was received each time in a very professional and human manner. A big thank you to the whole team for the quality of your commitment. Alain Rieben

incompetent and extremely slow emergency service! the doctors are not listening, the staff play and have fun while we wait for hours. literally hours, I accompanied a friend 6 months ago, we waited 5 hours and I went there 3 days ago and I waited 4:30 ... It's a wonder if we pays them or not, because if they do, our taxes are really misused ...

A disaster .... more than 4 hours of waiting for 2 simple radio. In no hurry to deal with and finalize emergencies, which by the way is very badly named .... it is really not an EMERGENCY service but slow .... a shame for such a hospital ... .

Only to say for me your hospital and all its staff from the simple housekeeper to the greatest teachers I have only one word to say THANKS.

The 1 star concerns the cuisine. Unfortunately, I have had to stay sometimes at the CHUV for 6 years and the food is worse every time. This time not only was it not good but colder. The other problem is that you have been kept on an empty stomach since midnight for surgery the next morning. It finally took place around 6 p.m.! No drink when I only have one kidney and a bad creatinine value. All of my requests were denied.

Arrived in emergency at 23h ... taken care of at 2 am apparently I have not a luxury insurance .. a service manager paused at night laughed to make jokes by mocking the patients I was part of while I suffer in my corner .. still a medical establishment that takes human beings for clients NOT PATIENTS! Released at 6am after waiting 3 hours alone in a box ... I think the animals are better treated! Fortunately that the rest of the medical staff was nice and they are conscientious people but under pressure of unfaithful and very dishonest officials ... J imagine that the bill will arrive faster than I was supported! Finally, do not go as far as you can and privilege other hospitals ...

Are not in a hurry to save your life ... disgusting attitude. We are not models or holograms, it is sometimes very difficult not to be able to speak. And for you, dear collaborator of the CHUV, as long as we do not demand we are nonexistent !!! Shame.

Have had a bad experience with the poorly qualified palliative care service. Are not listening to the needs of the patient. For our part, a good knowledge of the medical file ... No respect for advance directives. Nursing service, however, always effective despite the stress. thanks to them

For emergency treatment, absolutely avoid ... We swing to the left to the right, the expectations are endless, the communication between the services is catastrophic. 15h total expectations for major dizziness, to finally say that it was due to stress ... And all without ever proposing something to eat ... It's too much, we did not never seen that! Not to mention the price of parking that falls under the scam and is the responsibility of the customer obviously ...

With each faith that I went to the CHUV I am treated like the ****, frankly I am really disappointed, I always wait a thousand years for nothing, so that finally a doctor takes me and really treat me In short, you can go to other emergency services because you already lose less time in your life (I even have a friend who told me that she had waited for 15h at the CHUV once) stop doing the mistake of always going there, there's other place I reassure you

I came back to the CHUV emergency department on Tu...

I came back to the CHUV emergency department on Tuesday at 11am because of the appendicitis crisis ... About twenty people took care of me (receptionists, doctors, medical assistants, carers, nurses, radiologists, surgeons) and I take my hat off because they have all been extremely human, patient, and effective. They made me a battery of tests to confirm the diagnosis, during that time I was comfortably installed in a small box in the emergency room. I never stayed alone for long, always a medical staff who passed to check that everything was fine ... I asked many questions, and took the time to answer me, to explain everything to me was going to happen, which I really appreciated. I was operated the same evening, everything went very well, and I left in a much better condition than on arrival! A big thank you to the CHUV team who took care of me with such ethics and humanity, I strongly recommend this hospital on the basis of my personal experience.

