Christie's Salon - Cosmetologist Review

I love this salon. I've been going for about a year now. Sami takes such wonderful care of my hair. I would never go anywhere else. I also use the amazing Paul Mitchell products.

So I chose Christie's on a total whim. I am getting ready to move to the Severn area from Baltimore County so I had no idea where to go. I ended up Googling salons in the area...checked out their website and their Facebook and called them for a total last minute appointment, which they instantly accommodated! You have to love that.

On the day of my appointment...I get lost trying to find it. I had to call the salon 2-3 times on my way. Front receptionist was SUPER helpful to the point of going outside of the salon and waving me down from the side of the road. So sweet. I was late...they were totally understanding.

I did not wait long for Heather, my stylist. I told her what I wanted and she 110% delivered. She did a great cut and beautiful highlights. Price was very good.

Service I give 5 STARS / Hospitality 5 STARS / Skill 5 STARS / Atmosphere I would say about 4 STARS...a couple of things I would suggest they do to step up what they are already doing in service...maybe get wine glasses. The fact that they want their guests to relax and enjoy a glass of wine is so sweet, but I would say replace the plastic cups with wine glasses...or better yet...get the plastic wine goblets! More durable...and they are just as nice and add to the experience. Also, not sure if there is a dress code for salon technicians and stylists but I would say that for a more professional atmosphere (if that is what they are after) maybe implementing one.

I really enjoyed my experience and I wish them the best. I will be back!

I go here for my own salon, but this visit I brought my 1.5year old son in for his first haircut. It was so smooth you'd think he'd been doing it forever. I was so pleased at the experience.

Today I got my hair cut and styled by Ms. Jihan Oliver and she did a wonderful job!!! I was super nervous going in because it's risky business letting people cut your hair but I was not disappointed. We talked a long time before she started and she was very friendly and professional. I was in and out in 2 hours!!! My cut is so fly I'm so glad I found her!!! :)

Christie cut my hair. She was so friendly and my hair looks phenomenal. The environment was wonderful. It was a great experience from the beginning of calling to ask to come in. They ask for your name, that way the entire conversation they are using your name, which makes it very personable. Everyone is very friendly when you walk in. The salon is beautiful and comfortable. I enjoyed getting my hair cut.

I have been going to Christie's for 5 plus years... and I love love love it! I always leave loving what Heather has done for me. Whether it's just a cut, or the works. Love the personal attention. All the stylist are very knowledgable, ask questions and offer great suggestions. You can't go wrong at Christie's!

I have been getting my hair trimmed and/or cut by Christie since 2010. From the first experience I was impressed enough to look forward to returning. The atmosphere is very professional and everyone there is experienced in their field. Even though I prefer seeing Christie, I make an appointment with whomever is available and have never been disappointed. All of the girls are pleasant and make the time fly with their wonderful personalities. I highly recommend getting a massage! Even though I moved to Colorado, I waited until I was back in town to get my hair cut specifically because I only want Christie's scissors to touch my curls.

After 3.5 years in the Severn area I have finally found a salon I love! Casey knew exactly what I wanted without me really even having to say more than a few words and I've gotten endless compliments on my hair!

Sarah does a fantastic job on nails - I can't wait to get back there for another gel mani/pedi!

Not to mention, the atmosphere is so relaxing and welcoming. It feels like you're sitting around with a bunch of girlfriends. I will not go anywhere else!

I have been searching for a new stylist since I moved to Maryland from Los Angeles. My hair is naturally a level 2, but I have a platinum balayage so it is so hard to find someone who I can trust with my hair. After almost a year of searching I FOUND MY PERFECT STYLIST! Rick was amazing. He did a perfect balayage touch up, color correction, cut, and style on my hair.

The salon is super cute. From the outside it looks like a little house. There is ample parking in the front and back of the salon. The decor is upscale but very welcoming. I was offered a beverage, the bathroom was clean and stocked with high end products. It was a nice day and they had the windows open allowing a wonderful breeze to blow through.

I will definitely be coming back. I already made an appointment for a couple months out. LOS ANGELES QUALITY SERVICE!!

