Today (Sunday, 8/27/17) was my first time attending CBG (the Sawgrass location).

The ministerial staff were very warm and friendly. I noticed the casual environment which is great especially if you're laid back, have children, or young adults that you'd like to attend church.

The Praise and Worship is very dynamic and contemporary. A guest pastor named Scott Thomas from Lakeland, Fl ministered an awesome message. I enjoyed the service. I will definitely go back and hope to bring a friend or two.

If you are ever bored at your church. Give these folks a try! They are unconventional with their approach but do rely on scripture for their sermons. I used to dread going to church and now I look forward to coming here weekly. Great place for kids too!

My experience has been watching it online but first chance I get I'm going to check it out in person. I love the Praise and Worship it's so alive though on some occasional services they put in some secular music that I don't care for. I like Pastor David because of the way he preaches not a bunch of screaming to get the point across. Watch live on Sat.nite and a few times on Sunday. Look it up I think you'll enjoy it.

Worst place to take your Kids, never let your kids alone at that church, on Wednesday it looks like they let kids alone and a 15 year old boy with a group of other boys bother my 11 year old daughter saying obscene words and one of him touch her shoulder they where saying bad word behind her to the point that they made her cry. This will not stay like that, everyone will know about this, THIS IS A CHURCH???
It shouldn't be a safe place?! What are you teaching the kids there! What kind of parents this kids have!!?
Unbelievable!!! THIS IS NOT WHAT GOD TEACHES!

a big whooping "I love" this place. I was once lost and now I'm found thanks to CBGlades. I never regret going to services, what I regret are days when I don't attend. One service a week (more is always better) is enough to recharge me. So much love and community there. You will never feel alone or out of place at CBGlades.

I have two teenage boys and they heard about this church from friends. We've loved it ever since. The music is modern and compelling. The pastor is engaging and the entire atmosphere is welcoming.

I thought I was going crazy when I heard them perform a hip hop song off the radio that had nothing to do with God. Not my kind of church. I go to be in God's presence to seek him and be in his word. If I wanted to listen to hip hop I would've stayed in my car with the radio on. Please keep the focus on God in all aspects especially when it comes to church.

Very creative and friendly church. Lots of ways to plug in. You can grab a cup of coffee or tea for free or purchase snacks at the snack bar. They offer volunteer services and financial classes every couple of months and it's not old school. I never had to force myself to attend. It's very entertaining and the sermons they preach can be applied to modern life.

Even though I have reviewed over a hundred restaurants and stores I have held off on writing about the place closest to my heart for fear of not having the right words to show how much it means to me. The food places of South Florida might nourish my body but this church is the place that feeds my soul. Week after week I see cruelty and pain everywhere I look around me but this the place I come to see and feel the word of Jesus carried out. Kindness and inclusiveness is at the heart of everything everyone does here. This church lives Matthew 25:36, they feed the hungry and they minister to those who are sick and in prison. In addition to all of their good works the services are awesome. The music team always impresses me. Church by the Glades has some of the best singers I have ever heard. I have never failed to be moved while they are singing. I also always get something useful and applicable to my life from the service. Pastor David or whoever is preaching that day will hook into some pop culture moment and use it to preach a biblical message. The message will have practical implementation to your life. You will never fall asleep or be bored at this church.

To get the full experience you must serve or join a group. To me that is the point of church. You get biblical teaching and you use it to help serve others. Since I have joined the photography ministry I have meet so many great people who support each other both inside and outside of church. We meet at 7 pm every Monday night in the choir room, anyone who likes to take pictures is welcome to join. We have fun outings, for instance this Saturday morning to shoot the sun rise over Deerfield Beach. My daughter has joined the film team. Their has taught her so much. She is learning things about film and editing that are standards in the industry and will help her with pursuing her career. This is a creative church that values young people. The programs for kids such as Kidstuf, the Wave, and Camp United are top notch. Your children will love them and develop their own support networks. The people here really care about the youth that attend this church.

I could go on and on about my love for this church. They have the most dynamic guest speakers, they support women in ministry, they have life changing mission trips, they put on the best Halloween, Christmas, and Easter celebrations, it is full of creative and artistic people, and the pastors preach engaging sermons full of energy and biblical truth. And they do it at six different campuses every week. There are two prison ministries in Homestead, the main campus in Coral Springs, and campuses on Sample Road, Lake Worth, and down town Ft. Lauderdale. The church has the motto "No perfect people allowed". As Pastor David is fond of saying, God has used the some of the most messed up people to do some of the greatest things. I love how I continue to see and be a part of the great things done every week in God's name here.

This church changed my life. While attending initially during my high school and then on to my college years, I was amazed with much how multiple leaders here saw potential in me and gave me multiple opportunities to serve in various areas. But what got me hooked was actually the authenticity of the people (especially Pastor David Hughes).

These people have faith and really believe in what they preach; which is why I have been going since June 2009.

I love, love, love Church by the Glades and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a place to call your church home. Whatever your age or season life: you will grow, be challenged, and be loved.

Side note: "No Perfect People are Allowed". (You'll see what I mean when you get there) ;)

I'm genuinely grateful that I've been able to be a part of CBG for the past year. I and my family have experienced an unreal level of grace and kindness that met us in a time when we really needed it. Really glad that I get to call this place home.