0 stars! My experience for 30 years: Every appointment is the same: lost file, convocation in a false service, cancellation of appointments, stressed staff and me-foutiste, doctors (teachers!) Arrogant and haughty who systematically denigrate the opinions of other hospitals. One prefers to smoke cigarettes and discuss one's private life than to take care of patients who coltinent 3 RDV to finally be received in the good service. It takes 2 translators for a doctor who is unable to speak French (!) And the sickness fund must pay the 3 "specialists" who are actually "apprentices" (assistant-translators). As other patients have written: A total misunderstanding of rare diseases because we prefer to send the patient in psychiatry or to healers (This is the best proof of incompetence). Fortunately there is the HUG to find advice and especially help from competent specialists. Not even basic equipment for paraplegic patients. How can we classify this permanent dysfunction box as one of the best hospitals? A ranking of academicians who go back mayonnaise between them? And for the prices of all car parks: A shame, and to each criticism the same answers bogus (private parking) instead of making things happen!

Incredible waiting time in gynecological emergency. Even if I can understand that there are emergencies in this service, I do not understand that we do not find 5 minutes to take a look at an infection and prescribe treatment for the more than 4:30 hours of waiting. This lack of organization at CHUV will always amaze me. What is more, hearing the comments of the THREE receptionists saying that there really was no one left in the emergency room since the Covid ...

I had to use the EXCELLENT PMU services to which I put 6 stars! and for the rest of my hospitalization CHIR VIISCERALE where I stayed 4 days unanimously the staff is TOP and care is more refined and safe! Thank you to all.
little parenthesis: the nurses (like me by the way) have a lot of trouble to put veinous pathways ... so my arms had become like colanders ... oul oulet but the will doing they will acquire! another mention and not least: the surface technicians, nurse assistants are particularly attentive to bring a super maximum and rigor to the cleanliness, the changes of linen, to our hotel comfort in general, as for the kitchen: this is exceptional to be able to choose so many dishes (except if diet) on a day up to 3 menus at noon and two at night is perfect! Hat the CHUV! many other hospital settings could be inspired. Anne Toumi ch. 505 14th floor

Obviously a problem of under-staff gynecological emergencies, more than 7 hours of waiting one night yet calm. The nurse (or aide) who completes the file not really friendly and dynamic. The food distributors do not take the cards, so no dinner for me because more money. The star is due to the nurse on duty who was kind enough to come to us to announce waiting times and orders of passage.

Very large hospital with a part with emergencies and a part with standard reception.

The situation requires everyone to wear a surgical mask to enter.

The staff are friendly and welcoming.

It is difficult to navigate there to visit someone and few parking spaces and quite expensive.

Quality of advice and excellent care (tropical medicine for vaccines, then subsequent treatment of malaria in ambulatory). Very friendly staff, clear explanations received. However, the doctor changed from one visit to another. What could be improved: (1) provide the entire treatment (28 pills) rather than the first dose (4 pills), which resulted in a waste of 4 pills, or 8 CHF, and required an open pharmacy search after 18h in Lausanne having the medicine in stock ... (2) send the invoice directly to the patient when he asks for it. The transit through insurance was a waste of time, considering the amount less than my franchise (3) improve the legibility of the bill for the patient.

There are not 0 stars, otherwise it would have been my rating !! Slow service and carefree and un compassionate doctors. How can you leave a person in emergencies without drinks and food from 16h to 23h ?? !! It's horrible !! No discretion in this hospital, even the cleaning staff are aware of what you suffer ... This is inadmissible and inhumane !!

The worst medical experience of all my life ... no...

The worst medical experience of all my life ... not only are we feeling disturbed, they are simply bad and uneducated, 1 specialist out of 10 knows how to answer your questions. We have the impression that today a patient must learn all alone on the internet, is already supposed to know everything and he must just come and ask for a prescription from the doctor. Person explains nothing, they all want to play starlets, wear Rolexes and drive a Porch. The rest, ... the patients, all that, bouffffff, a pity that the patients are part of his life.

