Following two visits to exchange a wedding present...

Following two visits to exchange a wedding present that broke upon first use, I received the worst customer care I could imagine. While Christine, the owner, may have seen two seemingly young men, there was no indication of a lack of sincerity or honesty. When I mentioned, upon offering not one, but two chances for the store to "cure" their breach of the implied warranty of merchantability, that I was an attorney, it was passed of without credit. Well, Christine, that was your mistake. I am not only an attorney, but I work in corporate law and provide pro bono legal services to numerous small business. I strongly believe in supporting small business, apart from this store due to my experience.

As evident by the repetitive mention of your seven (7) day return policy, your failure to listen to customers is perilous to the foundation of any small business. My husband and I were not looking for a return and obviously would not have a receipt as this was a wedding present. There is a clear distinction between a return and an exchange. By selling a defective product, breaching the warranty of merchantability accompanied with every product sold absent a clear notice that said warranty does not attach, and failing to cure when given the opportunity, I have everything necessary to file the formal Better Business Bureau complaint.

Christine, I invite you to reach out to me directly and offer one last chance to cure the defective product. Furthermore, while you may not have a computer system for receipts, I opine it would be a correct assumption that every receipt is saved so as to prepare a proper accounting of your inventory sales for federal and state tax purposes. If you sincerely long for said receipt, feel free to look at your records. However, since the receipt is required for a return, not an exchange, as your clearly, repetitively laid out, I doubt that is necessary.

I hope to hear from you.

Disappointed does not even begin to describe the experience we had at Christine's Creations today. Heartbroken, terrified, bewildered, stunned, embarrassed are all much better words to describe how Christine (owner) treated us. Our family and friends have spent thousands at Christine's Creations. My mother-in-law is one of the top Realtors in Northern Atlanta and used to buy many of her Closing gifts there, but after today....never again. My husband and I were married in December and recently received one of their wooden display towers as a wedding present from our parents. The moment we put items on the levels, the piece crumbled. It was clear that the soldering on the metal center rod had broken. We took all of the pieces into Christine's Creations and from the moment we walked in the door, we were treated worse than trash. Never before have I been spoken to so condescendingly. Christine, again the owner, kept repeating over and over again so that we couldn't speak, "We have a 7 day return policy." And when we would try to speak again, she would interrupt saying, "I'm on repeat. We have a 7 day return policy." We weren't even asking to return it. We loved the piece. We were asking that it be replaced (as many merchants have deals with their suppliers that damaged goods can be returned for credit), that it could be repaired, or that we could get store credit. We did not want cash. We then offered to supply a copy of the credit card statement, as this was a gift and thus we did not have a receipt, which would show that the cost of the item was charged by Christine's Creations. Her response, "You could have bought something else from us for that amount." Well to be fair, our parents actually bought 3 things from Christine that day because they believe in supporting small businesses...as do we. However, we support small businesses because they are integral to what we value in a community such as Woodstock. And what we value, as residents of Woodstock, is friendly conversation and personal interactions with people we consider to be neighbors. That was not an option with Christine. She said that we could come back at 4PM and her husband Phil, who is also an owner, would see if he could fix it. So we left and spent an additional 40 minutes in rush hour traffic to come back at 4. Phil was very nice and extremely helpful. I can't stress that enough. Phil was willing to help repair it although he couldn't guarantee it...which honestly was disappointing. What sort of gift shop a) has a 7 day return policy and b) doesn't back their product? I questioned him on that and Christine stormed from the other side of the store yelling, "No. You know what. We aren't going to do anything. This is not in our best interest." Phil was even silent at this point. My husband, who is an Attorney, attempted to advise her that she was in contradiction to her own policy and that in order to protect consumers, certain laws govern every purchase regardless of a specific store's policy. Christine would not let my husband speak. She asked us to leave and when we would not, Christine then proceeded to call 911...not the police station, but rather used an emergency line that could have been used by someone in an actual emergency. My husband and I then left and thanked Phil for his great customer service. I wouldn't ask my worst enemy to step foot inside Christine's Creations. I have had better, friendlier, customer service from Wal-Mart (and after our day today at Christine's, it makes me want to go give Wal-Mart a 5 star review). I think I will.

Really cute store with a shabby-chic vibe. Pricing was reasonable. It s a real cute small business. Christine at the counter and everyone else greeted us and I could see a man staining a table in the back. Super cute place in a hard-to-find location