Soo, I Just had an amazing experience at Christie's Salon yesterday. Talk about a transformation! I had the pleasure of working with Sammi. She is so educated and gave me so many tips and tricks to maintain this beautiful cut she gave me. The salon staff were so welcoming and friendly, great to chat with. I found my forever salon! I will be working with Sammi in the near future to correct my hair that was damaged by different salon. Im really looking forward to the experience and can not wait to see the outcome! I totally trust Sammi and the salon staff to fix my hair. The owner Christie was so nice and friendly, highly recommend this place! You will LOVE it here. The salon is so well maintained and cozy! You wont want to leave. See you girls soon!

I went to Christie s expecting amazing results , first time I was told I needed a treatment I said okay, my hair was damaged and I ended up getting another treatment because my hair wasn t ready for color , end of story I ended paying almost 500+dollars for a hair I don t like and I m not happy with so basically a waste of money that I didn t have. Hair cut looks like I got a broom on . But every one there is super nice basically the 1 starts is for the great customer service. I rather drive 4 hours to my old hair stylist !

Rick gave my hair just what it needed! I am so happy with the perfect color he choose and the Brazilian Blowout transformed my hair! I love the way my "new" hair looks and feels. Getting loads of compliments(: The Salon is so beautiful as well, very lovely staff !Thanks Rick, see you soon!

I have been a customer for over 10 years, and I have always left Christie s loving my look. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is relaxed and professional. Great value, awesome service!

I was lucky to interact with Heather. She knew exactly how to achieve what I wanted without going full crazy. The only downside is that my hair doesn't take to color well and the masterpiece was gone within 3 weeks.

I found Christie's through my daughter who lives out of state but was searching for a local salon for me after I'd had a not so great experience elsewhere. I made my first appointment with Allie and from the initial phone call to set up a consultation, I felt comfortable. At my appointment, we went over what I had done to my hair over the past year as far as color and style. I told her what I'd like and she told me exactly what was possible, which I appreciated. She told me the products she'd be using and explained what she was doing every step of the way. A few hours later, I went from black roots and orange hair to a beautiful balayage. This girl knows how to color!
My second appointment was even better than the first, if that's even possible. I tell anyone who is looking for a new salon/stylist GO TO CHRISTIES, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

I really enjoyed my time with Heather. She was very understanding and also flexible with my changes and wants for my hair. Between her asking me what I originally wanted to the changes after getting my hair washed, she was very understanding and encouraged me to design my hair the way I wanted. She was also very personable and enjoyed her stories! She is definitely great and I really felt at home at Christie's salon. I would definitely go back again!

Heather's the best, with hair, and she even did my eyebrows last time. A fun salon to hang out and chat in, hip and fun without being snotty or catty. The customers are even so kind and compliment each other on how nice each other's hair looks, etc. Just a great atmosphere to have you hair done! Prices are reasonable as well. Thanks!

I get my hair done by RIck and he's amazing. I have thick wavy/curly hair and he cam work some magic. Everyone who works there is funny and the atmosphere is really laid back.

I made the appointment seeing how this place has many great reviews. However my experince was not so great. The moment I walked in I felt uncomfortable. Then it got even worst when I met Nicole. She made me feel so uncomfortable, like I did not belong there. Anyways she was the worst hairdresser I have every encounter. She kept looking side eye to the other lady working there. So, I just got I left. I have never felt so embarrassed. I am not sure if it has to do with me not being Caucasian but thats what it felt like.

I have nothing but love for this salon! After almost 2 years of searching I have finally found my hair home! Their landscaping was beautiful and interior design was chic, I literally felt comfortable the second I got in the door. Their prices are excellent, their service is superb, and their knowledge and use of industry leading products like Oliplex and Brazilian Blow Out was unexpected, but OH SO welcome especially in a smaller salon! This is not some mom and pop salon! Anything you want to do to your hair WILL be accomplished to your satisfaction here. They are ALL about CUSTOMER SERVICE and they are truly invested in how your hair looks! Tina especially is an amazing colorist, she can give you ombre rainbow hair with cheetah spots or a simple cut and highlight. She was upfront with pricing, options, timelines, and level of follow up care needed so there were no surprises. She took my hair from a hot mess of orange "blonde" stripes to the hotness! She didn't cut corners and it shows! Oh did I mention they are building a full blown spa upstairs? Because they are! LOVE LOVE LOVE this place, can't say enough good things about it. Customer for life!