My husband took his father to the emergency room at the chuv on the advice of the ORL because he had serious problems with the inner ear. Impossible to stand without falling, severe vomiting etc. Arrived at 10 am this morning it took almost 1 hour 30 minutes for them to be admitted and then another 4 hours of waiting. Then the doctor wants an MRI so still waiting because the MRI is in great demand. It is currently 7:30 p.m., they've been waiting for the nurse for 1:30 and the nurse tells them that there is still a long wait. 9 hours of waiting for nothing yet, we do not offer food or drink, these emergencies are a real disaster, it's scary ...

With a loved one I accompanied, we waited 3 to 8 hours for kidney pain. After leaving the hospital (still in the emergency room) to go to a clinic, the problem was renal colic. Back at the CHUV, the specialists surprised us as to their inexperience in reading the radiography of a kidney, and in minimizing the problem. It was embarrassing for me to accompany a loved one to a renowned hospital that has a miserable service and wait. There are very few staff (apparently 10,000?).

If you still plan to go to the emergency room, make an appointment.

I went to the emergency room at 3 am on Tuesday, D...

I went to the emergency room at 3 am on Tuesday, December 24, 2019. The hospital was occupied by only 3 emergency patients. I went there because I smoked a chemo and the side effects prevented me from sleeping so that's why I went there. I was quickly transferred to a room on the ground floor where I stayed for more than 3 hours. There were more than 5 caregivers laughing at each other surfing the internet with their smartphone quietly while I was in my room suffering. I find it unacceptable in Switzerland for the price we pay that we have to wait all the time and yes because I left at 4 am giving up and preferring to go home. And this is not the first time that it happens to me it is necessary not to call the sa the urgency but of the amusement. My wife was once made for an excruciating pain she had to wait more than 9 hours to the end the doctor the bot and does not explain clearly what she had because the doctor was tired and do not even speak well French she did not understand anything. The Swiss country where we leave so much money without saying anything and where we are taken for pigeons welcome

Those who give negative opinions are the eternal service grunts who are never happy and who probably do not have the same comfort at home. I am extremely positive about everything that can be received here despite the reasons that bring us here. A staff of remarkable availability of kindness consumed despite the stress of each moment. High level professionals on every floor ... the cardiology department I attended for 2 years due to very difficult issues brought me a lot in terms of care and the human level. From teachers so accessible to maintenance staff. Thank you for this wonderful organization for our good

Queue for the doctor on Friday-Saturday night was over 7 hours and nurses wouldn't give me any pain medication for severe stomach pains. Nurses were busy in the coffee room and no one asked how I felt or if I needed anything. 1/5 stars

I went to PMU again the next day and suddenly I was given pain meds and taken to a private room where I had blood tests done and heart monitored. Nurses and doctors were kind and professional there. 5/5 stars

Update: I had an inflammated appendix and it was removed in a surgery some time after I got back into my home country.

Really good service. After arriving I waited less than 10 to receive the first nurse. Along the hospitalization they ask me every time if everything is good and do all the exams necessary. Now I just feel scared about the bill, except that everything is perfect.

I was the only patient that night, and still spent...

I was the only patient that night, and still spent more than 3,5 hours there. I am wondering if there is any logical reason why so much time of waiting is needed. Hope it is not the deliberate politics of the hospital to discourage people to seek medical help.

The nurses were super polite and warm. The doctor was extremely kind too, and tried to be helpful. But it was quite frustrating to know that they can not make an antibody serological test for COVID-19 because too many permissions are required from the superior authorities. Basically, what I heard was an assumption that my condition is the consequence of COVID which we assume I had in March (according to the symptoms, as it was not allowed to be tested then either).
But no answer for what exactly are the complications that make me feel so bad. No check of hematological, biochemistry, and coagulation parameters. For me it is not convincing the conclusion, without specific analysis, that if a person had no thrombosis, blood clots, heart problems before, then probably she would not have them in the nearest future.

I understand the system may not care about the health of one single person, but in times of the dangerous unknown virus, I sincerely expected some more enthusiasm or at least some scientific interest in examining the patients who survived but still suffer!