I began to write this as I sat in the traffic getting out of the parking lot after a Sunday night service. I feel really bad. I went to visit because I wanted to familiarize myself with churches in the area that have a night service. Driving into the lot, one can guess that it is a megachurch. And unfortunately, megachurches are becoming well known for squeezing out the Holy Spirit by packing in bodies. Was this different? I wanted to see and hoped so. I have been seriously trying to find churches who are led by the Holy Spirit and strive to always lift up Christ. I wanted to see a church not focused on theatrics and themes, but to see them pause and wait to allow The Holy Spirit to fill the room. I wanted to see a church that instead of numerous announcements of vain events, I would see the leaders open up in prayer and then close with prayer at the altar for those who want it. Instead, the service I attended welcomed me with two leaders dressed in Harry Potter costumes. The stage and "sanctuary" seemed as if I were stepping into a small scale version of Universal Studios. After the announcements, a guy bursts onstage as if he was the main concert rock star singing an Imagine Dragons song. As quickly as the song ends, he is off stage and then begins the teaching. And from the teaching I am still confused. Was it wise to use Harry Potter to teach on friendship, haters, and family? Did I need to see large pics of Harry Potter and hear how great the books are and the author? Did her face need to pop up on the screen? Did I need to hear that "kids have discernment" so it's ok, but don't let them watch Deathly Hallows? Did I need to then see a clip from Deathly Hallows eventually played towards the end of the message with kids in seats all around me? I wondered if I missed a disclaimer or maybe the long justification at the beginning was supposed to make everything ok?

Whatever way I looked at it, I walked out of there missing Christ. I was yearning to see Him and truly worship Him with other Believers. Instead, I got another entertaining talk....and I've been to too many of those. If you feel you are part of the remnant truly seeking God and wanting to grow in depth with Him, this is not the place for you.

This review is strictly for the preschool and the director Leslie. My daughter has been in the Sample Riverside location since July 5th and has gotten bit 5 times. The teachers and director try to downplay it as a normal behavior but honestly she s the oldest in the 1 year old class so I personally feel she s being partially neglected. I requested her be transferred to the 2 year old class since she s 2 months away from being 2. I was given the run around and was told there s no room, then I was told there s 3 kids ahead of her, then I was told there s no physical way she can be moved until at least 3 weeks prior to her birthday. The director at the sample location asked me if I d like to set up a conference call with Leslie, the head director. After avoiding me and not calling me, I took it upon myself to call her. After 30 minutes of going back and forth saying there s nothing she can do, she ultimately says maybe I SHOULD teach my child to hit or bite back. This is absolutely asinine honestly. What director of a preschool would suggest that. My daughter wouldn t hurt a fly and the kids are taking advantage of that. She s gotten bruised, scratched and bitten even on her face and I ve given the benefit of the doubt time and time again especially since I attend the church but enough is enough. I would not recommend leaving your child in their care. Sincerely a very upset and hurt parent.

It is a beautiful place, but I really feel that the focus is more towards the show than God, I feel that God is not occupying the main place that he deserves, today I went and saw almost 70% of the service, about Harry Potter, I felt that it was more a tribute to him than to God. I love this church and I do not want to feel that it is moving away from the Holy Spirit, to give entrance to things that happen outside in the world and should not be so main, even people entered the temple with beer, today I did not feel comfortable.

If you want to be entertained with secular music, lively costumes, light shows and hear motivational speeches, head on over. Otherwise run! Stay far away from this church of wolves. Touch up on the letters Jesus wrote to the 7 churches in Revelation. Church by the Glades is like the one Jesus said will get spit out! Incredible that there are places like this!!!

My experience with CBG, as a visitor, is that the senior pastor David Hughes is an excellent expositor and Gospel preacher. The people of the church are warm and welcoming, the spirit is high energy and full of excitement, and the results are many, many souls coming to saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

About Church by the Glades

Church by the Glades: A Hyper-Creative and Fully-Charged Church

Church by the Glades (CBG) is a church that is all about two things: Jesus and His Word. Located in Coral Springs, Florida, CBG is a hyper-creative and fully-charged church where no perfect people are allowed. The church's mission is to help people experience God's love, grow in their faith, and make a difference in the world.

CBG was founded in 1987 by Pastor David Hughes with just 12 members. Today, it has grown into one of the largest churches in South Florida with over 9,000 members. The church's growth can be attributed to its unique approach to ministry that combines creativity, technology, and relevant teaching.

One of the things that sets CBG apart from other churches is its hyper-creative approach to ministry. The church uses cutting-edge technology such as LED screens, high-quality sound systems, and professional lighting to create an immersive worship experience for its members. CBG also employs talented musicians who perform contemporary Christian music that appeals to younger generations.

In addition to its creative approach to worship services, CBG offers a variety of programs for children and youth including Sunday school classes, summer camps, and after-school programs. These programs are designed to help young people grow in their faith while having fun at the same time.

CBG also has a strong focus on community outreach through its "LoveSFL" initiative which aims to serve those in need throughout South Florida. LoveSFL organizes events such as food drives, clothing donations drives as well as partnering with local organizations like Habitat for Humanity or Feeding South Florida.

Another thing that makes CBG unique is its commitment to relevant teaching based on biblical principles but presented in an engaging way that resonates with modern audiences. Pastor David Hughes delivers sermons that are both practical and inspiring using humor mixed with real-life examples from his own experiences or current events happening around us today.

The church also offers small group Bible studies where members can connect with each other on a deeper level while studying God's Word together.

In conclusion,

If you're looking for a dynamic Christian community where you can grow your faith while having fun at the same time then Church by the Glades might be just what you're looking for! With cutting-edge technology combined with relevant teaching based on biblical principles presented creatively through music or multimedia presentations - this hyper-creative fully charged environment will leave you feeling inspired every week!