I had my hair cut by Hope today and she was amazing! She listened to my ideas and made suggestions based on my hair type. Very clean and safe salon and all the employees were so kind. Highly recommended!

My experience with Christie s Salon Inc. has been absolutely horrendous from start to finish. When I first called to set up an appointment, I explained in great detail my allergies to most dyes. We also discussed my previous exposure to dyes and different hair products. I VERY specifically explained my use of henna dye in the past (this was last done three years ago and has since been cut out) to make sure that this would not be a problem. I was assured that the henna use would not matter and that they would do an allergy test before starting. I agreed and went in on 7/17.

I requested a gray balayage. We agreed to the color starting at the ears and going down to the tips. I showed the stylist, Hope, a few inspiration photos and she said she would not be touching my scalp with the dye, so an allergy test was unnecessary. I was quoted at a total of $210 for both the balayage and cut. As I waited for my treatment to begin, another stylist, was talking to a client about how much she hates the procedure I was to have done. This made me feel very uncomfortable.

Something seemed off when it took somewhere between three to four hours and several exposures to heat to lift the color. After applying toner for 15-30 minutes, Hope called over a few other stylists to get their opinion on what to do as the toner wasn t taking correctly. They decided to use a flash toner to quickly tone my hair.. She once again called over another stylist to evaluate the toner, and I was told that some parts are more silver than gray.

I was astonished to see that my hair had gone from a natural black to caramel! I immediately asked why the TOP of my head was caramel as we had agreed to only dying hair from the ears down. The stylists kept insisting that it turned blue because I had recently dyed my hair. They completely ignored my concern with my hair being caramel. The owner even tried to find a natural gray hair on my head to prove to me that I had henna on my hair. She could not. I stated that I did not dye my hair and that I did not appreciate being blamed for the result.

I asked to add more blue to the TOP of my hair so that it all matched. They said that they could use more blue dye to cover up the caramel. They processed for a few minutes as the salon was getting ready to close at 9 pm. Hope asked if I still wanted to have my hair cut. I declined as it was very late and I was frustrated.

I was charged $203 even though I didn t get my haircut, which didn t really make sense in relation to my initial quote. I asked how it was still $203 without a haircut, and was told that this was the price of the dye alone. I was completely bewildered at this point, so didn t question it.

I decided to call the salon to try and figure out a reasonable solution. On 7/19, I called the salon to speak with the owner. However, the owner was unavailable. I did learn, though, that I had paid for the balayage and a color correction. After waiting all day on 7/21, I decided to call them and the owner still was not in. Finally, the owner called me in the evening on 7/22. During our conversation, she talked over me, defended the poor behavior of her employees, and continued to blame me. She even patronizingly sent me articles about dying hair with henna. Again, I have not used henna in years, and this does not explain why the TOP of my hair is caramel! The owner asked me to send photos to her, and I did this right away. It has now been an additional two days, and there has been no response.

This drives home how unprofessional Christie s Salon Inc. is. The owner blew me off while I was at the salon, they lied to me about when I would receive a return call, berated me and called me a liar, and refuse to communicate. I am completely appalled by this salon s lack of integrity and know this is the worst customer service experience of my life. Professionalism and integrity start at the top, and Christie s Salon is a prime example of how a lack of professionalism and integrity bleeds through to every member of the staff.

I've been to plenty of hair salons and never have I spent $200+ for color and a cut. Was at the salon for over five hours. They pulled my hair like no other place and my hair isnt a knotted mess. On top of that the color stayed in for less than two weeks. My other hair salon I couldn't get appointment but next time I'll wait. Wish I could get my money back for the awful experience.

Christie went above and beyond all CDC guidelines. Staying safe was totally at ease with all the measures in place and used. I was greeted at the door with available sanitizer gloves and mask I was extremely grateful to be serviced and to know I was completely safe.

Referred by my daughter Tanya to Christie's and to Heather, WOW I am so glad she did. Love Heather and the vibe of the salon, do yourself a favor n find out for yourself!

