Aside from the recurring exhibitions, this site is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the historic center of Rome.
The Pantheon and the Senate of the Republic are just a stone's throw away.

I was there on the occasion of the exhibition "I Macchiaioli: the unveiled collections". The reduced admission (for students) at 11 seemed a bit excessive at first, but they also provided us with audio guides. So it can fit.
Everything is very nice, the evocative location.

You find yourself, after a walk, in the center of Rome, enjoying the view of its countless and enchanting alleys, in front of this wonderful cloister, home to exhibitions, different and interesting, inside which you will find an elegant bar with buvettes and you immerse yourself in the fantasy that only this magnificent city can give.

The cloister of Bramante is a lovely place. Too bad for the plastic cover, installed inside the cloister which should serve to shelter it from the weather and from bird droppings, definitely out of place

The exhibition on Turner has been visited. Contrasting judgment, on the one hand, it is interesting for the theme developed on the value of the watercolor technique, on the other, unsatisfactory in the display methods.

According to Almando Bruski's book "Bramante", a lifelong study of Bramante's architecture, the features of the corridor have successfully stacked two different systems on the first and second floors.
On the first floor, a wall system with custom-arranged arches, specifically an Ionian post on a high pedestal, is attached to a Tuscan prism supporting the arch on the ceiling.
The second floor supports an entreature system, specifically a corridor-type and composite prism alternately arranged horizontally at the top of the capital.

Well, put the difficult things aside, the espresso to drink in a beautiful environment is delicious!

Hidden among the alleys, and with the attention stolen from the nearby Piazza Navona, it is a rare and small jewel, given the greatness of the Roman monuments.
The exhibitions and events organized inside are a bit expensive, but it's worth it .. the bar inside is a place that combines taste and relaxation where you can eat special dishes.

The current 'Dreams' exhibition (July 2019) is wonderful, I highly recommend it (English and Italian signage/audioguides). The cafe upstairs is a beautiful little oasis on a hot summer day and can be accessed without buying a ticket to the exhibition (although you should). For what seems like a hidden little spot amongst the typical grand sites of Rome, the Chiostro del Bramante is brilliant.

Staff unprepared to accommodate the smallest customer requests. Broken ATM and no notice to visitors despite the queue ... in a city like Rome, in 2018, it is not possible to find yourself in such situations. Really bad!

The Chiostro del Bramante is an extraordinary exam...

The Chiostro del Bramante is an extraordinary example of Renaissance architecture. It is the work of Donato Bramante (1444-1515) who, having moved from Milan to Rome after the fall of Ludovico il Moro, will become the first architect of Pope Julius II here and will be Michelangelo's great rival. It is part of the complex which also includes the adjacent Church of Santa Maria della Pace where the famous Sibyls by Raphael are located.
The Cloister is a building of refined linearity and rigorous elegance, which applies principles of harmony and balance in every compositional element. The architecture, as is typical of the Renaissance, takes inspiration from classicism, radically reaffirmed by Bramante with the ban on any additional decoration, in favor of the power of the structural elements. Erected on a square scheme, the Cloister consists of two superimposed orders: a large portico with four arches on each side with Ionic-style pillars with capital and base, vaulted roofs, and an upper loggia in composite style, with pillars and alternating Corinthian columns supporting the flat roof architrave.
In this space were distributed the spaces for the collective life on the ground floor and the living spaces on the first floor, now transformed into areas for cultural activities. At the base of each pillar of the loggia there are seats once used by monks and now used by the public for reading, conversation or refreshment. The walls of the portico on the ground floor are adorned with sepulchral monuments from the end of the 15th century. In almost all the lunettes you can admire delicate frescoes with stories from the life of Mary.
Today it is home to prestigious exhibitions and events, it is one of the most popular exhibition spaces in the capital.

Cafe Bistrot is the only place in Rome where you can enjoy an espresso in large cocktail glasses.

Choosing the table to sit on is a difficult decision: you can sit by the glass to admire a church on which Raffaello's fresco is painted or you can sit at the modern bar, where the lights are enchanting.

One of the worst museum experiences in Rome is to think that there is a private foundation behind it. They have exhibitions with few relevant works, but they know how to promote them. The bar is very expensive. The place is suggestive if you want to avoid the exhibitions and enjoy the cloister with a drink, easy to hide for the sake of indulging in the luxury of drinking in that setting.

Perfect exhibition space, built inside part of the ancient convent. In fact, for some years now, many of the capital's most interesting temporary exhibitions have been held right here ...
currently the "unknown" artist Banksy "finds space" who has conquered the world thanks to his works of irony, denunciation, politics, intelligence, protest.

I visited the exhibition on Bacon & Lucien Freud (Sigmund's grandson). I congratulate the organizers. I found it well made and very interesting. With the guide via earphones it was a pleasure to go from one room to another, where an overall framework is provided rather than for a single painting (which can then be read on a single caption on your own). Not being a particularly cultured person, I found this way of presenting very easy and more interesting to frame the historical, social and personal context of the painters. thank you

I got to see this wonderful structure during the period of the exhibition dedicated to the "Macchiaioli" in an evening context thanks to a gala dinner. The context in which it is located, the state of conservation are the prerequisites for a visit.

Very interesting exhibition, too bad for the organization is not excellent. I noticed in two cases that strangely enough people without tickets had priority in the entrance. Spaces not suitable for managing visitors, the prevention measures for covid 19 did the rest