Fabulous staff! Beautifully decorated decor. They even placed a heated towel under my neck while shampooing my hair.

Dudes out there...'found the best fix for a rough day at work. Chillax with a most awesome head massage and shampoo by Bria...'dare you not to nod off. Finish with the perfect hair cut by Christie or any of the talented ladies. Get treated to always lively conversation, and walk out looking forward to your next visit.

But don't all you fellas show up at the same time. You'll cramp my style.

What a great Salon, I had only been to Christie's a few times and needed to get my makeup done for my son's wedding, I called on a Wednesday and they worked me in Saturday morning. Christie did an amazing job on my makeup and touched up my hair too, I received so many compliments at the wedding. What a wonderful group of girls and fantastic salon!

After several horrifying experiences, I finally got the nerve to go get my hair cut and styled. I was very nervous and kept telling myself, it's only hair, it will grow back. I went in and immediately felt better about my choice of salon. The entire staff, from the moment I walked through the door, were extremely friendly,warm and helpful. When I met Heather and explained my anxieties and nervousness, she put me at ease right away. She also has long hair and could relate to my fears of ending up with another mullet. She asked how much I wanted cut off and what style I wanted. Every step of the way Heather made sure I will happy with what she had done. I got exactly what I came for and more. From the shampoo to the cut,style and blow dry, I received top notch service. I will continue to seek services from Christie's until I either go bald or die.

I go to the salon every 4 weeks to get my hair done. 1) I wear a shorter style that needs to be trimmed and shaped regularly and 2) I ve had gray hair (gasp!) growing since my early 20 s.
When we first moved to this area, my amazing husband looked up salons and said I should try Christie s. Here I am 3 years later and still religiously go there. Of course Christie and her staff do an AH-MAZING job with my hair, but it s more than that. She has created an experience where daughter, Madelyn, also feels so welcome and loves to get her hair trimmed or a pedicure (she s 7!) .
You know everyone when you go in, you are comfortable and can chat, drink a glass of wine if you wish (or soda, water etc) and relax. People spend literally hundreds of dollars for big name salons to get shuffled in and out with a decent hair cut or color job and not much more (this is my experience at least). I look forward to my once a month time with these ladies.....It s a community. They care about you and become your friends. Thanks Christie (and company) for being awesome!... and I ALWAYS leave with a beautiful color and cut or nail lthat makes me feel good!

If you are looking for a true experience with your hair, nails with Sarah, facial with Mirela etc, these ladies are top notch at their craft. I highly recommend the entire experience!

First appointment today and I just love Hope and the vibe of this salon. I m all about good vibes and I left feeling very happy today and will be a client.

I unfortunately waited till last minute, but I needed a spray tan and eyebrow wax. Sami was great, she was very meticulous. The level at customer service from everyone here far surpasses any other salon I've been to before. This was my first time, but will not be my last.

I just seen Hope today after a bad experience with box due and wanted fo go bright red. She explained everything to me and the risks and what could and could not happen. She took her time for everything and was always polite, along with the rest of the staff. Even being here the first time today, the environment of the salon felt comfortable and familiar like everyone was family. To top it all off, I have curly hair but it s thin curly hair. Other salons have messed my hair up because of that but Hope considered all factors of my hair and I left with my bright red, soft, flowy hair. Could never have gotten better!!

Mirela will have you looking fabulous. My lashes and brows have never looked better. Not to mention the amazing hair and makeup she does.

I loved literally everything! Beautiful interior design. Amazingly nice people, personally based on other experiences I have a slight fear of hair cuts but they made sure a couple times that the length they were cutting was where I wanted. Even though my hair has been quite nice and healthy because I've never really dyed it, it definitely benefited from my appointment. I definitely suggest going here of all places.

Love the atmosphere and services you can get at this shop. I get my lashes done, and hair. I haven't tried my nails yet but that's next! I just love Mirella, she works hard and goes above and beyond to make sure you're happy and look great!

I am glad that I gave them a chance, because I haven't gone anywhere else for almost 2 years now!
Christie and the entire staff of ladies are all wonderful and if I could ever force myself to sit in another stylist chair besides Heather's, I am sure they would be just as great!
